looking for light-grey rat January 19, 2006 11:03 PM

My boyfriend and I have been blessed to have beautiful ratty babies in our lifes. Unfortunately, we have an older light-grey female rat that is coming to and end in this life. I would like to find another light-grey rat to fill her place in my boyfriends heart (I know that sounds cheesy, but I think it will help him mourn her). If you no anybody who is a breeder in California, preferably the LA area, let me know.

i don't know about l.a. but i know of one in the bay area, she has the sweetest rats. i have one from her that is over 3 and is so sweet. her name is linda and her web page is http://www.thecraftyrat.com/  also debbie "the rat lady" may be able to help you find some one, she's in northern ca(chico, same as me) and her page is http://ratfanclub.org/ or you can look at the humane society, i know up here they get rats so you may want to check there. in my experience rescue rats can make the best pets because they know how that things can be worse and seem to be grateful.

shamless plug, i love the rat fan club and the rat lady, everyone should check out the site and join if they can.

Hello all February 06, 2006 1:27 AM

I have had no luck finding a light-grey rat. I unfortunately lost a little white rat I adopted from the pet store days after bringing her home. The poor little soul had little chance surviving being brought up in the conditions she endured. My boyfriend found her in her cage lying flat on her side. We buried her on the infamous Mohulland Drive in Los Angeles (I hope I spelled that correctly). Currently I have two little hooded aguti monsters tearing up my apartment as well as my older light grey female who has the honors of sleeping with me. Every night she sleeps on my feet or under my neck (no worries...I'm conscience of wear she is every moment). Since she is sick I don't want to leave her alone.  [ send green star]
