Hi I am Janet.

I wanted to join here and get help.  I am newly married to a man who is "stupid" about the environment.  I have gotten him to recycle but to struggle to get him to eat heathly.  We would love to make babies.  We are older and I have heath problems that complicate everything.  We have no insurance right now but need it desparatly.  How can I find a holistic doctor in my area who will treat both of us.  Maybe we can't afford to go until we have insurance but please help us find a way to get to the help we need and doesn't ask for stupid tests just to do it for money.  We want health but not medicated all the time.  That seems to be what every doctor does.  Can anyone help me find someone who help medically cruelty free?  I am very into the beauty cruelty free already even if my hubby doesn't get why I buy what I buy.

Hi Everyone,

I am Erika from the Netherlands and a vegan for 12 years now. When I was about 4  years old, I didn't want to eat meat, because I knew it was from a living creature and how can you eat something with a face. I was a vegetarian for many years, till I read about killing babychickens and babycows for producing eggs and milk.  The choice was made very easy to be a vegan. I never have ever worn leather, because I think it is as bad as fur; it is also the skin of an animal.

I try to live my life without doing harm to any living creature and I hope I succeed in this.

Hi all; just in case anyone didn't know; I didn't mean croccodile leather, I meant the rubber type clog shoes with arch support. I have them in a rainbow of colors from black to lime green. I do wear Birkenstocks on advise of my doctor and they are comfortable; I do not wear the suede or leather ones, only the ones made of fabric, rubber, or synthetic nu buck, and try to get w/o the leather footbed, instead all cork.

Thanks so much for all the important information ladies. I've been sending emails all morning.. er.. afternoon lol. I don't wear much make up, but I do wear Bare Minerals.  I'm really oblivious to most make up. Which is probably why I don't use a lot of it or use different kinds. My skin is very picky and naturally oily.  I will be changing my deordarant because I do use Dove. Thanks for starting this group.

I want to do everything in my power to help animals.

Usually, the cruelty-free products are better for your skin too. Does anyone know if Bare Escentuals mineral makeup is cruelty free? I believe it is; that is what I use, it looks very natural and lets your skin breathe. I am going to check.

Looks like we all will learn something, help our furry companions, and have fun!

Sophia, have you ever tried the Crocs shoes? I have same problems and they are very supportive.

 me too vegan all the way  since i saw rosemarys baby the film! when i was 17 1/2. i never looked back. stopping leather took much longer. and now trying  all sorts of cosmetics  that are natural. the shoe  problem is still a huge problem  for me. because of my super narrow high arched feet  an d one is broken an d never healed correctly.  i am  though finally next year going to have custom shoes made. an dthat shoul dtake care if the problem fo rme. turning m y back on great ly designed clothing or bags  in leathe ris  a non issue .  i just   cant handle  wearin g o r eating a dead animal. but some of us on the group may not be there yet. so  we must respect that.
