Michael and/or Mark S. do you really think that the people who rig elections will care if we don't vote? So few people vote in elections anyway, if there are even less people voting it would not bother those crooks at all. The point is that they will still win and will be in control. That is why we have to try other methods.
In addition, apparently all the elections are not rigged because I repeat, in my Congressional district the last few elections have resulted in a Democrat as our representative, then a Republican and then a Democrat again. In each election the votes were close. If it were rigged the last time I don't believe we would have had a Democrat as our representative now but we do. That is why I feel that I have to vote for Congressman even if I don't vote for anybody for President.
Esther this is a comment from Mark S:
There is no way to secure the central tabulators that count 80% of U.S. votes
from manipulation, no way to prevent a fraudulently-elected candidate from being
sworn in, and no way to remove them once they are. Voting in rigged elections,
no matter how carefully you observe, monitor, document and video the theft, is
still showing that you are willing to vote in rigged elections and therefore
tells the government that it isn't necessary to have honest elections because
people will vote in rigged elections.
ONLY by not voting can we protest
rigged elections and PREVENT elections from being stolen.
Just C, I agree completely that something is very wrong in the way the votes have been counted. I think that it was pretty evident in the past two Presidential elections especially the one in which Al Gore lost when he probably should have won. I just wasn't sure if the purpose of this group was to encourage people not to vote in November as a form of protest. I do believe that we should do everything possible to make sure that there is an honest count in all of our elections. I just don't know if not voting at all will take care of the problem.

Hi, my name is Esther and I just joined. However I am not sure if I belong in this group. I do not intend to vote for anyone for President because I don't like the choice of candidates but I do intend to vote for my Congressman in the House of Representatives. In my district we have had the same Republican and Democrat running against each other several times. First we had the Democrat win, then the Republican, then the same Democrat again. Now the same two men are running against each other again. So it looks like they are counting the votes for Congress because the winner keeps changing and they are always close elections. I think it is important that I vote for my representative in Congress because it could determine which party controls Congress. If you think that it makes no difference, I must disagree. One example is the fact that the Republican wants to privatize Social Security and I can give you a lot of reasons why this could be a disaster. I also intend to vote for the Democrat who is running for Governor in my state. There seems to be a lot of differences between her and our current Republican governor.
I am not a liberal nor am I a conservative and I sometimes do see a lot of differences between candidates. I do see a lot of differences in the Presidential candidates but I think that McCain is too far to the right and I don't have any idea of what Obama would actually do if he became the President. He says things to win over the liberals in order to win the primary election and then says different things to win over the moderates in the general election.
Hi, my name is Michael. Glad to be here.
Welcome Tan and Nina!
David, the last two paragraphs of our pledge say:
I reaffirm the final authority of the people to grant or to
withhold the mandate to govern or enact laws in our name and I withdraw
my vote from these compromised and discredited elections. I do not
delegate power to any representative to govern or enact laws in my
name. I do not consent to unjust government in which I have no voice.
I am voting instead for true government of the people, by the people,
and for the people, and to this end I pledge to work with everyone who
joins this petition to establish citizen ownership of transparent,
participatory democracy.
Hi, eveyone,
I already posted my intro, this is just a response. First of all, I love the graphic, C. You are very talented, and it's fantastic that you are involved with this.
Second, I wanted to say to David that while it is true that saying NO to something means saying YES to something else, I think you will see that Mark and the team are working on that, too. NO in November is a way get the attention of the public who still believe that voting changes anything...It has to be radical, otherwise it will fall into the mix of other slogans, such as Obama for change or whatever McCain's slogan is. No in November is only the beginning!
Peace,
M.
M.
While mass civil disobedience is a very appropriate response, and No in November symbolizes and executes that rather well, what should it's true goals be? If it is mearly to draw the attention of the political class to the public they ignore, then all it can hope to achieve is a bit of short term attention, and require the same thing be done again once the lesson is forgotten. Perhaps the slave might get attention of the master seeking "attention", and maybe even demanding not to be whipped on Sundays, but that changes not the power relations, the slave remains disempowered. This was my concern when I first heard this idea proposed.
To my mind "No in November" requires something more, a Yes to something else, something sustainable and permanent, so that our children and their children do not need to one day face these same dangers again or repeat similar exercises if they are able to. It requires Yes to change, a fundamental change, a complete political paradyn change, and I personally believe that change must be from that of government functioning through 18th century electoral democracy to that of 21st century government functioning through and executed by direct and participatory democracy.
It is a real joy to see so many of the bestest and the brightest concerned responsible people here. I'm looking forward to the creative strategies for spreading the word that I'm sure many of you will contribute.
It is always difficult to accomplish the impossible and much more so when there are time constraints. If I didn't know so many of you well enough to know that you've never let little things like that stop you and aren't going to start now, I wouldn't be so confident of attaining our goals.
No in November! We the People are back in charge now and this time it is Washington DC that will just have to get used to it. They had their chance and they blew it. Say goodnight, Georgie!

