Dr Andrew Rowan, CEO of Humane Society International, and several colleagues met with His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, for an hour in his office in Dharamsala earlier this year.

His Holiness is a revered figure across the world and a champion of compassion. He agreed in the meeting to help spread the message that compassion for animals is important; the details of how he might be involved in this issue remain to be worked out.
