We had a very hot day here yesterday, about 108f, very hard to handle as it was also very humid, today thank goodness it has cooled down.  Monslisa, thanks for being a great host, it is very much appreciated.  Jean, it sounds like you will be having a very busy time with your studies etc.  I hope you do well.  Brenda, take care and look after yourself.  I will get back online after I get back from my vacation towards the end of January.  Take care everyone,

taking a break for Christmas and plan to hopefully get started in January on my 2nd bathroom....also, plan to get certified in my job, Cardiovascular nursing in 2010 so will have to work on Continuing education hours to meet the requirements for my PCCN certification...with that I'll supposedly be able to increase my job level from a level 1 RN to a level 5 RN since I have my Masters in Nursing....who boy, I'll be busy needless to say....

Hello everyone,

Busy time of the year, just celebrated my mum's 80th on the weekend, had a great time.  Restaurant was right on the beach, it was a warm night and we went for a walk along the beach afterwards. Bliss..  Hope everyone is healthy and getting things done for the holiday season. 

 I have only 2 weeks left at work and then we go away on holidays for 2 weeks.  I need the break and am looking forward to it.  We are going up north( where the weather is nearly tropical) but most importantly the water won't be cold.  Can't wait.

jean  omg  dear  never e ver  turn  down  advice   and  it  was  good  advice  to i  run  a  new  thingy  that  ya  plug  int e  way  that  throws  off  menthol  vapors  helps  to  keep  all there  airflo;s  open  i  even   use  one  in my  room  cause  i  just  love  the  smell  of  it.......but  with  daughter  and  the  ashma  cant  keep  the  heat  up  anyway  but  i  am  gratefull  for t he  advice 

still  good  here  i  thinnk  we  are  at   22  right  now  but  got   down  to  -1   thru  the  night  brrrrrrrr..

will  start   christmas  baking      one  day  this  week  and  finish  up  with  wrapping  gifts  then  thats  the   end  of  it

Beatrix, koodos to your boys; those young ladies should thank their lucky stars above for having such caring friends like your boys. Those parents who put the party on should be @@#$#%$##, it just burns me up when adults set the young adults up for such a catastrophe like that.

Brenda, my heartful prayers go to you and your grandchildren and daughter, your 15 year old. You do have your hands full. And, I'm sorry to see that the "mother" of your grandchildren walked out the front door leaving you to "care" for her children. You be sure to take care of yourself also. Have you tried putting a humidifier in the room with the "kids" when the heater is on?---sometimes, dry, warm air aggrivates their coughs, so  pan full of water over the hearter vent (if you can do this) will help put moisture back in the air so you can still keep the rest of the house "warm".

I tend to run off at the mouth with "assistance" when I'm not asked for it...sorry

Well, Saturday is here, and I'm going to try and get Xmas cards ready to mail off...it's wet, and cold and miserable outside, so I'll try next week to get to the bank to get cash to send to my family members for Xmas.

Hello Monalisa,  the weather sounds very cold to me, while we are sweltering here, I think I need a bit of your cold weather and you could do with a bit of our heat, so no extremes.  I will catch up with you on taboo one day, when things quieten down a bit.  The boys formal went well, but sad to say the parents that held the party afterwards were very irresponsible and let the 16 year old kids drink.  Which is illegal in Australia.  My boys and their friend did not drink but spent their whole night looking after the girls in their group, who were blind drunk.  They all went to a friends place afterwards to talk, but my kids spent all their time making sure the girls did not choke on their vomit, they even had to put one in the coma position she was that bad.  I really don't know what is wrong with some parents!!!but so proud of my wonderful boys.

was  a  very  long  nite  here  and  a    stressfull  day  so  far

i  have  all  3  kids  out  of  school sick  all  3  have  eyes  infections        NOT  PINK  EYE     one  has  sore  throat  and  bad  cough..another  ear  infection  and  crying    to where  my head  hurts....  and  the  third  runny  nose  and  diahria  fun  fun fun  and  of  course   there  mother  walks  out the  door   such  a  loving  comforting   person  she is        GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

got t hem  all  resting  now  and  ilam  gonna  sanitize    and  do  laundry a s  they r est  and  get  ready  for  round  2....WE A RE  AT  11  DEGREES  HERE   and w hen  i  turn the  ehat  on  they  all  start  coughing  so  iam  sitting her  freezinggggg  to  death...sweaters  slippers blanket  over  my  shoulders....what a    mess