It's a great pleasure to see you here, too, Carole!
You, too, Mark!

Hi Just C
I cant remember who invited me I didnt stray honestly !!! Hi Mark
Something about me - um a rather radicalised Gailick bloke with issues still, about William the fatherless ! I dont believe we have a hope in hell of achiving anything without power of the purse !!!
love n peace to all and ill shut up for a bit !
Take a look at the shares section of this group, bottom left on the
group home page. It seems to me that what you need is more information
about the system, not about the candidates. Have you looked at any of
the source material listed after "Consensual Political Intercourse?"
Have you watched any of the election fraud videos posted on
TruthAwaits.com? It isn't just that there are a lot of rotten apples in
the barrel. The barrel itself is rotten and will corrupt anything put
into it. Read "The Fable of Lanova Messiah." Read "Sheer Supremacy." It
doesn't matter who the candidates are, who you voted for on an
uncounted ballot, or who "wins," what matters is that we do not have a
democratic system and we need to establish one so that we can have a
voice.
When representatives cannot be held accountable, a vote is not a voice.
And welcome to all our new members. There's some great energy here!
Hi, I'm Hanna and as you all probably know I'm a pretty passionate kinda gal. LOL! Thank you to John Micheal for inviting me to this board. I look forward to getting to know you all better.
I'm in Ohio where voting fraud has been well documented. Being in a small subburb and personally not seeing my vote in the results of the last few elections is quite disheartening. So, this year, I'm not going to vote (unless I change my mind - lol). If the election is already decided and we don't really get a vote anyway, then why spend my time and energy going?!
Last year before Ron Paul kick-started the revolution, I asked my Boyfriend what would happen if no-one showed up for elections. Would it stay the same? Would Bush stay in office or would they just fake it and tell us who "got it"? Would it matter or would it make things worse? Well, we pondered this for a while, watched as things unfolded, etc. Got our hopes up for Ron Paul - had been following his career for a while; joined the meetup here in town. Met our "organizer" put out signs that were stolen, etc. Then the gears were shifted and no more Ron Paul for President. Broke my heart but I had seen it comming.
Bar would be my second choice, been watching him too, for a long time. Like his record, message and what he stands for. Honest politics - if there is such a thing. lol! So, we'll see what happens.
I can't back Obama - too afraid he's a part of the NWO and of course theres always a chance they'll kill him. I don't want that to happen so maybe it would be best not to vote for him?! McCain is definately out - he's just a war-mongering hateful bitter little man which will leave us exactly where we are right now, maybe worse. What frustrates me to no end is that at least one of these "canadates" shouldn't even be alowed to be up there. McCain wasn't even born here. There's something somewhere that says if you ain't an american, born and raised, then you can't be president. Oh well, I guess that's flown out the broken window right along side our precious Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Ok, so now you know a little bit more about me and where I stand. I will be waiting eagerly for more info as time moves on and make my decision when the time comes... if it comes?!
Many Blessings to all! We're gonna need them! :0)
Hanna
Thanks to John Michael for inviting me to this group. I had already pretty much decided that i could not in good conscience vote in this election (as I have been programmed to do) because when I did vote, it never made any difference. Whoever I voted for never did the things they promised, and for the past eight years I know the whole system was a fraud. I don't choose either one of the candidates, so thanks for giving my NO vote a framework!
Thanks to all and I will do what I can to help.

