Hello everyone May 05, 2008 12:32 PM
Hello everyone,
My name is Carol and I really have too many cats to mention all their names. I am 45 years old and live in Cleveland and am happy to be apart of this group and hope that I can meet and be friends with other cat lovers
Hello Group, I'm Roxann C. from New Orleans, Louisiana. I have 4 spoiled cats Louis, Lucie Lou, Minnie Moo and Nue - Nue Girl. I'm happy to be here and looking forward to making new friends.

Hi group members! I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Shannon. I've been happily married for almost 10 years, and I have 3 cats (furry children). I look forward to chatting with all of you... Blessings!
Hi group, my name is Karen T. I just joined. I am owned by 6 cats. Roxy, a tortoiseshell, Tigger a Tabby, Jasmine (a feral momma) and her three babies. I also had a calico, Marsha who I had to let cross the Rainbow Bridge on 4-29-06. The feral momma came to live with me the day after. She let me pet her in about 2 days, I guess she knew we each needed one another. I am also a member of other cat groups on care2. It looks like a great group.
My name is Eva, I'm 16, and I love the world even though there are a lot of scratches on it. My life is controlled by 5 cats - all male. (I posted their pictures on the picture thread that's red-pinned.) Everyday I try to do the best I can to improve the world wether it be through people, nonhuman animals, the environment, or myself! For example, I love volunteering at my local Humane Society! I hope and am fairly sure that this group can help me with my daily goals to fix this world up a bit!

Hello everyone! My name is Lark and I live in Huntsville, Alabama, USA and I am fortunate enough that two cats own me, not one! They are both offsprings of feral cats adopted from our local Friends of Ferals Society. I have always had feline companions and hope and pray that each one of my babies will be waiting for me ...over the Rainbow Bridge. This looks like a wonderful group and I am so happy to join other cat lovers-like me!

Animals are a passion of mine. I can't imagine life without them...but thank God, I don't have to!
We rescued a beauty of a Husky/Malamute/Akita mix through Care2 ("Wolf Mountain Sanctuary" Group). However, she doesn't "play nice" with other dogs, but she Loves Kitties... So we've been discussing getting a cat . I'd LOVE to find an Egyptian Mau. I think they're gorgeous!!!
She's so wonderful. I work from home and we "hang out" all day. She's about 6 years old and has been shuffled around. She & I are very close.
A bit about what I do in Care2...I always write in 3pt. and bold, for those who are sight-impaired.
I have a group called "BREAST IMPLANTS...for better or worse?” It addresses the effects of Silicone in the Human body. A lot of Women don't realize that even if they have Saline implants, the envelope (or bag) that holds that liquid is...Silicone!
Also, I work with a wonderful company that provides the best foods, treats and safe products for Dogs, Cats and Horses!
A warm welcome to you, Aida! So happy to have you ~ and Fei and Jack ~ with us! Would love to see pictures of your furbabies if you have some you could post!
hello, everyone ^_^ my name is aida. i'm 23 and i am the proud mother of two rambunctious and very often clumsy cats. my eldest is fei and she's a siamese mix. i'm not sure what she's mixed with, but whatever it is gave her a coat that's much thicker than the average siamese...it's wonderful to run your fingers through it ^_^ i got her from one of the local shelters almost three years ago when she was two months old. i went in looking for a cat, and i found her staring out at the cage at me with the biggest, most beautiful china blue eyes i had ever seen. i knew i had to have her. she started out very affectionate, then she went through a long phase where she became incredible anti-social...but now, with the help of my wonderful man, she has become more of a people cat. she's the only cat i know who thinks that she can fly (she does get pretty close though...i swear she has wings on her feet with the sheer height she gets when she jumps) and go through walls. it's absolutely hysterical to watch her play.
my second cat is my year and a half old, red-tabby point siamese named jack...whome i like to call my "mamma's boy" since he can't stand to be away from me for too long. i found him on the streets one night when i was walking with my mom while she walked her dog. he came running out at me from the bushes and he was so tiny and thin. afraid that a possum or racoon would get him, i snatched him up and ran home. once i had him in a lit room, i realized he was covered with fleas....they were so big i thought they were ticks...so it was obvious he had been o nthe streets for a while. with some help, i gave him a bath. the fleas that didn't get washed off, i went after with tweezers...jack must have known i was trying to help him because he did not fight me once while i groomed him. it wasn't until i had him completely cleaned that i realized what breed he was and i began wondering why a pure-bred would be abandoned on the streets...and that's when i noticed his eyes....they kept him from being show quality because they were neither the right size nor shade of blue....not to mention, one of them was lazy. while the thought of an animal being treated that way for so superficial a reason still angers me, i still consider it to be the other person's loss and my gain ^_^
I am Mileena, proud Mommy to 8 wonderful kitties! I won't take up the whole thread with all my pics, lol, but feel free to look at my album "all my babies".

