Hi Penny and welcome....glad you like our group (make yourself at home) I do my clicks everyday as well......its one of the first things I do these days......glad to see care2 added one for the wolves!
[send green star]
How many times do you
click on the computer every day - hundreds? thousands? How many of those clicks
really mean something?
Since 2000, Care2 members have been clicking to generate real
cash donations for nonprofits to save rainforest, protect big cat
habitat, sponsor needy children and more - just by clicking. And recently, Care2
launched a fully redesigned Click to Donate site which is
faster, cleaner, and easier to use.
With this redesign Care2 has kept all of the existing causes
you can click for and added a "Click to Protect Threatened
Wolves." This new click for wolves comes none too soon, as the first-ever
state regulated hunt of gray wolves in the continental United States began last
week in Idaho. Hundreds of wolves could be killed, but our partner Defenders of
Wildlife is leading the fight to protect these wolves. Every day you click for
wolves you generate a real cash donation to help Defenders of Wildlife
protect Idaho's wolves, end aerial hunting in Alaska, and continue efforts to
expand wolf recovery in the Northern Rockies.
Here's how your clicks
turn into donations: Our advertisers sponsor our click-to-donate site and
make your donations to our nonprofit partners possible. Every day that you
click, you are generating a true cash donation, made possibly by the advertisers
you see on the site. Care2 pools all of the daily donations and delivers these
funds to our nonprofit partners on a regular basis.
When you click to sponsor children in
need, your click helps more than you can imagine. Because of all of the
people who click every day, Care2 has been able to sponsor 14 children since
2004 through Children International and we have just sponsored two more, Fridah
in Zambia and Santanu in India. Sixteen children in countries around the world
now receive medical care, school supplies, clothing, sturdy shoes, tuition for
education and so much more because you click.
I estimate someone could click through to Care2's click to donate site
and click one of the buttons in five seconds. Anyone who is online can spare
five seconds. And now that the site is considerably faster, you can easily click
on all of the causes in under a minute.
Always do the daily clicks when I possible can/sit at the computer. It feels good to know that I, and other people have donated, fed animals and such, everyday or when they have the oppurtunity to do so.
just went thru and did all my clicks for the day! Sometimes I go thru and click a few extra times (the rescue site is one for sure as they really need them) I noticed that the ones for barking mad are growing each month! Great news! I sure wish someone had adopted Dusty (although it might get confusing at times) ....I would have if I were there! Such a sweet face....and now all those cats in need. Heartbreaking..... Don't forget to check thru this thread everyone and click for the animals....its free and requires nothing more than for you to "click" to help save an animals life! thanks everyone! dusty
I added two beneficiaries to my e-card listing - for a start, so Dusty please look out for your card...
This was my e-card message: ============================= This E-card has a two fold purpose:
1. To feed an animal at a shelter 2. To tell GoodHope SPCA to shut Monkey Town down. The Cape Nature Conservation can give permits to move the animals - therefore it being 'illegal' to move them DOES NOT APPLY. 3. There is sufficient evidence on the Carte Blanche Video Footage for a prima facie case of neglect and abuse.
Kind regards, Eureka Morrison here is the beneficiary address for the SPCA (if you want to do two good things with one e-card) Lamees Martin - Cape of Good Hope SPCA comms@spca-ct.co.za
check thru the list to get all the others on this thread.....the one for horses is not active anymore (they've gotta renew their site I guess) so if anyone has one for horses....please post it here! Thanks for clicking everyone! Dusty
Hullo dear friends - just to share - all clicks done for Saturday. And again thank you to all for including the 'BarkingMad' South African site in your daily clicks.
Thanks everyone for clicking for the animals. So many sites....so many in need.....I've signed up for the ones I could get in my email (reminders) the others are bookmarked so I hit them everyday! If anyone has any others....please feel free to share them. Thought that was pretty funny Eureka....seeing "Dusty" needing to be adopted. Hope a home is found......some wonderful animals there. Love and Blessings to all~~~Dusty

Have done all my daily clicks. I do it every day, but noticed that others here confirm that they did their daily clicks. So here is my confirmation too!
Please add this South African site to your daily clicks. The sponsorship will only kick in if enough dialy clicks are 'proven'. Thank you very much! http://www.barkingmad.co.za/
Each click generates food for rescued animals. This is a test click button to
raise sponsors.
218683 bowls of food have been donated1860 bowls of food have been donated today
Thank you for this info. I clicked and then signed up for daily reminders. If I dont get reminded--I forget to breathe--LOL--so this is very helpful. thanks again Dusty.
ah! now i got it. The difference of sites , dusty. i even was receiving in my own email a reminder, but as i asked a while ago, i didn't notice it was different from care2 one. so i kept clicking while i was at care2 . today, i checked and saw it is different--the same as yours. don't know what happened cause i asked through care2 -- maybe cause i was at the pets part . whatever, (sorry for the bad english, i'm Brazilian) we can receive the reminder in our email . today i even signed for an action on that site, that helps even more. now i'm gonna go to my home email to click, and do some cleaning, day by day. I also have the same amount of messages, with graphics and animal sites i had written petitions . well, i hope u can understand , hugs, leonor

If you're considering adding a new pet to your family this year,
consider a local rescue animal first. You can find a shelter in your
area through Petfinder.com and brush up on your pet care knowledge at
the Pet Care page on The Animal Rescue Site. this is the pledge you are signing........
Please everyone do not forget the hunger site (click on paws) they need clicks to save animals (as well as others) from abuse.....these clicks are 100 percent given to organizations (unlike care2 which uses your clicks to maintain the site as well) There are actions that they themselves post to help animals......
make a difference and click.................