and  yes  jean  we  did  all the  testing    polyanna  my  daughter  which  is  (15)  now  has  be  ill since  birth  from  extreem  ashma  and  cushings  disease    along  with  exzma  dermitis  and    alot  of  food  allergies   some  of  which  are  deadly  like  the  peanut    and  anything  high  in  protiene

becasue  of  the  steriods  which has  been  most  of her  life  shes  developed  childhood obesty  and  that  in tuen  has  casued  high  blood pressure'the  heart  itself   yes  has  excess  amount  of  fat  around  it  weve  been  trying   diets  after diets  but becasue of  food  allergies  its really hard  and  she cant  exercise  as  much  casue   that  kicks  in the  ashma  its  one  vicious  circle  here   i  take  her to  specialest    ashma  clinics,,  weight management  renal drs and  heart  specialist  now  along  with  some MH  counsling  it  has  been  helping   she  also  suffers  with  eating  disorded ....so  hopefully  by  grace of    god  we  can    all work  togather   here  ans  get this child  some proper  help  and  all be  on the  same  page...

when  she  was    a  baby     her grandmother  was  dying  with  cancer  so we opt  to  not   let her  have  the  live  viruses    she  needed  as  immunations  as  so  the  grandmother   could  hold  and  love her befor  she died,,,,and  everything  went hay  wire  from  there

in  casue one  dont  know   if  a   person is  receiving  cemo  and     you ahve  a  child  around  that  person  if the  immunations  ae a  live  virus   you  can  then   casue  the  cemo patient  to  get polio   ..i  hope that  helped  you  understand       a  bit  more  i  wish  i  could  explain it  all    better  but i  cant.lol  its been  awfull  but we  deal with it

Brenda, glad to hear your daughter's check up went well, so she's not a "diabetic" according to her physician, or was her glucose better this checkup?  Did she have an AIC labl drawn to check her fasting blood glucose level?  How old is your daugher, Brenda?  I didn't quite understand what her doctor told you about her heart--did he tell you and her that it's "fatty on the left side"?  She'll have to really keep an eye on that through diet and especially exercising ...

well  sure  as    a  sandwich  needs  bread  we   got  our  snow,,only  not  a  very  large  amout  for  it  was  mostly ice  ..what  we  did  get  was  heavy  wet  snow  which  made  it  extreemly bad  for  driving,,,,,but  on the  good  note  it  was  a  beatutifull  setting   last  night  when  myself  and  surrounding  neighbors  had  our  christmas  lights on,,i could.not  seem  to pull myself  away from the  window  with its  beauty...

i  left  my  fire  ring  out  from  fall...   and   over t he  weekend iam  gonna  try  a  winter   fire  for the  first  time

going  shopping   with  ny  nephew   sat,,,its  aways  a  treat...ill  lafff  till i  pee  myself   for  he   loves to  spend  money  but  hates  to  shop  and  does   more  women  watching then  anything.....and  i  feed  right into  to it...yes  hes not young  hes  33  and  still  single...then  well  go  out   for dinner  togather  ....and  soon  to  start t he christmas  baking..

dr  went  ok   no trouble  at  all  actully  the    new  place  was  a  breeze  to g et  to  sugar  was  ruled  out   THANK  GOD.  however  theres  extreme  tissue  build   up  around  the  left  veritcal  of  the  heart....something thats   got  to  be   watched.....will be   keeping on her  with  diet.....well  tis  the  season  i  guess  here  we  are  in  for   our  first  real  snow  storm    late   tonightinto  tomorrw  calling   for  2-4  inches..........LET  IT  SNOW  LET  IT  SNOW  LET IT  SNOW...LOL

Such a cute cat, Olga...how are you doing?  Beatrix, I had to giggle with your note, I just about had a heart attack about my daughter ...Sharon, I'm sorry about your son and daugter in law...my mother tends to not say anything to her two daughters who are married but talks to me about her concerns for her son in laws and grandchildren, so I pass on the information to my sisters/brother in laws/niece/nephew in my own way without saying it comes from my mom...My sisters tend to forget that she raised us girls and has "common sense" when it comes to giving assistance and good advice...I love my Mom and Dad both so much.

Very busy time of the year.  My boys had their year 10 formal on Friday night and they looked great!!(from an unbiased mother of course).  Can't believe they will be in year 11 next year.  They are now on their long summer break.  My mother is coming over from Germany on Monday and we will be celebrating her 80th the following weekend, so lots on.

Today been such a lazy day but a nice one as far the spirit goes!

