Tree Energies October 27, 2004 3:47 AM

Different trees have different 'feels' when connections are made through the energy fields. The tree alphabet had each tree with different 'medicine'. I.E. Beech - new beginnings, Oak - Strength. There are times when connecting that some trees look more inviting that others...I'm hoping people will share experiences of connecting and what they felt the tree energy was helping them with.  [ send green star]

Tree Strength October 27, 2004 3:55 AM

Hi, Wendy! I am really excited about this group. I have a pet rescue for blind and deaf dogs and work full time so don't know how much I can post, but I can't wait to see what other people have to say. I live in a small cabin in the woods in Florida. We were hit by 3 of 4 hurricanes and I have a 30 ft oak tree through my roof. There were many trees downed and destroyed and it is very disheartening. I can fix the roof, but the decades that the trees have grown and been here are all destroyed. It's so sad and my home is missing a large part of it's welcome warmth now. I know that the great oaks will grow again, but I feel as if I have lost some old friends.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Try to find some acorns to put in, near where they grew... October 27, 2004 4:08 AM

Thanks for joining...I hope people will share the same thoughts as you. I know trees are more than wood, and would like to share this knowledge.  [ send green star]

Anyway, i chose that one. Here they are: http://www.strayreality.com/Plants.htm http://www.strayreality.com/plants2/index.htm  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

i love trees October 27, 2004 8:53 AM

thanks wendy for such a cool group... and thanks to pelagus for leading me here. i love those links! i'm glad to be near the trees again. trees have helped change my life. it happened one christmas... i suddenly became aware of the suffering in the natural world, of the trees specifically. the trees told me themselves. this is why i ask everyone please do not have a cut tree for christmas. go without, get a fake one, or buy a live tree in a pot and plant it when the weather permits. use only 100% recycled or tree free papers, don't buy new wood furniture, and so on... also please support your local tree sitters... end the slaughter! defend our tree friends! in peace and love, hippie dude  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

symbolic Christmas trees. October 27, 2004 10:46 AM

One of my favourite Christmas 'Trees' was a large, evergreen, windblown twig...it was about 3 foot long with one offshoot...I stuck it in a wine bottle and hung a little silver star I made. It was very simple, but symbollic - more so because the tree it came from hard 'massaged' my bad back and eased the pain, previous to this. To explain, I'd sat against the tree trunk to try and find some comfort. Then I started to feel a movement in the area of pain, the movement was the same as the way energy feels when it's moving during a Reiki treatment. Anyway, the pain went away and I learned that trees are healers.  [ send green star]

The Power of Trees In England, Francis Farrelly found that, with a simple dowsing pendulum, she could locate on a tree, and in the dome-like, geometric pattern around it, nodal points of energy, which could expose x-ray film. This field of energy, may be related in some way, to a magnetic field. Since both can be detected with dowsing methods. Wilhelm de Boer ( a Rutenmeister), or "master dowser", who lives in the Hanseatic city of Bremen, West Germany…..uses a "dowsing rod" to measure the auras of trees and people. The energy, coming out of a large Oak, can temporarily increase the strength of a human aura, (or a person’s vitality). De Boer related how the "Iron Chancellor" of Germany, at the advise of his personal physician…would put his arms around a tree, for up to half an hour, to recover from the fatigue of his pressing duties. This was off your link, Pelagus http://www.strayreality.com/plants2/earthworms.htm it has kept me thinking & positive all morning, thankyou.  [ send green star]

How do you link with the energy of trees? October 28, 2004 4:50 AM

One way I link is through setting up a stream of energy from my hands to the tree, this then comes back over and behind my head into the earth and then up through my feet...  [ send green star]

first, wendy thank you for the link to your site! those pics are absolutely wonderful--just wish they were bigger this group is going to give me more thought food that i thought at first glance. i am very glad to be here. the main way that i have tapped into tree energy has been in leaning against them. they seem to help ground me faster than anything else. i thank the tree afterwards and give an offering of somesort in gratitude. it can be simple things like cleaning up the trash in the area around it or visualize positive energy for it, etc. after reading all of this so far, i feel like i have actually been selfish. taking more than i have been giving. my husband and i have made many wands, staffs and runes but we are adamant about not cutting a tree for those purposes. i know many traditional pagans don't have a problem with asking and cutting, but i see no reason to do so. i have a willow wand and rune set, that was made from a branch that was a gift from a willow tree. it was placed between the two main branches that veered off the trunk. perfectly balanced. blessings )O( roni  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Trees just seem to want to share October 28, 2004 8:07 AM