Hi, I am Nancy M and joined yesterday. I didn't have a chance to introduce myself. I joined because was enjoying the discussion on the "Uncounted- The New Math of American Elections" post last week. I have read other posts by many of you and thought this would be a great way to keep up some discussion. And I like the idea of a NO vote. That would certainly say something- more than not voting at all.
And good luck to Dennis Kucinich for the Impeachment of Bush.
As many of you know I was constructively discharged due to the non-compliance of the ADA. Those with disabilities are discarded by the very law in which is supposed to protect them. If existing laws are not enforced to protect us from the prejudice and the stigma that our Elected Officials pass into legislation then the discrimination will continue. I pray that a new Government be placed into Office where all the people will have equal rights and the pursuit of the American dream.
Hello my dearest Good Fellas

Hi all. I'm Karen. I've always been one to talk about the privilege and the right to vote. Never could understand why people didn't treasure that right. After the first Bush debacle, I didn't want to admit I voted although I had to because I sure didn't vote for him. After the second manipulation, I sadly thought, "geez, my vote never counted. No one's did." How the heck did we get here??? The real question is ~~ can we get out????
There's nothing like a nice cup of tea. Except perhaps the solidarity of those who love freedom.

I hope no one minds a British citizen being onboard I say citizen, though formally we are known as subjects, but not being a monarchist,I prefer the more empowering word citizen.
The fate of the entire world is tied up with the fate of the USA..or as the British protest singer Billy Bragg sang:
The fate of the great United States is entwined ,with the fate of us all/and the incident of Chernobyl proved, the world we live in is very small.
Anyway you'll need someone to make the tea,and we are pretty good at that old bean.
This is a cause, where I am happy to stand shoulder to shoulder with you.

I appreciate your understanding and didn't mean to sound harsh right off the bat, but I live in Hollywood and with all the ads EVERYWHERE, I am especially mindful of the symbolism embedded in graphic images.
I designed a graphic that might be useful and will upload it soon.
Thanks for the kind greeting Mark, but I'm a tea man myself and just finished some hemp seed bread with raw peanut butter and local honey. Mmmm...healthy munchies!
Hey didnt I tell ya'll that donuts are bad...look what happend to me....
But I disagree with your welcome picture. I came to check this site because I'm fed up with the white-male-patriarchal-dominance that is endemic in America® and the Uncle Samish image you posted. Screw Uncle Sam and machismo propaganda.
How about a greeting image that takes into account the diversity of the people you are trying to reach. That would be inspiring.
Welcome Francisco, JohnMichael, and everyone who just joined.
Sarah, please keep the coffee and doughnuts coming--looks like we've got a powerful set (including a few with the munchies).

I hate these intros when I have to intro myself, however I do like to
look them over when other people join. Looks like a really good group forming here. Some good minds and I really think the potential for actually accomplishing something is very good! Welcome all. Thanks Mark and Sara for getting busy and starting this. Carole, you know how I feel about you and your willingness to get in and bust your... (lower backside) to help out. (Goes without saying, I hope.)
Anyway, I just wanted to add my welcome to everyone and say Kudos to the three who are working diligently to get this off the ground!

Hello, good evening good people! Is midnight here, a new day has just begun!

I made it here thats mark for the invite. Thank you Just C for the click here. I do see a lot of my friends here. Hello all.
Thanks for the invite C. This looks like a great group. I'm so blurry eyed,I have to peruse through it tomorrow.....but I'm glad I was invited and glad to be here....... http://dingo.care2.com/c2c/emoticons/hug.gif
Don't think my drag and drop worked.....boohoo!!!
WOW. I'm speechless.
'Evil is so often stupidity, for evil drives out the best... And the best find each other.' (Chinese proverb.)
I know that many of you are "groupped out," and also that a lot of my friends do not wholeheartedly agree with the premise of this group (or are just in denial).
But I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and confirmation received. I see so much energy, knowledge, frustration, commitment here and look forward to "gettin' it on."
Thanks!

