Sweet elderly Egyptian Mau in NYC December 19, 2009 9:11 AM

I a m fostering this little fellow on Facebook, but know all too well that his chances of finding a home are slim due to his age (9 years.)

Photo of BONGOHis name is Bongo.  I would take him myself if I weren't on the opposite coast!  In any case, please crosspost far and wide and maybe we can give him a peaceful last few years.  Here is the link: http://apps.facebook.com/save-a-cat/animals/1820094
I have seen C2 members save several elderly kitties...and help a paraplegic kitten in Kuala Lumpur.  Maybe we can help this poor little fellow, too.

STOP Kitties from being Cooked Alive November 29, 2009 2:07 AM

Dear Friends!   URGENT  URGENT  URGENT

Total of kitties saved approximately 1400 - destined to be cooked alive.

Donations urgently needed - the animal rights activist in China cannot afford to house/feed/meds for them all.   Help our fellow activists in China please.   Every cent helps.   If money does not come in - most of them will have to be set free - which means they will just be caught again by the bastards who are going to cook them alive!

PLEASE HELP!

For anyone who wishes to make a donation there is a paypal e-mail below and banking if you prefer.

The bank account information for Tianjin Cat's Hope Group is as below:

I am sending out a plea for 2 cats that wandered up to my mother's house recently. The 1st one is a siamese mix with blue eyes, his name is Sky and the 2nd is an orange tabby, his name is Tigger. Please, if anyone can help them, please contact me asap. My mother simply cannot afford to care for them.

Sky is a neutered male that is FIV positive. He is very affectionate. He was starving and near death when he arrived at my mom's house. After IV fluids , steroids, 2 rounds of antibiotics, and lots and lots of TLC he is finally on the road to recovery. Mom has been keeping him confined to a bedroom, but as he gets healthier and stronger, this is becoming less and less of a possibility. He meows constantly for attention, but mom cannot allow him into the rest of the house b/c she has a dog that loves to chase cats and she doesnt want to traumatize him. He needs to be kept indoors due to his fragile health. He would be a wonderful pet for anyone that has a little time to give him some love.

Tigger is an unneutered male, but we will have him neutered as soon as he is stronger. He arrived about the same time as Sky, in even worse shape. He appears to have suffered some terrible abuse - is missing large patches of hair on his torso, tail, and top of his head. I do not believe this to be any type of communicable health issue - I believe it is the result of some type of abuse. He was afraid to get close to mom at first, but now allows her to pet him and he is turning out to be quite affectionate; so much so that even though he is starving, he turns away from food to rub against her legs and ask for a pet. He is not the most beautiful of cats, but I believe that he will repay any help he is given with an unending supply of love and gratitiude. His lack of beauty is because of what he has suffered at the hands of people, but his spirit is not broken. I have not had him vetted, because he is just beginning to trust people, therefore I do not know
his FIV/FELV status. I will be glad to pay something to a rescue if needed to help cover the cost of his neuter, testing, and vaccs, or I will have it done if needed. I just need a place for him to go. I do not think he will survive this winter in the condition he is in, although he is much better off than he was when he first arrived in September.

We are located just outside of Little Rock, AR . Please crosspost this email to anyone that may be able to help. Anyone that is interested in helping should reply to this email or call me at 501-303-8185. Thank you, Kelley Prichard

I am pleading for your help again.  There remain 4 of Martha's cats that desperately need to be rescued to find forever homes.  Katie, Daisy, Bobby & Ashley are so lovable, but neglected.  I am trying my best to feed & water them but the empty house is in bad condition and not fit for humans or cats.  I don't know how much longer I can check on them.  They need more care than I am able to give.  If you can help spread the word again, that will be a blessing.

Thank you,

dear friends,

well jsut got the news that this poor cat has keytones in her urine which means her diabetes is out of control, her liver enzymes high, urinary tract infection, and she needs to see an internist and have an ultra sound. She is very very ill now. will need to be hospitalized for days to stablize  her. if she wasnt so  young we might jsut let her go but since they say she has a good chance we have to try....this is so not the news we wanted to hear right now. we need to raise funds asap!

If anyone can help all donations are tax deductible and can be made through pay pal under planetheart@aol.com or can be sent to:

Subj:URGENT! NEED TO SAVE THE SWEETEST DIABETIC KITTY! Date:9/20/2009 9:26:38 PM Pacific Daylight TimeFrom:PlanetheartTo:PlanetheartBCC:Right-click picture(s) to display picture options

Dear friends,

sorry we  dont have time to separate who gets this and who doesnt. trying desperately to raise funds tonight to save a sweet 3-4 yr old diabetic cat. We took on a little diabetic cat from an owner surrender, someone who could no longer care for their cat due to illness. When we saw this sweet kitty we could not turn our back on her. We already have another diabetic older kitty so we've been through this before and know the drill. but this poor little thing has been so neglected. its so sad!

Little did we know how bad off she was including diabetic and other issues. but We got her stable we thought. But tonight she ended up in the er with a Blood Glucose off the map, and vomiting for hours. this is life threatening and we have to keep her in the er tonight. if we take her home she will not survive. she is so young and sweet, we have to save her. her prognosis is excellant, but we just have to find the right dose of insulin to stablize her, which we will do tomorrow at our regular vet, but for tonight they have her on iv fluids and are doing blood tests, and testing for a possible urinary tract infection. She might also have a urinary blockage but we dont know yet. so far her vet bill is $750, probabaly will be a bit more. trying to keep it within reason.

If anyone can make a small tax deductible donation you can pay pal under planetheart@aol.com or to:

The Pepper Foundation

thanks you guys. here is a not so good pic, but its the only pic we have right now.

Torti Cat- thrown out with the trash August 20, 2009 1:29 PM

A nice lady brought this cat into the shelter after she noticed that her
neighbors had moved out and left the cat. The neighbors left a pile of
trash and discarded items out by the curb. This poor cat was left in her
carrier and piled up with the trash. She could have dehydrated and
starved to death or ended up in a landfill somewhere if the neighbor had
not heard her crying and brought her to the shelter.  She is a little
shy and scared being here, which is certainly understandable considering
all that she has been through. What she really wants is someone to love
her and a safe place to live. Please contact me if you are interested in
rescuing or adopting this cat. Please forward this on to anyone you know
who may be interested in helping. Here is the information for the cat:

Adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and for cats is $110 (unless cat or dog is already fixed, THEN ONLY $60). The $120 for unfixed animals may sound high, but this is actually cheaper than a low cost vet per the microchipping, heartworm testing, deworming, etc. that's included (note that you can rescind the adoption of the dog is HW positive). This includes Spay/Neuter, all vaccinations including Rabies, Bordetella & DHLPP vaccinations (for cats the first Booster vaccs are provided with Leukemia vaccination and Rabies and Combo Testing is done) Deworming, Occult Heartworm Testing, 1st dose of Heartworm preventive, treatment for fleas & ticks, one overnight stay in hospital pre surgical pain medication, 2 week check up, suture removal, and Microchip!! EVERYTHING needed! At about 1/4th the cost of a full service vet.

NO FEE TO 501c3 RESCUE GROUPS.
