I'm not sure if you guys can even help. My name is Rachel Hodgkinson. Last night I returned home after running errands to find an severely Injured Great Dane. He appeared to possibly have been hit by a car. I'm honestly not really sure. I went around the neighborhood looking for his owner with no luck. I proceeded to take him to the vet myself. After he was x-rayed the vet informed me that the connecting rotating cup to the leg and hip had been shattered. She said she wasn't sure but the bill for the surgery would be highly expensive and we should consider putting him to sleep. She also suggested I look into finding a foundation that could possibly help with the surgery. Even though I have only known the dog for a day the thought of putting him to sleep due to an expensive surgery kills me. He is such an amazing dog considering all he has been through. Currently at the moment I do not know the cost of the surgery but will include the animal hospital name an address when he is being treated as well as some pictures of him. I hope and pray you guys can help. I would love to give him another chance at a better life. Thank you so much for your time.
