A beautiful Saturday here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!  Yesterday, the temperature climbed into the 80s and today is expected to be a repeat.  Will go to your Invisible  Youth Network and try to get by YouTube as well this weekend, Tj.  Back at you, Michele, my friend!  Am on schedule for recuperation and should have biopsy result on Wednesday.....waiting for those has been the most difficult part.  Off to do some clicks!

Glad to be able to get back into groups, kept getting " Invalid invitation...blah, blah.. something"   well, today I had a  light buld moment & logged out of the "Keep me logged in " feature  & logged back in.....and here I am!

I am glad you are on scheduale with your recovery Carolyn, you remain in my thoughts & prayers. I think I have short term memory loss also, I keep forgetting that each time I play beautician and try to give myself a trim, It does not end well.    Maybe I can  start a "Crooked bangs" trend until it grows out!

Ok, I am confused! I can now get into this Group, but the other groups I tried to get into I still got the "Invalid Invitation" message wich appears once I click any group thread from groups home page? One of those groups, Vegaterianism, I tried I am a co host of. Guess I should go check all the groups I am a member of & check if I can get into any other ones. Will do daily clicks here first.

Seems logging off & back in is not working to get me back into the groups that are still in the old format. I can get into the groups that have changed over to the beta. I do not think it is my recent down grade to dial up, (Daja Vu) had this trouble in past when I had the cable Internet service, difference being this time I can get to my own profile page.

How is everyone? What type of weather are you having in your part of the world?  Here in the mountains of the Island of Enchantment, it has been chilly and windy with scatter showers.

Hello folks .... so much to catch up on .... I have been popping in and trying to keep track but by the time - Work & constant trips between Father at home & Mother in Hospital - have taken their part of my day, theres been little time for much else.

I don't wish to offend any one, but we seem to have some strange things going on with threads .......

New thread started to tell us Verle forest saved - GREAT NEWS - but why not posted in Verle thread ???

Multiple posts being started for petitions - We have thread for "All petitions" -

if its something real special, like a petition for me to win the Lotto, or a daily action, then lets have new thread, otherwise can we use thead already in place.

New campaigns being posted in other threads, if its news post in news, if petition post in petition, if new daily action start new thread, if something you just come across & not sure what to do with it, post it in here or Registration, & someone will work out what to do with it for you, .... However posting in exsisting campaign thread is to my mind just damn right rude & if you did such things in most groups not only would your post be removed - but so would you.

I have already moved some posts that were out of place & just deleted some, I don't like to intervene & don't wish to offend but we do need some order or we'll just end up in a mess and not be able to keep track at all, hope you all agree.

Right thats enough of that - now some humble pie - Brandy so sorry I missed your b'day, hope you had a great day - if it makes ya feel better, yours wasn't the only one I missed, by the time I eat all this pie I may need bigger door on RV ... LoL

Another gorgeous Spring day!  Enjoy, my friends!

Today was a very good day, that included good news regarding friends, and faith that there is good news around the corner regarding situations of other friends.

 Now if you know me, I think you know that I believe most people are caring, kind & thoughtful, but this evening I am now wondering what is wrong with some people! No worries, I have from time to time wondered this but I always return to my original beliefs, but I need to vent, and who could be  more understanding to this venting than Tree lovers.

I was outside and noticed that the papaya tree just outside the front fence, which is part of my property, is gone! I walked up the driveway thinking "what the...".  Someone cut the tree down to half the size it was, what I know for sure on Sunday was still my medium height papaya tree, full of fruit and leaves at the top, is now a short stick coming out of the earth. I am angry, when I am angry my Spanish suddenly becomes fluent, so anyone in hearing distance, I am sure, got an earful.  I hope my words managed to reach the ears of whoever did this, I  am sure the tree will grow back fine, and I have another papaya tree in the front yard near my big mango tree.  I am angry because if someone wanted papayas, I would not care if they took them, there are plenty to share thanks to mother earths generosity,  but why did they have to cut the tree? Why not just do a little reaching or climbing since that tree was not very tall, like the one near the big mango, you could easily climb the fence and with a little stretch could reach the fruit.

Thanks for 'listening"  and know if anyone ever needs an "ear" I am capable of listening just as well as I am of chattering!