Hi to everyone! My name is Cheryl and I just joined! Haven't had time to read much yet as my computer is acting up! And my kittens finally destroyed my mouse this morning, so I had to go get another one! lol
I have two new kittens that I got from our local Animal Shelter. One is grey and white, named Spike; the other is black and white, named Angel. Yes, they were named after vampires! lol
They were both born September 8th and they are brothers. Both have ringworm, too! They are both on medication, but it really hasn't done much yet. Friday will be 10 days since they started it! Anybody have any other ideas for it? I am afraid to put anything on it in case they lick it off...which they would. I take them back to the vet this Friday. I love cats and have almost always had one...until my cat Duffy died almost 20 years ago! I did adopt two Mini-Schnauzers from a rescue group...they were both 11 when I got them. They both died last year. So this year I was finally ready for more cats! Don't you just love them? They are such entertaining little fur balls! lol
Hi all! My name is Jessica and I'm owned by three wonderful felines. Mitzi, is a 17yo black and white DSH, Xavier a 5yo, black DSH and Fallon a 6yo black and white DSH.
They were all rescue kitties at one point but now they live carefree, spoiled rotten to the core. Not that I'd have it any other way
My name is Dolores M. and my cat is BabyBlu'Abbey.We live in Pgh.,Pa. Sorry I can not send pics at this time. I do not have a camera or scanner. BabyBlu' is 7 years young. She is all black /short hair.Big round yellow eyes. I recently lost my "Billy the Bad Kid Kittie" to a tumor.Billy was a sweet loving big gray Norwegian Forest cat....he loved everybody.
First I would like to say "Thank You" for the invite. What a fun, loving place. I love cats, and always have.
My name is Mz.Janice. I am a mother/wife/grandmother/author-poet/ordained minister....I am very easy going and love people/animals/nature and such....
This is Gizmo...She was born Aug 04 (on my daughters b-day)...She is a ragdoll and was the runt of 5. Her mother was the runt, her grandmother was a preemie...I took her in at 4wks, because her siblings wouldn't let her eat. She was quite a challenge, but we made it....She is so loving, and thinks that I am her mama...
I look forward to meeting like folks...Have a splendid day/evening....
I belong to a couple other "cat lover" groups here at Care2 and saw this one...so I thought, "one can never have to many cats or belong to to many cat groups!" right?
I have 4 beautiful babies...my olddest is 10 years old she is my human baby Missy, also a big cat lover. My boys (cats) are 3 years old their are Sage and Cinnamon and my little girl just turned 2 years old she is named Diamond. I'll post pictures soon.
I love all animals but cats the most. I am a single Mom living in Florida.
Hello again! Glad to be with you all as well! Everyone's kitties are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks Betty for posting a pic for me of Beanie! I think she feels like a little starlet now! It's wonderful to be around people who adore their cats as much as I do mine! I'll be sure to post new pictures as well! I'm still in the process of finishing my albums so I'll keep you all updated as I upload them!
Another Jennifer has joined us! Glad to have you and your kitties with us! Thanks for sharing the pictures of your babies. We'd love to see more ~ anytime!
Hi Betty, thanks for inviting me over to your group!! It's a pleasure to be here around all the other feline loving people.
Hello to everyone else as well!!
Here is a pic of my 7 year old O.C., who walked into my house one day and decided he was going to live with me. He's very gentle and a good hunter, but he does not like thunder and lightning one bit.
And here is Winston. I adopted him about 3 years ago from the Humane Society.
Winston is the most affectionate cat I've ever had, he wants to always be by my side and touching me in some way, (usually a paw on my foot). He also likes to sleep with his head on a pillow.
