I got to this place rather strangely, by receiving a green star from one of your group members recently.
I have taken time to look closely at this member's various groups and found that she was a member of Hands-On Healing.
I have recently begun to recognize that hands can, in fact, heal. I massage my (grown) daughter's head when she has a tension headache instead of having her take a "pill". She reports that it seems "magical" to her.
I am very interested in exploring this concept of touch healing further for several reasons, one of them personal.
I suffer from an obsessive-compulsive disorder and I have given up trying to "cure" myself either with drugs or with therapy. My particular "problem" is a result of being profoundly "wounded" in my earliest childhood years and I am intrigued by the idea of spiritual healing that is not in any way religious as I am an atheist.
Thank you for allowing me to join your group. I only hope to learn from all of you special people.
Welcome to the group! Glad you decided to join and hope you find the posts here to be helpful. Anyone can enjoy and benefit from hands on healing regardless of religious beliefs or the lack there of. Hands on healing, spiritual healing and therapeutic touch (the medical community's version of hands on healing) are all basically the same thing. Different practices might use and explain the use of energies around us in different ways... but all forms of hands on healing do focus on utilizing the energies around us to promote wellness and health.
Some of us see a spiritual or religious tie to the physical process and others are more interested in the science of it. Personally, I see a balance of both being a good road for me.
That said you are welcome to join in discussions and post any questions you might have.
