Becoming Visible in Mystical States of Consciousness When I read about dark matter, I began to realize that it fit in pretty well with what the mystics have been talking about. Mystics in all parts of the world have tended to see the universe as actually being composed of different layers of matter, different types of matter, most of which were said to be invisible to our usual narrow vision. But in mystical states of consciousness, these other forms of matter would become visible to them. "Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is." ~ Gary Zukav
On the flip side, we gain create positive energy in our mind-body by giving love and accepting energies to ourselves and others. In fact, the vibration of love will literally create physical healing in the body. The more loving energy you send towards yourself, the healthier you will be and the more energy you will have. The vibration of love has been scientifically proven to alter the shape and structure of physical molecules such as water. According to current scientific studies, water molecules are directly effected by the words, sounds and thoughts they are exposed to. Since your physical body is made up of more than 70% water, it is continuously impacted by the vibrations of negative or positive words you send into it.
The universe is designed to be reflective. Whatever you put out comes back to you. This is called the Law of Action and Reaction, the Law of Karma, or is simply referred to using the phrase, "What goes around comes around."
However, in spiritual work, there is a way to increase what comes around. What goes around can actually come back as more than you gave, and this involves a paradox.
In your spiritual practices, you can generate a deep feeling of peace and inspiration; one which brings a wonderful sense of spiritual upliftment. For example, in your meditations, you may become inspired with a vision of a future world filled with peace and freedom for all.
You may see, in your mind's eye, a future world where everyone on the planet is safe, and where you can travel to anywhere on the planet with ease. In this future, you see that everyone is consciously aware of their heart's connection to the hearts of each and every other human being on the planet. In this supportive environment, everyone has complete freedom to express their unique creativity as their contribution to a loving society.
As you breathe deeply of the clean, fresh air in that vision of the future, you feel your connection to the Mother Earth and to the life-giving Sun which shines ceaselessly upon our world. Then, you send your love and gratitude to the Earth and the Sun, and wait in quiet anticipation as those great, conscious beings send their love and inspiration to you in return.
While in that state of deep inspiration, it occurs to you that most of humanity desperately needs this type of upliftment; that most souls on this planet today are starving in a self-created, spiritual wilderness. This brings you to the realization that you have the opportunity to be of service to humanity through an act of self-sacrifice; through an act of giving up that which you have in order to help others who would not otherwise be helped.
While in this state, the sense of unconditional love that you have for humanity virtually begs you to help those who are not yet equipped to do this for themselves. If you now give that state, that energy, that feeling of inspiration away to the group consciousness of humanity, then you have created a vacuum within yourself.
By the law of action and reaction, that vacuum must be filled. However, an act of self-sacrifice in service to others has a side-effect: It raises the frequency of your consciousness higher than it was before. So, when the vacuum becomes filled with inspiration and upliftment from the universe, it is filled with an even higher frequency of consciousness than before.
Because of that, you will have become more inspired and more uplifted than ever before. By the act of sacrificing that which you had, you will actually gain more than you had before. Such is the paradox of love in action.
It is also the basis of the ancient path of Karma Yoga - the pathway to God through action and service.
By giving spiritual energy to mankind, you tread a pathway of spiritual action. This powerful pathway of giving what you have, in order to inspire others, is one that leads you to continually higher states of inspiration along your own spiritual path.

Q: How does my daily mediation practice heal the planet?Quantum physicists have shown that a unified field of intelligence gives rise to everything in the universe―our body, the stars, the galaxies, subatomic particles, and all else. The cosmos is the extended body we all share, and our every thought and intention ripples out into the universal consciousness and has an effect.
A:
When we meditate we quiet our mind and slip into the silence that’s the source of all happiness. There we discover increasing levels of bliss, inspiration, and love. Our experience of these powerful states creates vibrations that help heal the planet. As a famous Vedic verse states, “It is our duty to the rest of mankind to be perfectly healthy, because we are ripples in the ocean of consciousness, and when we are sick, even a little, we disrupt cosmic harmony.” Through meditation, we expand our awareness of the blissful nature of divine intelligence and contribute to greater peace and love in our world.
The Vedic rishis declare, “I am not in the world; the world is in me.” From the perspective of universal awareness, everything is consciousness―everything is Spirit―in disguise. Your inner world of memories, desires, fantasies, and feelings expresses the subjective face of consciousness. Your outer world of form and phenomena expresses the objective projection of consciousness. The environment is your extended body dynamically exchanging energy and information with your personal body. There is no “there” out there. The ecology is you in a less localized state.
Recognizing this inherent inextricability, evolving beings treat the planet and its living inhabitants with reverence and responsibility. With awareness that all beings are the One Being masquerading itself, we live in balance with our ecosystem, making choices that reflect the intimate relationship between our individuality and our universality. We minimize our exploitation of the environment whenever possible. I recently asked my young grandchildren to elaborate the things they could do that would reflect their love and caring for Mother Earth. Here’s a partial list of what they came up with:
Turn off the lights when we leave a room.
Take shorter showers.
Eat only organic foods.
Don’t leave the refrigerator door open.
Recycle bags, cans, and bottles.
Use less bottled water.
Be nice to bugs, plants, and animals.
Pick up trash when they see it.
Buy fewer plastic toys that have lot of packaging.
Drive a hybrid (we bought one recently).
We can learn from our kids, who tend to personify everything around them―their dolls, caterpillars, flowers. From the innocence of children to the awakening of yogis, taking the world personally spontaneously leads to treating it with compassion. As Daniel Quinn told us in The Story of B, we don’t need to save our souls―our souls are already whole. If we care about humanity, we do need to save our planet. It starts with the choices we make today.

Letter from Deepak
Gaia by Alex Grey
At this very moment you are seamlessly connected to the cosmos. The same deep intelligence that streams through the rivers flows through your bloodstream, and the same breath that nourishes your cells also animates the life of a rain forest. Your body and the universe arose from the same Divine source, obey the same principles, and are continually communicating with each other. In our modern culture, however, most of us have an entrenched habit of looking at the world “out there” as separate from ourselves. We have been taught that intelligence is the exclusive property of the human brain and that it sets us apart from plants, animals, and the rest of nature.
One of the sad consequences of the belief in humanity’s separateness is a sense of isolation and loneliness. Before the modern era, no one felt stranded on a rock spinning in the universe, surrounded by only a black void. I find that image, which is at the root of the superstition of science, horrifying and false. In reality, my body and the universe are made up of the same molecules, and the inner and outer worlds are forever connected.
To experience the infinite ocean of Being that flows through all of us, we need to take time every day to open ourselves to the gifts of nature. Here are a few ways to do so:
Walk barefoot on the earth for a few minutes. Feel the nourishing energy of the earth flowing into your body through the soles of your feet.
Take a walk along the ocean or another natural body of water. Let the cooling influence of the water permeate you.
Stand in the sunshine, allowing the light and warmth to infuse your being. Acknowledge the life-giving energy of the sun.
Walk in a beautiful park, forest, or other area with lush vegetation and breathe in the life force of the plants. The best times to do this are right before dawn and right after sunset.
Go outside or into your backyard and listen to the healing sounds of the natural world―the buzzing of bees, the wind blowing through the leaves, and the calls of wild birds. If you live in a city where you can’t regularly hear natural sounds, try listening to recordings of rain forests, ocean waves, or waterfalls.
Gaze up at the moon and stars at night, allowing your awareness to expand into the heavens and beyond.
When you drink in Nature through your senses, you deepen your awareness of the great silent intelligence flowing through all things. You nourish your mind, body, and spirit as you connect to the divine love of Being.