Michele- I am sorry that you had lost your papaya tree.  Hope that it grows back with more fruit on it.  Hope you catch who ever did this so they won't touch it again.  My neighbors know not to hurt my pomagranade tree.  I allow them to take the fruit but no cutting off branches allowed.  I planted a crabapple tree that Electra sent me for my Birthday.  Can't wait till it gets older to see the beautiful flowers. 

Thank you Carolyn for the Birthday greeting sorry I have not stop by here sooner.  I am glad that you are recovering well.  I was able to get what I wanted most on my Birthday.  A day of peace.  Spent the morning in meditation and prayer then I made caldo de pollo (Chicken Soup) from scratch.  and spent the day catching up on emails.   It is good to have a day like that just wish it would happen more often.

Hi, Everyone!  I finally had to venture out to the grocery store this morning...it exhausts me by the time all is in the house and put away...and I am looking forward to resting on the sofa and watching the Home&Garden channel...one of my favorite vicarious experiences, lol.  We have had three days of very heavy weather...including two tornados which touched down here in the city.  One made its wrath known just two blocks from me.  I never lost electricity, but many homes and businesses did, so we are stocking up and cleaning up again in Baton Rouge.  The day dawned without rain and the sky is a gorgeous blue, but it is quite nippy out.  Sorry, Michele, that someone savaged your tree and I can well imagine that you were angry over that expensive, useless nonsense.  I do hope the tree makes a speedy recovery, but it will take time for it to get to its previous state of beauty.  Brandy, glad you got your birthday wish.  Have a lovely weekend, All...be gentle with yourselves and those whom you love.

Carolyn, I am sad to hear that Baton Rouge is having such harsh weather.

I hope the days lack of rain and blue sky's are a sign that tranquil weather is settling in. Enjoy your rest and TV viewing, maybe you will get some gardening tips to share with us!

The tree was here before we lived here, maybe for years, I don't know. I think it will, as you said Carolyn, with time get to its previous state.

I am off to  bring in & fold/hang laundry & to boil water for cooking & drinking.

Palm Sunday's weather is dreary, despite the Sun's brave attempts to break through.  We are expecting night-time freezes tonight and Monday...surely, they will be the last of wintery weather.  I am staying indoors today to do some much-needed light housekeeping and am making several soups to have on hand next week.  I hope all of you are having a relaxing and blessed Sabbath.

Seems many places are still experiencing winter weather, in between a few glimpses of spring.

Sue, thank you, I asked because I was wondering where  my birthday would place me on on the official, universal,young, middle and mature, age scale! I am not entering middle age status yet but when I say my age out loud, I have to laugh because it just does not feel possible! How did I get here so soon!?

I found this lovely outdoor nook and wanted to share it with all of you...an oasis in the midst of busy days.  Thursday, I will finally be allowed to rejoin the world outside this apartment and I can scarcely wait...even though it will be but a trip to the grocery store, lol.  My windows are open to the lovely low 70-degree temperature we are enjoying today.  The trees outside my window and on the property are a lush green from the rains of the weekend past.....Oh!  a bluejay just flew onto the limb of the pine outside the window!  My favorite of all birds and one I view as a 'good luck' omen.  Wow!  Life is great!  Wishing all of you abundance in the things that truly mean wealth.

Here I am...without a graphic today.  Thank you Michele...you are the embodiment of perfect love and I do feel you beaming energy to me.  You know, when I stepped outdoors today I asked my friend who was going to take me to the store to give me a headstart so I might walk to the corner.  I touched every tree I passed, lol.  I was very tired after the outing, but it will build stamina and it was just so good for my spirit.  Rain is to move back into our area tomorrow afternoon, so I will go sit under the trees on the grounds tomorrow for a bit and drink in Nature's tonic.

Carolyn, as good as touching the trees along your walk to the corner is for your spirit, it is good for the tree spirit too,I am sure the tree appreciated the admiration and passed you some positive energy.  Take one step at a time and rest when you must Carolyn. Enjoy your time under the trees tomorrow, see all the beauty around you with every part of you, not only your eyes and know that you are a connected part of it all, just as we all are a connected part of each other.

I hope everyone is doing well, and looking forward to the start of the week. It is only 8:25pm but slumber land is calling, if I had another hammock I would join my 12 year old who has brought a pillow & comforter out, along with his mp3 player, and has fallen asleep under the stars.

