A Cataract Surgery Success Story

Macario Pejana and his family live in a poor, isolated area of the Philippines. Macario worked as a carver for 15 years but his life changed drastically when he developed a cataract in his left eye and was forced to quit his job. At that point, Macario lost all confidence in doing everyday tasks and spent most of his time in the house. His wife and two daughters were then required to support the family any way possible.

Hope came when they heard that Trivani, in partnership with Deseret International, was holding free medical screenings in their area. Macario’s wife immediately made arrangements to accompany Macario, and Trivani immediately set a date and sponsored Macario’s surgery. His cataract was removed, and he can now support his family again. He and his family have already benefited from the surgery and are extremely grateful for the chance at an improved life.