Lost my pooch i thought and was petrified!LOL!I put him on his leash to go do his business and went to get him and the leash was not moving and first thing to mind was its hunting season my heart was racing so i frantically called him and god love him he is a good kiddo he came running right in the house with the first call to him!I am glad he listens i would be lost with out him!He is my best lil buddy!

December is now here and I bet everyone is busy busy busy....I have to do so much shopping but been busy with my daughter In Law and trying to help her out.  The tummy is geting bigger and bigger and she is finding it hard to move around.  I will go with her Thursday for another ultrasound to see how my 2 little twin Grandsons are doing.  Then my youngest son tells me tonight he is not sure if he can stay with his wife much longer as she is cheating on him and beleive it or not on line.  This is so many times now so I try and keep out of it.  I know what I would like to say to him but I better not.  Then I have the house listed for sale in  Welland and I just hope it sells fast.  Mom is keepng me busy running around for her to so my days are crazy right now.  Miss you all and so good to see all the posts.

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely thanksgiving for those of you in the US.  It has been so hot here, have not had the energy to do anything much, but thank goodness we have had a couple of cooler days.  I find I cannot cope with 100f heat and humidity very well anymore.  This is normally what we get in February, so it is early.

My boys have been getting ready for their year 10 formal on Friday night, my goodness they are looking so mature in their clothes.  I had no say in what they are wearing, but they have a great sense of style, not at all like their mother who has none.  Monalisa, I am glad you are feeling a little better.  Jean, I hope you have a good day at Christmas even though you will be working.  Everyone else, hi.

I like the back ground...it's time for Xmas ....went to Target the other day, OMG...people wall to wall, and couldn't hardly push a buggy...have decided to probably get Gift cards for my niece and nephew, and maybe gift cards for restaurants for my sisters and their husbands. I'll be working Xmas, so maybe I'll be able to celebrate it on Saturday with my parents/sister Tracy. Don't know if my sister Lea is coming yet or not since she and her husband had an emergency trip down to SC; my brother in law's father passed away before Thanksgiving, so that may put a damper on the Xmas holiday, so I don't know. Have to write my sister and see if she'll be coming down or spending it in MD.

Well friends i am tired been at this for awhile with out sleep.ITs easy to do this in the late hours.For some reason care2 runs alot faster!Guess what i am headed to get some shut eye...Its Sunday so its a lazy one now for me!

Lots of food left over come and get it!

Being i still have this virus goin on but not as bad as it was i chose to stay at home and have a stag meal but still cooked as if i was having the whole family over....Though my niece and foster daughter annie came to eat a bit and visit there is so much left over!LMAO!You cannot just cook a thanksgiving meal for one!Everything was delicious as always and i made stuffing different this year!

Brenda gave me a spinach ball stuffing recipe...Well it sounded so good but instead i made spinach stuffing for the turkey and you use fresh spinach and let me tell you was the best turkey stuffing i have had thus far.....YUM YUM!

Now i hope i am not sick at xmas time because i so missed spending it with those i love....though i was tickled seeing annie and chelsie!

I hope everyone else had a fabulous dinner....

Jean the duck and oyster stuffing sounded wonderful have had a few times...Its very good....

Well the head is still stuffy but the fevers are gone and most of the body aches...I go into the doc again wednesday to get another check over!And i think she needs to put me on a completely diff antibiotic for the sinuses because it refuses to let up!I pray that none of you catch this bad virus,its not fun!

Monalisa, I'm very glad to hear that you are feeling better, there is nothing like feeling healthy.  Can't do much at the moment as we have had days of temps being over 100f and I'm finding it very difficult to cope with this sort of heat.  Can't get any relief at night time either as it is soo hot even then.  'm so over this weather, might migrate to the antarctic to get relief.

Hello everyone hope your having a blessed friday!

I am feeling much better...Been on antibiotics which didnt work and about 5 different over the counter flu meds which soothed but didnt work and even 3 prescribed cough medicines which didnt work...But check this out...I went to pharmacy today at my witts end and seriously in need of something that would clear my head sneezing eyes watering constant runny nose and severe head aches mainly from sneezing contantly!I ask the pharmacist Debbie today if she could please help me nd explain my symptoms and all of what meds i had ecently tried and she says i know what will help!Its call sudogest!Can you believe i left the pharmacy bought me a can of orange sodapop took 2 of these pills of *Sudogest*in about 25 minutes my head started to clear ,nose stoppped running,headache gone,i can breath,eyes stopped watering and its been 3 hours since i took the new meds and a miracle i have not sneezed once!Amen!And to think of all the money that was spent on other meds and prescription meds even that didnot work and a simple little box of 24 pills at the price of 2.99 worked!Amazing!So i just hope now it comtinues to work...This is the best i have felt in 1 month of dealing with this virus!So i suggest if ya got it and nothing seems to help get rid of it try this medicine....

