Weeeeee! March 19, 2005 3:52 PM

Hello all,

I am now officially a rat-mum. Yesterday I started to write about bringing my Gwendolyn home, but my PC went down in the middle of it all, so I decided to wait til today. So, yesterday I brought my rat-baby Gwendolyn home at last, along with my daughters rat, Bibernelle. They love their new home/cage, and after a while where they sat in a corner looking around, they started to investigate their new place. They also had one play fight after another, and played "tag" , and had lots to eat and drink to. Gwendolyn is 6 days younger than Bibernelle, but she is the maternal one, ( and a bit bigger) buildig a nest for Bibernelle. Bibernelles' mum died giving birth, so Bibernelle and her siblings have had a foster mum. Anyway, today we are a bit disappointed, 'cause they have been sleeping almost all day, which isn't much fun for us. But I guess that if they are happy, we are to. They probably need the rest after the stress of moving to a new location and so on.

I have put a couple of pics in my album, so if you are interested, please take a look , because I can't find out how to put them in here.

YAY! Congrats! I looked at your pictures in your profile and she's absolutely adorable!!! I want mine!!!! ::sniff:: I have to wait a few months yet though.

I was curious though (if you don't mind me asking), I really like the looks of that cage that is in some of the pictures. If you don't mind telling me, how much did that cost you?

Hi Auna D :) March 20, 2005 2:55 PM

Thank you for taking time to view my photos, and thank you for your kind words. The price of the cage would convert, in US dollars, to about 90-100 dollars. The hammocks and shelf/floor I made myself, and the varnish for the shelf (water-based) was a bit expensive. Then there's all the toys and huts and so on. I guess it amounts to about 150- 200 dollars with cage and all.

I can imagine how much you are longing to get your rat, 'cause we had an awfull time waiting. But believe me, it's worth the wait!

Friendly from Terese.

So adorable!!! March 21, 2005 8:51 PM

She looks so much like our boy Axl who we just had to put to sleep on Saturday .  It's nice to see another sweet face like that, with the adorable pink eyes.  Congrats on finally being able to bring her home!  She's very lucky to have you as a mom .  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Thank you Maggie My Gwendolyn is more fun for every day that goes by. She's very active, and does lots of funny things.

Rainbow Bridge March 24, 2005 5:36 PM

Did anyone know that there is a Yogurt Drop bar at the Rainbow Bridge? Yup, it's there. And ratties can step up to the bar and have ANY kind of yogie they want: a strawberry yogie soy shake, honey yogie cookies, yogie peanuts and pretzels - anything they want.

Lots of my ratties are at the bar. I'm sure Axl has found his way there already.