I will have to wake him up though,and since there is no school tomorrow he will protest having to come inside,  maybe if we move the hammock back onto the porch and get another one I will sleep out over night with him since he enjoys it so much.

Do to electrical upgrade & rewiring..etc. here at my doll house, I will be away until on or about May 15Th, I am not sure when the electricity will go off, I do know it will be sometime during the upcoming week, possibly as soon as tomorrow, so if anyone notices I have not been around and their is an unusual silence, no worries, all is well, enjoy the break from the chatter, I am sure I will be in full speed ahead chatter box mode upon my return!

Hello, friends.  Surgery on Tuesday went well and I am recovering rapidly.  However, Care2 is making an old person of me, lol!  Among the many glitches with my account is that ALL OF MY FRIENDS WERE DELETED!  What a rude surprise!  I am only allowed to contact 25 people a day to invite them to reconnect with me in friendship, so am using every possible avenue to explain why people are not hearing from me.

If we have previously linked in friendship and you have not heard from me or read about the issue in a Care2 group, will you PLEASE, PLEASE initiate adding me back as your friend.  Also, if we had not formalized our friendship previously and you would like to link with me, I hope you will take a moment and do so now.  I enjoy the company of all of you and I am at Care2 because of the causes and the friendships.

Hi, Tj:  Thanks for adding me back so promptly to your friends list.  Today, miracle of miracles--and with help from several other Care2 people savy about these things--my friends list is repopulated.  Still having to constantly log in, just as you described above, lol.  Also, appreciated your post at another thread read AVG and Care2.  It is particularly frustrating because it syphons off time I could use to truly be productive here.  UGGGGGGGG!  Well, speaking of productivity, lol, let me try to put some into practice before I have to scoot out for insulin pump class. Yes...at last I will have this valuable tool at my disposal, but learning how to use it safely is more complex than I thought.

I JUST NEED A NAP
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the
hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is
and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:
'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep.
Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Starting a long holiday weekend here.  Public school ended this academic year yesterday; private schools a few days earlier.  I believe my daughter and her family were to head for Disneyland in Florida--they are going to be wet!  They go every year...can you imagine?  I am about to take a walk ahead of rain moving in...at least I hope I can get to the bank and home again before the clouds give me a soaking.  See you all later.

I have been out of town for a week, returning home about noon yesterday.  Always so much to do to prepare for a trip, and then much catching up to do when one returns.  I have popped in and out a bit here since then and will try to return later.  I hope you are all anticipating a wonderful weekend.

LOL, everyone at your funny posts.  Ladies, ladies, ladies!  Get back to me when you turn 65!  Life changes?  Ohhhhhhhh, yessssssssss!  I will try not to drool on the threads as I drag my old bones around this group.  You're all such cut-ups!

Well....rats!  Dropped my graphic...posted on some threads before hitting this one and I guess it just fell out of my pocket.

Guess many of you had trouble getting in today also; it was a mess....freezed up countless times and had to keep rebooting and even then posting was not "sticking."  The gremlins appear to be tamed again, for I am having no problems here in the wee hours of the morning.

Those Gremlins seem to be everywhere I go! here, Aol, and other sites, and the message mucher has taken up residency over at Hot Mail!

My day started early today, headed to town at 6am to pick up a few grocery items for my mother in law, and I was lucky enough to find a ride back up to the village within 10 minutes, by about 8am, or not to much after 8am, I was back, to find another stroke of luck! My mother in laws neice called and ofered to take MIL & my sister in law, to visit MIL's brother who just returned from his trip to chicago. So before most are even up and having that first morning wake up coffee, I have been out & about and now the rest of the day, or at least the next 6 hours, is mine!

LOL @ your Drooling on threads comment Carolyn! Hummm, I bet you where checking out some hunky eye candy and thats what really caused the drooling!

Hello Sue! I learned on labor day that just because a pepper LOOKS like the little sweet ones used in sofrito, you should NOT find out by taking a bite. I like hot sauce, but this was like a three alarm fire, and as is usually the case when I do not have time to think about it...that fire in my mouth had me speaking Spanish fluently!

Hi Carolyn, I like your cool cat friend, bet not many dogs would tangle with him!

