I do enjoy the manner in which you have framed this particular concern plus it does indeed present me personally a lot of fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, because of everything that I have experienced, I, carpet cleaning saint albans basically trust when the actual feed-back pack on that individuals remain on issue and don’t embark upon a soap box regarding the news of the day. Yet, thank you for this superb piece and even though I can not necessarily go along with this in totality, I regard the perspective.

Interesting poster with stimulating goals...

I will try my best to accomplish them, although life is not fair and will never be.

Thank you

Throughout history, the cross has had many meanings. The DUO symbol does not have the same shape as the Christian cross. In ancient China it represented the earth. When I was working on a design, I wanted to keep it simple and use a symbol from my interest in both astronomy and ancient history, particularly the Maya. A cross with four dots in the corners has several meanings. It can represent the four cardinal directions and the four extreme positions of the sun, moon, and planets on the horizon.  It was also the Maya symbol for Venus. In researching the symbol I found it was used by many peoples, particularly on pottery—as far back as 4500 B.C. It can be seen on many beautiful Greek vases. I believe it represented both Venus and love. To me our logo represents world peace through love of DUO folks regardless of their other personal beliefs.

Hi,there :)

I have just one thing to say about the logo of DUO - what I see there is the cross and cross is attached to christianity.
If the code should be independent of religion too, then the sign in the logo should not bring to mind a symbol related to one of the most known religious mainstream.

I think, that the logo should be more universal, neutral and original.

Best regards!

Peace,love and light!

Has the DUO Personal Goals for Peace poster helped any of our new or old members?  Please tell us your story!

Progress toward peace requires a commitment of the majority to make peace a priority. Read this poster; discuss it with your family and friends. By posting it on your web pages and spreading the message, you can make a difference!

I cannot urge folks enough to think deeply about the DUO Personal Goals and acknowledge how important they are toward promoting world peace. The more we work toward achieving some aspects of the goals the greater we will discover inner peace.  Discuss them with your family and friends and pass on their message. Put the poster on your web pages!

can't take the poster up

HI there I tried to put the poster up on my page but it just does not do it even though I do it as explained above. Am disappointed :-(. So I put it in folder in my albums. Might be the old one though ~ have to check that :-)
Strangely I was striving for most of the goals anyway:
1. Remove Anger and hate from your heart
2. discover the amazing privilege of life and all its beauty
4. Respect the rights and beliefs of all our righteous fellow beings
5. Help folks less fortunate than yourself

while I have trouble with
3. Accept your status, yet work diligently and morally to improve it
6. make promotion of peace a priority

I guess its all work in progress though :-)

Make a difference by taking the DUO Personal Pledge for Peace and putting the poster on your websites.  Many thanks to those that have already done so!  Your pledge will encourage others to do the same.  Each goal on the pledge can begin in small ways and the results can mentally benefit you as well as those that need help.

Beka, I did understand your post.  I had decided to delete the topic and put the pledge poster under this one. I should have made that action clear to you. Sorry! Thanks for repeating your message under this topic.

Gary, you deleted my sentence because you did not understan the point:

Tai-Chi means internal balance to achieve postive movement towards and

control of yourself. This needs practice for months and years.

Result: accepting nature and seing beauty of life. No anger.

Thanks Gary. The poster looks great. We can make a difference!

If everyone would pledge to work on these elements, progress toward peace would be immense. I suggest folks begin by studying Hubble Telescope images and thereby discover the stupidity of anger and the wonderful privilege of life. Many of our DUO friends have made great progress on all these elements. 1. Remove anger and hate from your heart. 2. Discover the amazing privilege of life and all its beauty. 3. Accept your current status, yet work diligently and morally to improve it. 4. Respect the rights and beliefs of all our righteous fellow beings. 5. Help folks less fortunate than yourself. 6. Make promotion of peace a priority.
