If you have chronic pain that has lasted for six months or longer, you may be eligible to participate in a research study to examine the effectiveness of a new Internet-based pain self-help program. More information is available on the NPF blog.

I have been selected to participate in this study!!! I'm so excited....stuff like this is so interesting to me. I only wish there were more opportunities in my area to be involved in studies. They are building a medical school here and the local hospital that I used to work for is now a "clinic" model (like the cleveland clinic) so who knows what may happen with all of those things going on. Make me want to work even more desperately! I miss work so badly ...it is one of my major factors for depression. Had my pump replaced last Friday...all is well. I'm still a bit sore but nothing out of the ordinary. I am going to ask to have my meds in my pump changed from Dilaudid to fentanyl. Dilaudid makes me so sleepy I can hardly function. I am on Concerta now (Ritalin) to help me stay awake. Crazy thing is I also suffer from insomnia .........meds to stay up, meds to go to sleep.....I feel ridiculous but we never know what we will have to do to get thru the days. I am hoping the Fentanyl won't have the same effect on me. Most pain meds DO NOT make me that sleepy--some of them actually have the opposite effect. I'm weird that way--LOL Hope everyone is well. Looking forward to seeing some intros from the new members.........tell us a little about yourselves. Everyone have a great evening Kim
I am so glad you have been chosen. I actually haven't read it yet, but will today. Please keep us posted on the progress of the study.
I know what you're saying about the meds also. I hate taking pills, but just don't have a choice right now. As soon as I get my settlement, I am hoping I can afford to use more of the things we have here in group ie; herbs, proper food, etc. It can be hard.
I actually applied for the study a few weeks ago, but don't think I was chosen.
Kim - Congrats for being selected! It looks like a great study that should provide a great insight into CP and our daily life. I hope it works out really well for you!
