How are you to day Donna
your welcome in Jesus name

Joshua 3:5

Then Joshua said to the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."

God wants to do incredible things in your life... even things you might consider impossible. Today's verse is proof of this!

The problem with a lot of believers these days is that most of us like to play it safe. We like living life in our little comfort zones. But being a believer in Jesus Christ is not always about playing it safe!

Sometimes, oftentimes, God calls us to step outside of our comfort zone to follow Him. And when you take that leap, what wonderful things He can do in and through you!

Now, you may think it's impossible that God could do something amazing through you. But trust me on this. All you have to do is take that first step of faith. God will never ask you to do anything that He won't give you the strength to do. He will make a path for you. He will direct your steps and blaze a trail before you!

Today, I want to challenge you to be spiritually, emotionally, and physically ready for the adventures God wants to take you on in your life. Take time to read and study His Word, talk to Him through prayer, and bottom line... seek after Him!

And when you're facing what seems impossible, remember what it says in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

God bless

Disappointments and God's Appointment

The poet says,

How many times must hope

end in disappointment?

I hope and pray -

I know promises have been given to me.

But how long must I wait?

Why must I go through this hurt?

How much pain must I bear?

Sometimes I feel that my life

is filled with disappointment.

I keep on trying to find

the joy that you have promised me.

The peace that is supposed to be mine,

when will it come to me?

I feel that I am wasting away

wanting to do your work,

I want to feel that my life will

make a difference in this world.

I sit here on the shelf

watching the world go by -

hoping and hoping again

to see God's promises

finally fulfilled.

I wait for disappointment to turn into God's appointment…

Have you ever been disappointed? Some disappointments may not be a big deal; we may not have gotten exactly what we wanted for Christmas or our birthday, the weather changed to ruin plans for the day, or a movie was not as good as we expected.

Sometimes we may feel that our lives are filled with disappointments. We may have struggles in our family relationships, financial problems, career sit backs, and missed opportunities.

But have you ever felt that you have been a disappointment? We may have made mistakes or feel we didn't fulfill expectations. Sometimes our parents may contribute to our feelings of not just quite making the grade.

I don't think we will ever fully understand how our disappointments deeply effect our lives. They will create weaknesses or enable weaknesses that we may already have.

We know that we must have faith in God, and that He will answer our prayers. But have we ever thought through why we may not have faith?

I feel our disappoints may be a reason. We take a stand. We pray believing we will receive what we are requesting. It doesn't happen. Without realizing it, because of the disappointment, we may hesitate to step out in faith again.

We even think: "Isn't it better to accept things as they are - than to be disappointed again?"

When we are disappointed by family or loved ones, it may directly effect our confidence and trust in each other.

And when we disappoint others and even ourselves we may lose confidence in our abilities or even feel that we are just one big screw up.

I pray that 2008 will be a year of God's appointments for you. If you have gone through times of disappointment, and if some of your disappointments have brought you to the point of giving up, please hold on. There is an appointment in the Father's date book for you.

No matter what your situation, no matter how deep your disappointments have penetrated your heart, you can always - and I mean always - depend on two things. These two things are always there, always constant, no matter how we may feel or perceive our circumstances.

What are these two things? Well, I'm not going to tell you. You are just going to have to guess. Just kidding! You need to lighten up a bit - come on now - you can do it. Come on, smile. Pleeease! Look up to the Father, right now, and smile.

OK, I'm going to tell you. The unfailing love of the Lord, and His goodness.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

anonymous A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR FRED! January 24, 2008 7:35 AM

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. PS. 107:1

You don't have to wait for a sign from Heaven, a band of angels outside your door singing the Alleluia Chorus, or a bolt of lightening striking your enemies. This is yours now!

The Father's love for you is unfailing! He won't stop loving you. Did you hear me? Please understand this. The Father's love holds you, grips you, wraps you in His arms, comforts you, and inspires you. Look at his Son Jesus on the cross, as He loves us while we were still sinners, dying for our transgressions.

The Father is good, and always intends goodness towards us. No matter the circumstances, troubles, and trials - He will always turn for the good - all things that pertain to us.

God is love and He is good. This is His character, and He will never change.

May I ask you a question? (Well, I realize that I already did, but I have to ask you another). How do you feel about that? Sometimes I think we take His love and goodness for granted, or we may be so overwhelmed by our circumstances that we begin to doubt that He loves us and desires good for us.

I want you to know that the Father's love will not fail you. (I am standing on a chair shouting this, just so you know).