When the two boys were introduced, they were very vocal with each other for the first month or two, but as you can see, they are getting along fine now and have become good buddies.
Sorry about that! For some reason I have been having a lot of difficulties with a few care2 tool including my network msging along with my pictures not posting correctly! But in any case, if any of you care to see the pictures of my girls, Muffin and Bean, You can visit my albums....
Your babies sound so cute,i can't wait to see their pictures!I know what you mean about it being a chore to get out the door..lol i'm always greated by them when i get back too.Life would be so boring without them though,and i wouldn't change a thing!!Except maybe that i could have more of them..lol
Thanks Becca! I was going to do that.... You beat me to it!
I'm sure you'd noticed that I'd reversed the petition thread, too. It has gotten sooo lengthy. Much easier to "navigate" with the most recent posts at the top!
to our little home..lol so glad to have you here!!
Your babies sound like mine..lol they have their own little vocabulary lol they are so sweet and precious..i don't know what i would do without my furbabies
LaWanna ~ we're so glad to have you and all five of your special feline family members with us! Looking forward to lotsa pictures and more "cat tales" from you!
Hello to all caregivers of felines... ;-) July 01, 2005 10:06 AM
Hi. My name is LaWanna. Thank you Betty G. for inviting me.I have 5 beautiful, adorable feline kids. They allow me to pay the bills for their apartment. They don't much care for me having to actually leave and go to work though. Some days just getting out the door is a chore. I have Antony wrapped around my ankle as I'm walking to the door (or getting dressed) then Gabriel is wrapped around my neck, JJ and Tabetha walks around me complaining about it while Meresha wants me to hold her. It's such a special feeling, knowing I'm so loved and will be missed tremendously
My kids actually speak a few english words. They can say out, now, no, milk, mama.....when they are impatient the now is more like NOW!!! I Thank GOD daily for allowing me to care for a few of HIS precious animals. My kids love me more than any human ever could. Smart too! Antony answers the phone and can work the answering machine. This, however, is not always a good thing. He hasn't mastered hanging the phone back up and erases messages. It is their apt. though. I just adjust to what they want.
Meresha Ohana is a veggie baby. She absolutely loves tomatoes. She also likes corn, lintel soup, potatoes, rice pilaf to name a few.
I have an album I'm working on. I hope you stop by and check it out. Thanks again, to all. I really cannot talk about my kids much. My family thinks I'm crazy. May GOD bless you all in your love for HIS creations.
BTW, Tracy, you still have an X on your pic and Daria, you too.
Congrats on the kitten. I had a kitten adopt me last summer and she had the guest room all to herself. Boy, that was something else. She had to stay away from the other cats at first due to the worms she had when I first got her, and we also wanted to make sure she did not have a respiratory illness she could give to the other cats. This was per vet instructions. At first I kept her in a large puppy crate during the day for a few days until we all got used to things. She had food and water, a place to go to the restroom if necessary, a blanket, etc., in this puppy crate. Then, I fixed her a place to sleep on the bed and she did really well and stayed in the blanket bed I fixed for her on top of the bed. When I had surgery done on two of my cats...I had them altered, as they say....I also used the large puppy crate to keep them stationery for a day or so so they would not mess the stitches up or hurt themselves. I always let them out when I got home from work and left them out in the room until I went to bed. If you don't watch them, they try to jump too much after their surgery. My Chloe would try and I would stop her. The vet said no jumping for a while. Anyway, good luck with the kitten. I was lucky and mine was quite well-behaved. Hopefully yours will not do too much damage either.