I haven't much time.. am with my daughter that I haven't seen since last November, and will be trying to spend a little time with her before we make the long trip back to Michigan...
Just know that I am with you 100% and will help do whatever needs to be done (just give me 2-3 weeks... that is when I should be home again.. bless you all for what you are doing and for being patient with me, I PROMISE that I will be one HARD WORKER FOR THIS CAUSE!!!!)
My name is Jaylena and I thank Carole for the invite. I am looking forward to discussions and any input I can offer. I love my country and willing to take a stand on our freedom and democracy that is quickly leaving us all by the corruption and greed of others.
I think this group is one of the most important here at Care2 and I appreciate your contacting me, "C".
For someone with a degree in political science, a former (if there is such a thing) educator, precinct judge and all the rest of what I thought was responsible citizenship to believe as I now do has been quite a turn for me to make. I do not belong to any of the traditional political parties, vote independent if at all, and am sickened by the long history of stealing elections. In recent years it has only become more blatant and, seemingly, we have become more inert as a citizenry.
I am proud to be in your company and will certainly be an active member. I look forward to returning later in the day to explore the site.
Mark... assuming you want the referendum to be written with some sense of coherence, it may be best I supply coffee and doughnuts for the crew ![]()
Thank you Carole for the invite!
I am in Europe but am very very worried about the state of the most powerful? but surely most
frightening nation on this planet! I have followed most of Marks stories and think that it is time
for action! If the election is a fraud like the government is now, than the people need to see how to
change that! If we want to save this planet we have to start in the USA thats for sure! you dont start with the new world leader Chindia you start with the USA!
I will see if we can use people-power.org for this cause! I guess we can since this is the most important project to rebuild AMERICA and build the FUTURE of the USA!
Thank you Carol,
And hello to everyone else...*S*

Every since 1993 when I took class of "phi·los·o·

That is why I posted "THE COMMON GOOD".
If you ask anyone outside the United States....read history....they know what the world is about.....shamefully...shamefuly OUR NATION HAS LOST THIS CONCEPT...WE ARE LIVING IN HELL.
THIS IS WHAT FRUSTRATES ME...AND MANY OTHERS...
WE are living in a nation of medicated people. Therefore...we are living in hell.
phi·los·o·
hy (f-ls-f)
n. pl. phi·los·o·
hies
1. Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline.
2. Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.
3. A system of thought based on or involving such inquiry: the philosophy of Hume.
4. The critical analysis of fundamental assumptions or beliefs.
5. The disciplines presented in university curriculums of science and the liberal arts, except medicine, law, and theology.
6. The discipline comprising logic, ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, and epistemology.
7. A set of ideas or beliefs relating to a particular field or activity; an underlying theory: an original philosophy of advertising.
8. A system of values by which one lives: has an unusual philosophy of life.
And why do people run for office, campaign, ask us for money, ask us for our votes, and then turn around and not care if our votes are counted or not? I asked an election integrity activist, a good friend that, and she, who used to be a big donor to her political party, agreed with me that they wanted our money, not our votes, and hasn't sent the party or any candidates a dime since. She has her own election reform group and spends money educating people instead.
People want to vote because they think their vote is their voice in government. Wrong! Only a COUNTED vote is a voice in government. An uncounted or miscounted vote is nothing at all, just an illusion that you were given a say when you weren't. Democracy died and we are clinging to the corpse as if it were still alive. No matter how much we loved it, when something stinks this bad, it is time to bury it.
Morgan, Tere, Sarah, anyone--can you help with the referendum language topic? Sara hopes to be feeling well enough to be back online tomorrow. Sara wants it to be lengthy, like an indictment. I think that could go on the website and be available for download, but that the referendum itself should be as short and simple as possible. I don't want stuff that people might argue about, just stuff that everyone is likely to understand and agree with. What do you think? This is one place where your voice is wanted, will be listened to, and will really count.
Carole, thank you for starting the shares section. Great idea! That leaves the topics for working groups and the shares section for reference material. Cool!
Morgan, we've both been there. I was one of those who actually read all the fine print in the ballot propositions, looking for the parts where they did the opposite of what the title said they would do, studied the voting records of candidates who had any, looked at the ratings they got from various groups, worked at the polls, worked on campaigns, donated money, registered voters, the whole thing. And then came 2000 and I began wondering how something like that could happen. So I started studying the election code, then the Constitution, and I joined every election reform and election integrity group I could find and read everything I could get my hands on, and began taking part in lobbying efforts to get better legislation, lawsuits to try and get what laws there were enforced, and when that didn't work, protests, rallies, going to local government meetings and speaking up, or if they didn't let us, we'd hold up signs, and we had press conferences. I worked as a poll watcher, helped with parallel elections, filed Public Records Requests for documents, spent days at the Registrar of Voters office wading through tons of documents and finding tons of violations of the election code and violations of the machine vendors procedures required by the Secretary of State. And we tried to get our Secretary of State to decertify the machines that could not be made secure, or at least to enforce the laws. I've got a bookshelf full of books on elections fraud. When I want to list sources, I just grab a stack of books and pile them up by my computer. And I started buying documentary films and showing the to various groups and at the public libraries where I'd answer questions afterwards. But it was only the election before this primary that I finally refused to vote.
It was so liberating! When the voter guides and sample ballots came, I just threw them in the trash with the junk mail. And my vision started to clear and I saw what was really happening.
And I thought back to the candidates I'd pinned my hopes on who had betrayed me. The wonderful Democratic woman running for Congress whose election was stolen who refused to help us as we spent more than $40,000 and more than a year in court going through the appeals process, trying to set things right, but she didn't want to alienate the party leadership and they'd told her not to help us. She didn't care about our votes any more than Kerry did. So what if 68,000 votes hadn't been counted when her Republican opponent was sworn in. She didn't care, her party didn't care, and they seemed to think we were crazy because we cared about our votes.
Our vote is supposed to be our voice in government. If it isn't counted, it isn't a real vote and it isn't a voice in government. Those who hold dear their right to let the government steal their voice, need to wake up. When there's an election and they announce a "winner" but many votes aren't counted or the machines flip some to the wrong candidates, where is our voice? Do people hold dear the right of government to count their vote for X when they voted for Y? Is that what they believe is so precious?
Yup, this has been another of those long strange trips. ![]()
Hi All, thank you Carole, Mark, and Sara S... and good to see some of the rest of the free minds here.
I too am an advocate of non participation in our present political system that is designed to reenforce the divisions of the population ... a system that has now turned so transparent in its real function as a pacifying control of the population.
I support the NO in NOvember because it meets upon a middle ground of the decent message for those who hold dear their right to vote.
Thanks for the invite *C*. Looks like a very interesting group. Mark, I love it, in your post announcing you are a recovering voter I think you jumped inside my head and took my words right out. In my entire voting addiction I studied the ballots, read about and listened to info on the issues. I voted and watched my vote be either watered down or ignored entirely--and that was when my side "won". Voting has become choosing the least despicable alternative--literally who will screw you the least. And then when you even have that level of decision-making it doesn't matter because the system is corrupt the outcome determined from the outset. I was raised to participate in democracy and vote for and in a democratic society. When we get one I will. I see criticism aimed at elections held in foreign countries and I have noted that I could turn the arguments around and point them at our own society. Vote--I think not. I will be more than willing to stand down in November.
Great to see you here. Looking forward to your contributions!
(Just left a response to you in that Uncounted topic, and it really blew me away to post it and then find you already here!)

