Your River June 02, 2006 9:55 AM

Everyone that is not on the direct coast lives in a watershed.  Check out to see if your river or watershed area has a organization that is devoted to protecting and enjoying the waters in your area.

Many lakes have lake associations.  So look for watershed associations, lake associations, land trusts, and river groups.  Also check out special interest areas like bass fishing on the ____
River, or boating etc.

The above is by no means a completet listing of events. Many areas have "Riverkeeper" organizations or "Friends" of rivers/watersheds. Check them out and I'm sure there will be something happening in your area..... or.... start your own celebration activity!!