We are heading to New Jersey this morning to go to Six flags, should be a fun day but I will keep in mind how on last visit my enthusiasm to go on the "can cause heart attack" rides ended in crying to get off those rides, then a dash to nearest trash can!

I have to stand by trash can, just watching others on these rides ..... Lol ..... & am able to induce Heart attack with the excitement of playing "Hook a duck" .... Have a great time & everyone a great weekend whatever you choose to do with it.

lol, I only went on the mild rides, which included the roller coaster that has no loops, therefore no upside down moments. But did have a 2 close to tears moments, one included use of foul language. Was in superman gift shop when overheard that superman roller coaster was stuck & people where upside down, before mom, aunty or my uncle knew what was going on, I ran out of the gift shop, ducked under the gate of the rides line entrance, told the worker " F@#% u my kids are on that ride!" when he tried to tell me I could not do that, and somehow in no time at all weaved my way through the long line of people, my son & cousins where not very happy I pulled the off the line after they waited over an hour on line and where so close to their turn to get on. The ride was stuck, but no one upside down, but still, IMO, just having any difficulty was good enough reason to get them off that line. Second teary moment was for the Dolphins & Seals in Sea show, had to hang out after show and ask trainer about weather or not captivity shortened their life span, according to her, the live better because no fear of preditors, espercially man.

My gosh Tj and Michele!  What dreadful memories you have of amusement parks, lol--and with good cause.  I am still one those who loves the rollercoasters, ride with my arms in the air and shriek with delight.  My friends say it is getting to be a bit embarrassing now that I have mostly grey hair and am arthritic...rofl.  Guess bystanders don't know if I was that way before the ride or if the ride brought about the changes, lol.

LOL, no worries on embarrising anyone Carolyn, keep enjoying your self. Bless you! upside down rides scare the life out of mer, always thinking strap/guard will break or open & I will be froggy splatter!

you keep eyes opened!  not me, close eyes, hold on and probably pray more than could in a year of daily prayer! and thats on the mild roller coaster...add tears for the loopdy, upside down ones!

Froggy will be hopping home to the enchanted Island Sunday Oct 25th, I am very happy to go home and happy goal of getting debts settled acheived, but sad too cause oldest son not going home with me.

Hi Michele, 

Sorry, I have not been around much.   Finally got my computer upgraded to Windows XP service package 3 and my health is getting better.  Still have my bone spurs in my spine.  I have been taking Bio-Flex to repair my damage joints.  Still need surgery for my back, but I do not have insurance so I will have to wait.  My husband and I are celebrating our 16th Engagement Anniversary today. The graphic is showing above maybe it takes a while for the graphics to show up on here.

As some of you know, I am home, and I am very happy to be back home.

One of the many realizations that became undoubtedly clear while in NY is that although there are family and lifelong friends whom I miss in NY, it could never again be "home" because I know that I would never be truly happy there.

It is great to visit, but the home of my heart is here.....In my Island of Enchantment.

As Witches fly across the moon,
The black cats sing a howling tune.
Spirits dance in the night so fare,
As magick and wonder fill the air.



Dazzling colors from the Autumn leafs fall,
As the sweet aroma of the night winds call.
Crisp in the air unseen changes draw near,
Secrets once hidden in whispers too hear.

The sky is overflowing with a purple hue,
As Balefires are readied with oak and yew.
Thirteen stones in a circle round,
Sheltering those upon this sacred ground.

Our Alter prepared is set beyond time,
With apples, gourds, sweet bread and wine.
The cauldron placed on the flames as they rise,
The wheel now turns as the old year dies.

Herbs of Mugwort, Sage, and Spice,
Cast into the flames as the sparks doth rise.
Dancing above they merge with the stars,
While spirits all-around us join from afar.

Our energies dance as soon they take flight,
To join with souls calling from darkness night.
In dreams they summon us unto them come,
Until the dawning of the morning sun.

Our Lord stands like the mightiest oak,
While in words of magick we call and invoke.
The Moon is summon as the Queen enters in,
We beacon Her come to this ritual of years end,

The veils are lifted and time is like shifting sand.
Across the fields and thought the Summerlands.
Upon this night, gentle souls touch our hearts,
In loving memories shared again they depart.


We do not grieve with the ending of this night,
For the circle of life turns and love becomes light.
Magick is all around us, if we choose to see.
With Blessings of Samhain, so mote it shall be.