Well, I was approved and am now the foster mommy to one 5 week old kitten named ?Vegetarian? She is really sweet but now I remember why I never wanted kittens again! Such energy!!! but thats ok She will be with us for about 5 weeks, then she will be spayed and put up for adoption. She is staying in my daughters room, but Fluffy is not a happy camper. I think she will eventually forgive the daughter for the kitten I told the daughter, just give Fluff some extra attention.

I dont think I ever introduced myself here, but better late than never!
My cats are Dupont {7} Fluffy {5} Abby {15} and Addie {10} Addie is a temporary resident in my home as she has a different mistress who couldnt care for her at the present time. I do not have any pictures of her yet as she is extremely shy and not totally used to us yet.
Abby
Fluffy
The pictures are kinda small but when I get new ones I can post them.
Also wish me luck, I am going to apply at the shelter I volunteer at to become a foster home for kittens. My husband thinks I will get too attached, but I am hoping to just make a difference in the life of some sweet kittens.
Well, as long as the insects that come into your home are not scorpions I have a problem with them in my area. When my cats see something in the summer crawl across the floor at night or day, I turn on the light and pull away the cat to see what they're trying to hunt down. Sometimes it's just a spider or cricket but there are times it's been a scorpion! Lilly

I am from SC. I live in a townhouse with my 3 cats. They are totally indoor kitties. I have had 2 of them for 2 years and 1 of them for 1 year. The larger one who is mostly white, is Moxie, the only male. The middle one, the calico, is Chloe. I have only had her a year. The black one on the right is Mitzy. Chloe loves to bury herself in blankets. Mitzy loves to get inside paper bags and the pet carrier. Moxie is the enforcer at times and my computer buddy. He helps me keep them straight...at least in front of me. I think he sets them up so they will get caught and he will look good. They all help catch the insects that find their way into my house. It amazes me how they can see those little tiny things flying around with only TV light.

I am not new to this group but I don't think I have been active in a while. Work, projects, and other issues have kept me inactive with my groups. I, too, have a couple of photo albums. My cats are rescued kitties. So, they are probably full-blooded Heinze 57s.
They love to look out this window. So do I...it is where I do my bird watching.
Here's are new baby, Miss Hissy Fit. She's about a year old. Looks just like my boy Thomas Tommy Tom-Tom Two only she has gold eyes and Thomas has green eyes. Isn't she cute? Lilly
So sorry to hear about the loss of your two fur babies. That's quite an age, 21 years. They sure had a good life with you. Now you have a new baby and have kept her. That's wonderful. Let me tell you about my 4 fur kids.
Professor Lucky Lindenbrook is my oldest female cat. She's 9 years old and she adopted us. She's white with black markings on her face feet and a black tail. She's quite striking in her appearance. She has the most even temper I've ever seen in a cat. Very loving and knows when I'm down and can make me laugh. Her birthday is March 17th St. Patrick's Day.
Red Buttons is my second oldest female cat. She'll be 8 years old on the 4th of July this year. She was found at an apartment parking lot in the corner. It was a cold, wet January and I didn't bring her home right then but it bothered me so I went back the next day to see her. She was still there and I did try to find her a home but no one wanted her. She was very sick, had an injury to ther tail and side. She was malnurished. At times I thought I was going to loose her but she bounced back. The wound on her tail healed but the fur never grew back. She's lost a number of teeth because of the malnutrishen but i love her very much. She's very loving. Loves to lay in my lap. Will fight for her food. She can be very jealous of the other cats. She's a rusty orange color.
Thomas Tommy Tom-Tom Two is going to be 2 years old August 15th this year. We adopted him from a tenant that was moving out and couldn't take him with to his new apartment. He was just a kitten and I found out that his previous owner would go to work leaving the little grey kitten in the small bathroom with only food, water, litter box and a toy. He'd be there for 12 hours straight. When I brought him home, he was not use to seeing other cats at all. So it was quite a job to get him use to his new life. He learned quickly and loves it here. He often will pounce on Red Buttons. But he's afraid of Sir Ocelot the Black Knight. That's a male cat that terrorizes Thomas and my two girls. He's a sweet boy but has a bit of a temper.
Miss Hissy Fit is the newest member of the family and I haven't had her even a month. My realtor told me about a cat that was left behind by a tenant that rented this house. He moved out leaving the cat behind with some water and a hamberger to survive on. If the house had not been put up for sale, no one would have known that cat was in there. We believe she could be about a year or two old. She's grey, just like Thomas, the only difference between them is that Thomas being a male is larger but Thomas has green eyes and Miss Hissy Fit has gold eyes. She was named Miss Hissy Fit for the simple reason that she does a lot of hissy fits whenever she sees any of my cats. She's a sweety.
We're so glad you've joined us,we'd love to see some pictures.I'll have to think about some names for your babies,i'll get back to you if i think of anything good..lol

