Hi Friends,
Just Introduce yourself to the Group
Say Hello to all our members & keep smiling always.
Hi Tj Thanks for creating this new thread for new Tree lovers..Common New members lets share about u and meet our other friends...
Hello & welcome to our newest members
Shania I hope you don't mind, I have picked up your post from the group share & pulled it up here so all Our members may notice it & maybe give you their views. I for one having read your share, would say follow your Heart, you have all the passion required to make a difference, if your student councilor will not listen or act, go up a level, go to your teachers, the Head, Governor, School Board, get your parents on side & bring it up to the PTA. Can you & some like minded friends afford some seedlings, if you donate them to the school, what can they do, but plant them, this may get the ball rolling ???
Shania's Share :- I am new to this group and i am happy i joined! All my life i have loved trees! No one really understood why! I am really into saving them so i joined this group! In our school no one really seems to care about trees except me and my friend ebony (another member of the group) we love trees and the environment but no one else seems to care! We joined care2 to help and so far we love it! But we would love it more if we could help in our schools. I mean the principal is always bringing people to our school and telling the teachers to tell us about global warming and the shortage of our trees but even though they may seem to care they never do anything about it! Every time we do donations is is only to Poor countries, RSPCA or school fund. Now don't get me wrong, they are great causes! But we never EVER do anything to help trees, the environment,, whales and things like that! All i can remember was that in year 4 we donated to the Orangutans but that was all! In year 6 i suggested to a year 7 student councilor to make a plant a tree day where not only do you plant trees you go around the school hugging them! Of course they didn't listen and didn't even suggest it! They just laughed! If the government and the schools want us to go green they should do something about it IN school not just make us go home and do stuff ourself! I already do stuff and i enjoy it but other people couldn't care a less! How can we possibly tell the government about this matter!? If you have any suggestions please tell me at savethetrees97@hotmail.com or send a care2 message!
Thankyou!
Come on Host's & Members What do you say ???
Hi Shania,
Great idea to get the school to plant trees or encouragement to those younger by growing their own seedlings.I would suggest to hold off on the Tree hugging til you can win the idea of planting trees first. Then maybe with few close friends start to "Hug" and slowly watch others join in.Encourage them by saying a tree can be another way of comfort during a bad time or shelter during a storm or shade in hot weather. How many times do you see someone leaning on or sitting by a tree just to be alone for a few seconds or a group of friends having a picnic, even using the branches as swings and enjoying the fruits. Most do this without thinking as it just seems the natural thing to do.They are half way there.. This is just my view and hope it gives food for thought. Keep up the good work

Hi, Helena from the World Land Trust here!
We're new to this group and to Care2. (Well, new-ish.) World Land Trust is a conservation organisation that helps raise funds to buy and protect rainforests and other important wildlife areas. We certainly love trees!
I'm not sure how active I'll be able to be in this group, but I'll try to pop in as often as I can - if only to impeove my appaling tree ID skills. ![]()

Hello !! My name is Linda M. and I just joined a few days ago...took me that long to get here, as it is quite a walk from my place here in Texas !! But, I told Birdie that I had joined and now I am making my appearance...lol...and am going to take a walk through the tree park here!! Oh, before I go...I have always loved trees and have taught a few people to hug them, as well !! My departed love thought I was nuts at first, but my sincerity finally got through to him and he finally hugged one !! and wasn't even embarassed !! He said it even felt good, too....awww, think it touched his soul, I do !! I used to be a member of the Tree Registry a while back and hope there is a link or a way to become a member again...for I do love the old ones with what I hope is the proper reverance due them...
Hey, I'm a man and I hug trees. Well actually I just usually pat them and compliment them for being there, for being tall, for being alive, the old ones for having stood up to all the storms and such things for a lot of years and young ones just because they're young.
I also send/give healing flows to some tree if I see it is having a hard time, diseased or dying.
Welcome to Tree lovers and thank you for joining us!
Nice to meet you Linda, I hope you enjoyed the senery on your long walk here!
Kenneth, I am sure the trees appreciate your compliments and attention.

It's great when people join a group, that they make themselves known & through sharing we may all learn something new, it may not seem important in the great scheme of life, but the smallest word from the quietest voice, may just be the very thing that changes our world & has the most surprising impact on our futures.
Hello new Tree lover members, as I am sure you can see, Tj is so much better with words than I am, but I certainly am glad you have joined us and welcome you wholeheartedly.
Sorry for my tardiness in welcoming our latest members, I have been some what pre-occupied with other Groups.