I don't know whether it's wrong to keep taking, from my point of view, I feel that trying to lift human awareness about trees is my offering to them. They are a part of a kingdom that grows more when trimmed...and when I was worrying about the effects of gardeners, I'm sure I once heard some bushes tell me that they don't mind being pruned because it's gives them more space to grow!  [ send green star]

connecting October 28, 2004 8:15 AM

Another 'connecting to the energy' technique I've been doing lately is placing hands on trunk and leaning my third eye on the trunk... Even thinking about it... you'll have to try it for yourself... cypress trees are great for it, any evergreens at this time of year. Wouldn't it be great if parents took their kids out to do this for Christmas insteading of buying a butchered tree - but then without the precious connection of the Christmas tree, humans would have even less contact.  [ send green star]

 October 28, 2004 8:42 AM

i'm one of those people that many kinda roll thier eyes about.(small town type people) when my oldest son was about two, he was pulling the small branch of a sapling. that was when i first started to teach him to respect not only the small tree, but all trees. they are depending on us to allow them to grow. we are dependent upon them for our survival. they are our brothers in this plane. the third eye extension to the tree seems like a great way of connecting. i will definately try it. as funds are tight and we can't normally afford a live tree, we use a non-real tree for Yule. i don't stomache the idea of cutting down a tree for the simple pleasure of having it in ones home for a short period of time. the only time in the past that we have ever done so, we used everything from the needles to the branches and the trunk of the tree in crafts and incense, etc. personally, i wish hemp was legal. i would grow a huge hemp plant right in the living room and decorate it.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

hemp & trees October 28, 2004 8:47 AM

I read something about that recently...about them (the dictators) not bothering to carry on the fight to stop production or something.  [ send green star]

:( October 28, 2004 8:54 AM

i don't know about the legalities or the production of hemp in your area of the world. i do think that our world economy (and especially the economy of the state that i live in) could improve drastically if we supported the growing of hemp. the waste of our natural resources is creating more problems every year. the paper industry itself could be revolutionized, not to mention clothing manufacturers and the food industry. sorry to get off topic from trees. but i really do feel that hemp is an alternative to the constant raping of trees in our world.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

hemp & trees October 28, 2004 12:13 PM

A crop of hemp takes a year to grow...a tree a lifetime, to insist on paper from hemp or other crop is to show a preference and stop the waste.  [ send green star]

I've recently come to the conclusion are like great guardians. Protecting humanity from the elements and offering the resources to increase that protection. Just as the trees seem to also be gateways to otherworlds, they have provided the gates and doors to many a home.

I've been into going to trees with problems just lately to see if I receive insight...as I think that they are able to change energy, just as they transform air. If this is the case, then I wonder just how amazing it could all be to explore the transformation of problems through sharing it with the trees.

I have received insight so far...but also I've had some amazing and quite informative dreams.

Loving trees February 04, 2006 9:48 PM

The connection with the trees are one of the most important to me. When I am happy I hug the trees in my yard or sometimes in someones else yard of in a park. I just need to feel the call and I will go for it LOL...open arms... embracing the tree like there is no tomorrow. Trees are the standing still people. They see it all........they hear it all......they take it all within in. Helping heal the world and the people on it. Trees share their wisdom when you need it . In a quiet way trees share and heal the children of the world. With the branches swinging sometimes gentle other not so gentle the trees find in their heart after so many mistreat to heal our world .

One of the great experience I ever had was when driving from Miami to Fort Lauderdale in the back roads I found a beatiful old banya tree. Well, I couldn[t resist ... I stopped the car, ask my kids and their friends and told them to hold hands and we went around the tree and lean on it with our faces against the old tree and said to them... no lets be quiet and listen... Their faces were so serious . Some of those kids experienced the first time how it feels to hug a tree

Love and Light

Liz
