Pray
warriors are often hidden from the world. Some people have the gift of
being a prayer warrior. This is a person who prays for others, for
world situations, for countries, for churches, for individuals. Each
prayer warrior may have a different prayer mission. For instance, some
prayer warriors only pray for the sick, while others may pray for the
persecuted Christian, or the homeless person. And some prayer warriors
may pray for whatever they feel led to pray for. Another words, they
have a very deep feeling that they should pray for a certain person, or
situation, and they are obedient to God, and pray. Whatever they
pray for they pray with all of their heart and soul. Some may sing
their prayers, some may pray in their prayer closet, or prayer groups,
or church, or some private, hidden place. Some prayer warriors may fast
on occasion, but should only do so wisely, with juice or water and a
reasonable time limit. Some prayer warriors, might prayer simple quiet
prayers, while other may even prayer loudly in a private place or in a
church where this is accepted. Some prayer warriors will pray with
candles, some without candles, some on their knees, others standing up
with arms raised, some prayer warriors will pray sitting in a chair. But
no matter how these prayer warriors pray, they are honoring Jesus by
using their gift, and asking sincerely for Jesus's help. These are who
prayer warriors are.

Sometimes
prayer warriors do not get much recognition. They are hidden, often
praying in secret, but not always. Many also pray in public as the Lord
leads. They often are not acknowledged as important, and they may often
not see the results of their prayers for long periods of time or maybe
never. They may not even know that their prayers have been answered.
They pray entirely on faith. Some prayer warriors are so hidden and
secret, that no one ever knows they are praying, no one that is except
for Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit! And yet how very important they
are. We see so little of what goes on in the spiritual world. Or even
in this world. We do not when one person's prayer has saved the life of
another's. Or when a simply said prayer has opened the door to a job,
or saved a marriage. We do not know when someone singing a prayer has
brought food to a starving person, or has opened someone's heart to
salvation. We do not know when someone doing spiritual battle through
prayer, has chased away the darkness of Satan and let the light come
flooding into a lost and frightened soul, or led a wandering lamb back
to the Lord. So prayer warriors are extremely important and we
should pray for the prayer warrior and take the time to say thank you
to the person who may not even realize what an important mission they
have!

Two Iranian Christian Women Still Held in Evin Prison
Maryam Rustampoor, 27, and Marzieh Amirizadeh, 30, were arrested and sent to Evin Prison in Tehran, Iran. The two women did not rob a bank, kill a man or beat up someone.
Their crime? Loving Jesus. And it is for this reason alone they are still imprisoned.
In August during a court hearing, the two were questioned repeatedly about their faith. They were told to return to Islam.
"We love Jesus," was their reply. Prosecutors asked the women, who had already spent five months in prison, if they regretted being Christians.
"We have no regrets," they said. "We will not deny our faith."
The judge sent them back to Evin Prison - notorious for its brutality - to "think about" their decision.
"We have already done our thinking," they told him.
Maryam and Marzieh are among dozens of Iranian Christians arrested, detained or interrogated in Iran in recent months. The harassment is the radical Islamic government's response to an Iranian revival that has thousands of Iranians coming to Christ each month.
The Voice of the Martyrs helps the Iranian church in many ways, including supporting gospel television broadcasts transmitted into Iran and printing Christian literature for distribution inside the country.
This
month we invite you to make a special contribution in support of our
work with Iranian believers. In addition, VOM just released Restricted Nations: Iran, a new book about Christ followers in Iran. This book can help you understand the history of the church in Iran and offer an effective way to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters living there today.