The Father's goodness always intends good for you. (I am on my knees begging here, so that you will stand on a chair and shout this!).

Now thank Him. Lift up your hearts and thank the Father for His love and goodness for you.

We don't have to wait for circumstances to change. This is something that we can do right here and right now! We can bask in His riches of love and goodness, and live in thanksgiving because of it.

Our disappointments will melt away as we encounter God' appointments. As a matter of fact, God appointments are driven by our disappointments. All those things we have lost, God will replace with His gifts of blessing.

I pray that 2008 will be a year of God's appointments for you. I also pray that you will have a Psalm 107 year.

4 Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.

5 They were hungry and thirsty,
and their lives ebbed away.

6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.

7 He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,

9 for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

You may feel that you are in the desert, waiting to find your place, a place to belong. You want to "fit in," and find a family and a home. You may need a job, looking for a career, or your ministry at Church. Right now you are wondering if God will use you, as the world goes by seemingly unaware that you are there.

You look for His goodness and times of refreshing, and thirst for His love and fullness of joy. You wonder if the desert will never end, and God's abundant blessing seems to be a distant memory.

Cry out to the Lord: the Father will lead you out of the desert, Christ will bring you to your home, and the Holy Spirit will satisfy the hungry and thirsty with good things!

10 Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom,
prisoners suffering in iron chains,

11 for they had rebelled against the words of God
and despised the counsel of the Most High.

12 So he subjected them to bitter labor;
they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom
and broke away their chains.

15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,

16 for he breaks down gates of bronze
and cuts through bars of iron.

How do we handle disappointment?  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

anonymous A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR FRED! January 24, 2008 7:42 AM

How do we handle disappointment?

Sometimes we are unable to deal with the guilt that we may have disappointed others, or even may have hurt someone we love.< P>

So we blame and point our fingers at everyone and everything else but ourselves; making ourselves as the ultimate victim. We become bitter, and find ourselves bound with chains of hate. We become chained in a prison of our own making.

It can be that our parents never gave us acceptance, so that we never feel that we measure up. We end up by pushing others down to stay on top, always trying to prove ourselves.

Cry out to the Lord; the Father will save you, the Son will give you His light, and the Holy Spirit will free you from your chains!

17 Some became fools through their rebellious ways
and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.

18 They loathed all food
and drew near the gates of death.

19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.

20 He sent forth his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.

21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men.

22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings
and tell of his works with songs of joy
.

You may blame yourself for all your disappointments, running them through your mind, and wringing your hands. You constantly beat yourself up by wondering if you could have done something different, or if you would have said something that could have changed circumstances.

You see all the failures pointing their fingers at you, marching toward you with their menacing eyes, and you feel that you would rather die than to face them everyday.

So you give up and rebel. You escape the guilt by escaping in sin: the world is drown out, and the accusing voices are dulled in the back of your mind. And as you escape the guilt you destroy your life, and hurt the ones you love even more.

Cry out to the Lord; the Father will heal you, Christ will raise you in new life, and the Holy Spirit will fill your life with thanksgiving!

23 Others went out on the sea in ships;
they were merchants on the mighty waters.

24 They saw the works of the LORD,
his wonderful deeds in the deep.

25 For he spoke and stirred up a tempest
that lifted high the waves.

26 They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths;
in their peril their courage melted away.

27 They reeled and staggered like drunken men;
they were at their wits' end.

28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.

29 He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea were hushed.

30 They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven.

31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men.

32 Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people
and praise him in the council of the elders.

You are stepping out in faith; starting a ministry, a career, a new business, or a new family. You have launched out on a voyage into the deep, with only adventure filling your soul.

But the waves are pounding, and the wind and rain is flying at your face. We encounter disappointment; people my have let us down, circumstances change, and things go wrong, and the money runs low. We feel that everything will be lost.

Cry out to the Lord; the Father will still the storm, Christ will make the waves will grow calm, and the Holy Spirit will bring you to your desired haven!

I pray that 2008 will be a year of God's appointments for you, and that Psalm 107 will come true for you.

I pray that 2008 will be a year of God's appointments for you, and that Psalm 107 will come true for you.

Rest in His promises. You will arrive exactly on time.

43 Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.

The poet says,

Please consider the great love of the Lord.

The love that He gives to us freely,

and the goodness He always intends for us.

Lift up your heart in thanksgiving

and exalt the Father who loves you.

He will turn your disappointment into His appointment.

You will find where you belong

And Jesus will free your chains and bring you out of the darkness.

He will heal your heart

and the Holy Spirit will bring you to your desired haven.