I am gonna eat like a little piggy today to i can actually even tatse and smell food which i have not been able to for almost to weeks!Yes i am a bit overwhelmed and excited....But to think all this time a little box at the cost of 2.99 worked!And my own doctor could not even suggest it....Makes one think about what todays doctors really know!I think i will be seeing my pharmacist before my doctor from now on!So i give props to todays pharmacist!They deserve more credit then is given!

Not much goin on today for me but to catch up on some cleaning today a rid away the lingering germs from me being sick and spend some over due quality time with my pooch and kits and birds...With me being sick they have not had the usual attention i give them...I think i am looking forward to it as much as them..Especially my pooch codie jo...he has been such a good little pal sticking right with me and ya know its true animals certainly know when your not well...In his own little way he tried soothin me comforting me with closeness or a close cuddle or a nudge of his little nose against my cheeks saying i am here mom it will be okay!Amazing how gods little creatures can become one with you!

Hello Che Jean and everyone........

Another day!Was feelin a bit better yesterday and broke my fevers but woke this morning with some of this crap starting all over...Just feel so fatigued!Hopefully as each new day comes i am feeling better then the day before and thank god for each new day!I only hope no one else gets this dang virus!Not fun at all!The fevers and fatigue seem to be the worse........I cant stand bein in bed day after day which rest is the best medicine but its gettin to me..........So here i am up for a bit and trying to catch up and stay intouch!

Yes jean finding the kittens a good place made me happy!Was a bit worried about it for awhile.But if i had to keep all 4 of them i would have!Thats just my love for animals!Now my next step is gettin mommy spaded and as soon as lil trixie is old enough gettin here spaded!Daisy is already back into heat and she surely has no problem letting me know it with crys!But isimply get her and hold her and whisper to her that she has to be a good girl and no more sneakin out looking for boys.LOL!For some reason comforting her seems to work for the most part!I do find her still searching the house for the other kits but i am sure that will pass in time...

Beatrix,i am so happy to know your foot is better dear!And was cheerful to see you still here with us!

Hope you are all OK.  Jean, you are certainly getting a lot of work done, looking forward to some pics when youy have finished.  Monalisa, I'm glad you had some warm days, sounds like your winters are quite severe.  We have another hot day today, about 90f, so I walked the dog a little early.  My foot is slowly getting better thanks, I go back to the specialist in Jan.  Boys have just finished their school certificate and finish school in about 2 weeks time, so they will be having an extra long summer break.Hubby finishes for his break just before Christmas. Brenda, I hope you are ok.

no, not done yet in the bathroom...you'd think it would fly right by and be done...NOT !!!, Murphy has butted in every time...now, the weather is damp, wet, gloomy due to the storm coming in from Florida...well, I still plan to get the ceiling painted today and hopefully, the walls, maybe. I'll turn the heater on low and close the door to dry it a little faster. I had to plug up the hole in the wall since I removed the very old medicine cabinet...oh, and thanks for the reminder, I do plan to take before and after pictures...it won't look grand, the room, but I will learn what not to do here, and then do it right in the next bathroom...haven't started on the kitchen yet, maybe next year in January

Hello Sunday afternoon, nope, didn't get any painting done, but I did patch the hole left in my wall from removing the old medicine cabinet; have a new bigger cabinet to go up over my toilet though and have ordered a pretty mirror to hang on my wall...well, that is once I get the spackelting to dry and then paint the wall...I'll then hang up everything...that is if Murphy doesn't raise his ugly head, AGAIN, and cause more problems

good afternoon Mona and everyone,

well, I've taken a break; went out and bought a new medicine cabinet/mirror, and of course, it won't fit the hole...the hole measure 13 1/2 inches by 17, which a mirror that size is not to be dound, smallest I saw and bought, stupid me, is 14 X 20...so, I'll take the new mirror back and and I replaced the old. I did get a new cabinet and some other shelves for the bathroom though. I also am waiting for the new "spackelting" to dry on the window frame, so the walls will have another day to dry and hopefully, by Saturday, I'll be able to start on painting the ceiling and walls.