Colleen ~ I find comfort in knowing that many of our beloved fur babies are healthy, happy and playing together at the Rainbow Bridge. And we still hold our precious memories of them in our hearts!
Hi, Steve. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your "kids". It is so devastating to lose a member of your family, as these cats ARE! You seem like a very compassionate person in that you take in these strays, even though they are not babies anymore! to you! God bless!
I am so sorry to hear about your precious Snoopy. He is so beautiful. You did what you could for him. I am sure you have wonderful memories of him and probably lots of photos too! He is with the kitty angels now- . He is also with my Bozo, who was also 18 when we had to make that same decision.
Snoopy- enjoy your playtime with Bozo! You are both young again!
Hi, I've been a member of this group for a few weeks.I haven't been very active in groups lately due to computer trouble but things are getting better! I live in Madison,Indiana with my dog,Midnight,a half black labrador and half ? ,and my two cats,Trina and Samoa.Trina is an american shorthair and a beautiful orange and black tortuise shell.She has lived with me her whole life,she was born in my closet and is now 11 years old.Samoa is probably part main coon.I found her in the animal shelter two years ago.She is a longhaired tabby with white tummy and paws. I don't have any really good pictures yet but as soon as I do I'll post them.
Hi all, this is my first post here so here goes,i have lost 2 precious cats in the last couple of months,one to old age and the other to kidney failure,Troubles(BOS is the white cat who passed aged over 21 years,she is standing in pic,she only started doing this at about 14 years,and Gingess was a stray i took in over 11 years ago and she was about 16?,they are the only pics i have at moment,when i get scanner i will post pics of the 2 babies i have still,first is Esha,my baby,she is about 3.5years and is technically a tortoishell,i saved her from the animal aid as she had the flu but i got her over it,and Kiara is a toroishell technically as well and she was dumped on me by a friend about 14 months ago,the friend came back 6 weeks ago and wanted her back because she is healthy now,i told her no and that is that,i hope to get to know you all over the time im here, take care , love Steve

This is my Snoopy May 20, 2005 1:43 PM
This little guy I had for 18 years and about a 1 and a half years ago the day after Christmas I had to make the most difficult descion about having him put to sleep because he was terribly sick. They said nothing could be done for him and he was suffering and I did what I had to do. It was the hardest thing for me to do because he was my best friend. But I couldn't stand seeing him suffer that was even more heartbreaking. So even though he isn't phyically with me I know he will always be in my heart and his memories will never leave. Because the heart never ever forgets those it loves and their love will love on always.
Prayer of St. Francis by Sarah McLachlan
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury -- pardon;
where there is doubt -- faith;
where there is despair -- hope
where there is darkness -- light;
where there is sadness -- joy!
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Lead me beside still waters,
restore my faith in mankind if you can.
Show me how to love my brother,
open my heart so I may understand.
We're different from each other,
yet we're not so different after all.
We're all here for one reason
to spread peace and love
among the human race.
Reach out and touch your brother.
Take his hand and start a chain of love.
One hand within another
and God will smile upon us from above.
Angels are the guardians of hope and wonder, the keepers of magic and dreams. Wherever there is love, an angel is flying by.

This is the best cat group on Care2! May 15, 2005 8:46 AM
Hi, I've actually been a member of this group for awhile. Now I'm becoming an active member. My friend Holly re ignited my interest in the group and I was soo happy to see that this group doesn't look down their noses at purebreds and breeders like the other cat group on Care2 does. My Maine Coons are the loves of my life and responsible for my extensive sum of knowledge on cats. Furbabies Rule!
