So, true, they do NOT make TV like that anymore. With PLOTS, and storylines, with characters we care about. Not the latest cardboard cutout with a DD measurement and a mentality (and talent) of a toadstool. One of my faves was (and is) the Waltons, before that housekeeper and the other actor who portrayed John Boy came Richard Thomas was best at it, and better looking, too. Nowdays, I cannot be bothered with most tv unless it is on History, TLC, Disc, Science Channel (not Sci-Fi), A&E... I rarely watch network TV. I think part of why these classic shows are now coming to the big screen is because we are so sick of ditzoids like Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, and beefcakes that are a penny a dozen. Granted the TV to Film transition usually flops, but the idea is there, give us someting more to watch on tv. I did try to watch a few of the more modern shows, and I felt my IQ slipping...Friends? bunch of brats whining about this and that, Seinfeld, yes, truly a show about nothing, Simple Life? Try Half a Simple Mind, and that is counting the both of them. Bring back talent, writing, etc and maybe I'll quit referring to the tv as 'the idiot box'.