Summer brings many Arabs from hot, arid regions to more temperate climates in countries like Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, where the living water of the gospel message also flows more freely and they are exposed to gifts of New Testaments, the Jesus Film and the courageous, faithful testimony of Christians.
I believe God is working among all the nations, says Nadal, one of the pastors in the Middle East.
We baptized 37 persons in one meeting. More than half of them were
Muslims. I asked one of them for his ID. When he gave it to me, I
thought that this was not his own card . I saw that the picture on this
ID was from an Imam practicing Islam very seriously. The man confirmed
he was that man and acknowledged that he indeed was very active in
converting people to Islam but God changed his life. Now he does not
miss any meetings in the church. He travels around and shares the
gospel with who wants to hear.
Father,
this summer You have brought freedom and life to many who were slaves
to sin and death. They have returned now to the darkness of their home
countries. Protect them, increase their faith, bring fruit to their
witness. Give them wisdom, courage and humility that the light of Your
gospel might shine brightly in their lives and dispel the darkness.
Often it seems that places like Iraq
are imploding. Help is desperately needed in these dark places.
However there are many who work tirelessly to assist the downtrodden. Open Doors
launched a mobile medical clinic with doctors and nurses to travel to
remote villages providing medical care as well as Bibles and spiritual
encouragement. A staff member observes, The people love the Bibles
and often start reading them immediately. What a blessing.
Father,
thank you for these faithful ones who bring physical and spiritual
healing to the suffering in Iraq, both Christian and Muslim Kurds.
Protect the medical workers that they might continue to bring help.
Give them wisdom and opportunity not only to provide good medical help,
but also to meet the spiritual needs there.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PETITION:IF YOU ONLY SIGN ONE PETITION SIGN THIS ONE!! October 16, 2009 4:45 AM
Dear Donna,
This is a crucial year in the fight to preserve
religious freedom worldwide. Open Doors USA will be helping to lead the
advocacy effort at the United Nations to prevent the Defamation of Religions resolution from passing through our Free to Believe Campaign. But we need your help. Please sign on to our petition
to register your disapproval of the resolution. The campaign already
has recieved an amazing response with over 2,600 signatures. But we
need to keep the momentum going.
The Defamation of Religions Resolution seeks to criminalize words or actions as attacks against a particular religion. As incredible as it sounds, passing this resolution could allow a Christian to be persecuted under UN approval. We need you to voice your protest of this resolution.
The resolution protects a faith rather than individuals who hold a faith, which goes against the very purpose of human rights in international law.
The result is that this resolution gives UN sanction to Muslim majority
countries to persecute Christians and other religious minorities for
not sharing the same beliefs as Muslims. It
also provides legitimacy to these countries' blasphemy laws which are
often used to accuse, imprison, and even murder Christians.
While Defamation of Religions Resolutions have been
introduced and passed in previous years, it is up again this year for
re-authorization. Policy experts at the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom believe we have a real opportunity to defeat it this year. Members of Congress and non-profit organizations will be organizing to urge countries to vote NO on Defamation of Religions Resolution.
Join Christians in Tunisia as they pray for their country and the presidential and legislative elections to take place October 25.
This North African country along the Mediterranean boasts a population
of over 10 million people. The comparatively small Christian community
is largely made up of foreign residents and native-born citizens of
Arab or European descent. There are no laws against conversion from
Islam; however, government officials use bureaucratic means to
discourage it, and new Christians often face ostracism, with most of
the pressure from families.
Father
we join the Tunisian Christians as they pray for their elections that
those who rule their country will rule with godly justice and that
their hearts will turn to You. We also ask that You protect the Muslim
Background Believers from persecution, but also bring opportunities for
them to share the good news of reconciliation with Yourself through the
sacrifice of Christ
PHILIPPINES: Trapped, desperate and at risk...the horrific effects of poverty
are far reaching, causing permanent physical and psychological damage
to children, often robbing them of an otherwise stable future that we
often take for granted here at home.
Many
children in the Philippines often leave school to work in backbreaking
jobs...because they have no other choice. They belong in school
instead of working for mere pennies a day. And without you, these kids don't have a chance.
But you can make all the difference in the world to them by sponsoring one now.
A life changing investment in a child is just $22 a month, or a mere 75
cents a day and you can help stop the horrors of poverty. Your
monthly support will help us keep these children safe - and off the
streets where danger lurks.
Please don't let these children in the Philippines continue to get dragged down. Help them have a choice. Sponsor a child now...and end the vicious cycle of poverty. And we have selected a special child just for you simply use this link to learn more.
We've also created a
Resource Kit CD that we're offering to churches, free of charge. If you
do not work for a church, you can still order one of these kits for $5
(just enough to help us recover our production costs).
The ICC Resource Kit is packed with a planning guide, videos, stories, sermon ideas, Sunday school lesson ideas and much more!
If you're ordering for a church, please call us (1-800-422-5441) with a valid church address.
Compass News reports that on October 19, the Assemblies of God (AoG) church in Vietnam
received an operating license, the first step in becoming legal.
They now have permission to carry on religious activity anywhere in
the country for the next year. In the meantime, they must submit some
extensive documentation, including a doctrinal statement,
a constitution and by-laws, and a four-year working that must be
approved by the government before being allowed to officially
organize. This is the first of these operating licenses to be granted
in two years.
Father,
we give thanks for this encouraging news from Vietnam. We call for
your Spirits intervention this year as the AoG prepares and submits
the required documentation. Give them favor with the authorities that
Your Word would go forth in great power and the people of Vietnam might
stand united in praise and worship.

November 9 marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Over the years, Brother Andrew
delivered hundreds of Bibles to former communist countries in his now
famous blue Volkswagen. He helped bring Gods love to the discouraged
but faithful pastors behind the wall. Then in 1989 this seemingly
impenetrable wall fell. Praise God! At Nikolai Church in Leipzig,
Germany, prayer meetings
for peace were held every Monday evening from 1982 until that day in
1989 when around 70,000 gathered outside the church and God turned
their meeting into a revolution of candles and prayers."
How
magnificent is Your name in all the earth! Father, thank you for this
reminder in real time and place that You are sovereign over the rulers
of this world. We continue our prayers now for the Christians in North Korea, Iran,
Afghanistan and all of the strongholds of persecution. Strengthen
believers with Your Word and give them courage to stand firm. Break
the bands of injustice and set the prisoners free.

The
latest in a series of false charges against two Ethiopian evangelists
was put to rest on Friday (Oct. 23) when they were finally released
from prison. Fellow prisoners had accused Temesgen Alemayehu and
Tigist Welde Amanuel of insulting the Ethiopian Orthodox Church
(EOC) after they had successfully appealed charges of accepting bribes
and forcing conversions. Compass Direct News reports that the judge
however rejected witnesses testimony on the most recent charges as
contradictory and of no value. Alemayehu and Amanuel thank you for
praying. The enemy has tried to frustrate us and delay our freedom,
said Amanuel. But through prayers and Gods intervention, we are now
released from prison.
Thank
you, Father, for Your protection of these saints. Empower them now as
they return to ministry that the seed of Your Word might be spread over
their land and yield abundant fruit.
