Wildlife Alliance December 2012 Newsletter

Dear Dusty,

Happy Holidays from Wildlife Alliance!  Reflecting on 2012, we are extremely proud of what we've been able to achieve, with the help our supporters.  The cancellation of the banana plantation, the rescue of rogue elephant Sakor, the planting of more than 230,000 trees, the rescue of nearly 3,000 live animals from the wildlife trade - we have much to be excited about at this wonderful time of year.  In 2013, we will build on these successes and go even further as we protect the forest from destruction, wildlife from extinction, and rural communities from poverty.  Help us to continue our direct conservation action in 2013 by contributing to our Challenge Grant.  Gifts made before December 31st are being matched 3-to-1 by a generous supporter.  Don't miss your chance to have your annual gift tripled!  If you need assistance or have questions about contributing, please contact our New York office at 646-569-5860 and they will be happy to help you.

I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to congratulate our Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team on being named one of Disney's Conservation Heroes for 2012.  A well-deserved and long-overdue honor for this hard-working and dedicated team!  Created in partnership with the Cambodian government in 2001, the team has given 53,000 victims of the wildlife trade a second chance at life and significantly diminished the wildlife trade in Cambodia and throughout the region in just a decade of operation.  Congratulations to the WRRT!

Wildlife Alliance would be nothing without the support of our generous donors, partners and friends.  We wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.  See you in 2013!

Sincerely,

Suwanna Gauntlett
Founder and CEO