I've been reading the comments on the Los Angeles Times website and feel that the situation isn't that black & white. The ideal situation would be that there would be plenty of room for all of the animals in every country & no poaching! Failing that then we have to accept that zoos have a huge responsibility. First & foremost they hold the future & breeding programmes are a necessity. Secondly, they provide education within entertainment and allow us to see some of the wonders of nature that we cannot afford to see. Thirdly, it allows scientists to obtain some understanding of behaviour and ways animals live to help them survive in the wild. I have worked with conservationists in the UK and have seen some of the benefits although studying them in the wild is the best answer. Regretfully, it is not always possible due to lack of finances & a shortage of people willing to live in rough conditions for years on end to obtain the information. Also, some species are so rare & so difficult to observe, that it is almost impossible to do so eg the Snow Leopard in the Himalayas.
I dislike animals in cages but can see that it has become essential for the survival of some species. Large airy cages with a suitable & well designed interior eg bushes, trees, logs, ponds, grass etc for the big cats can provide a reasonable quality of life. Whilst in Florida, I saw a wonderful primate centre where there was a lot of space to allow a group of chimps to live together or apart, entertainment and quality food. Unfortunately, few zoos have this type of funding or space, hence the discussion that is now raging.
One fact that no-one has picked up on is that male elephants are rare in captivity as they go into musth which is when they look to mate with a female. During this time they are extremely dangerous and can kill. Only staff who have been trained and are used to this can cope and a sanctuary may not have the facilities to be able to. At least, in a zoo, there is protection available for the staff to work with a rampant male!
The zoo is offering to build a special centre of 6 acres (bigger than normal but still not huge) with grass (essential) and females. The females would have each other & Billy would be able to mate, something he cannot do at this time.
I would want to see both facilities and find out what is on offer. As I can't afford it I regret that I find it difficult to come down either way but it looks like the zoo is going to do all that a zoo should provide, both for animals and humans. Unfortunately, the proof will be years down the line when we can all see the quality of life and how it has been sustained.
Eureka, Thank you for posting the various click sites. I click on most of these every day, but some were new. I volunteer in horse rescue and sometimes I can be a leg of a dog or cat transport. The problems are so large, but I do what I am able. Aero
Note: Myth-blasters
say the Animal Rescue Site is legitimate. However it doesn't devote
100% of its revenue to animals, as it claims; it is not a non-profit
entity. But it does send a big share of its revenues to towards animal
shelters and sanctuaries.
Each click on ads brings a few cents for Brindi's legal defense!
I don't know of a daily reminder, like the other sites have. Didn't see one. I've just got it bookmarked so that its one of those I do first thing. I'm not sure if Claudia is referring to the Care2 clicks or those from the site I've posted here. I click on those daily as well. I thought the horse was beautiful so I had to use him. He's a rescued mustang. Here's a draft horse from the same ranch.
Thanks Dusty for the Horse click--i have not seen it before. I went to the site looking for a daily reminder and didnt find one. Does anyone know if they do this. Im getting old you know and need to be reminded to wake up--LOL. thanks. by the way--yes of course I did click. I also did the one for the child and had no problem....
I just click on the daily clicks and this is what i see at the childrens click every day for some weeks now.I copied it
Progress toward 's Sponsorship this Month: Clicks required: 18,000 Clicks So Far: 0 Clicks Still Needed: 18,000 Your click will help provide with food, medical attention and education for 30 days!

Thanks Dusty. But i do daily clicks every day(sometimes i forget a day shame) with all causes it works fine, but with the click for children it doesn't work, the childs picture (who we are clicking for) doesn't show up and at clicks done it says 0. I will sign up,maybe better

For those of you who are into clicking, here is a French site to click to feed abandonned animals. You don't need to read French - it's really obvious (there are also tabs for clicking for children, hunger, the handicapped & the planet):
I have been clicking on this site for a long time now. Please click for all of the causes. When you go to the animal rescue site--there is a button that says daily reminder. It will send you an e mail every day to remind you to click. That is what I do. Presently there is also a vote for animal rescues. After you click on the Animal rescue site--when the Thank You page comes on--at the top of that page it says VOTE. It is good for the United States and Canada. You just type in the rescues name and they have the chance to win $25,000.00 for their rescue....Thank you.
Yes, this should be spread out . i get glad when i read that some animals receive food just for our clicks... i have a reminder in my email every day. Don't remember how I did it, but it was easy. But coming here to click is also good, cause we read the news.

Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple... Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.. It takes less than a minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
I also click on these are they are actually sending the monies generated to save animals....environment.....check them out. (The animal site banner...click to feed I mean)
GOT this Igive thing in my email and thought I'd post.....if surfing helps animals......can't hurt

I know that a part of the daily clicks on Care2 goes to the intended sites (animal rescue, oceans, rainforest) but not all of it. And those that advertise "pay" to be here as well....
the click site I posted here gives 100% to the foundations themselves....so I support those. I rarely do the clicks on Care2 anymore.
Just click on one of them Claudia....then it takes you to the page and on top are tabs....just click each time to click for the rest. Its kind of like the Care2 thing....except these clicks actually go towards the animals/cheildren/etc, unlike Care2 and its clicks. Make sense? LOL