I guess I need no introduction most know me and me silly antics...LOL
But for those who dont I am the Gorilly Girl...I am witty and I am sometimes funny...well I try to be funny all the time, but so witty I am all the time...Dont mind the fur its probably just like yer dogs or maybe yer cats...Try not to mind the fleas they come and go as they please...so keep the nanners handy and lets get this thing on roll...either way do so vote no...
Big Gorilly Hugs...Ya'll silly Gorilly...
My name is Marian. I'm new to the group. (Just joined!) Looks exciting. I haven't been happy with our election system for quite awhile now. In fact I belong to a very small but distinct group that
advocates not voting at all rather than continuing to support a corrupt system. I know that if any of you are interested in joining, you would be more than welcome. (Just had to mention that!)
and I'm a recovering voter. For decades I voted without realizing that my vote didn't give me a real voice in government, while officials I couldn't hold accountable decided how my tax money would be spent, whether or not we would go to war, to give preferences to corporations that allowed them to harm people with impunity, and to strip away our rights.
I will no longer vote in faith-based elections where I cannot ever be sure if my vote was even counted, no less counted accurately. I will no longer vote for candidates who I know will not represent my interests just because they are less evil than other candidates who will not represent my interests.
From now on I will devote my energy to a national referendum that gives U.S. citizens a REAL vote that WILL be counted and the opportunity to vote for what they DO want instead of what they don't want least.
I'm happy to be a host of this group and excited about brainstorming and working with Sara, *C*, and other activists for democracy.
This is really, really exciting.... I have a funny feeling C. that you and I and Mark are all actually just about as 'un'joiny as people get. SO it is a BIG step out of character for any of us to be hosts! If you change your mind about that - just whistle!
I'm really, really tired so off to bed. My head isn't working well enough to start thinking about parameters, things we could or should put in the material to be delivered in November. I do really like Mark's idea for enrolling election oversight experts to help... (Must sleep, must sleep, must...)
Hi, I'm *C* and I'm looking forward to working with other "like minds" who wish to make a meaningful change in this government's election process.
Thank you, Sara, for this GREAT idea . . . and to Mark and J-M for bringing it to light!
