"Coyote Drive 2013" is a competition to see which team of hunters can kill the most coyotes. In Modoc County, California, the contest pits hunters against each other to see how many coyotes they can slaughter.
The "hunt" is set to take place February 8 - 10, 2013 with the support of the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (DFW) and the state Fish & Game Commission.
And the reply on the protest letter /Coyote hunt, CA:
Thank you for contacting the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and your concern for the upcoming Adin Rod and Gun Club Coyote Drive in Modoc County. Coyote hunting is legal in California with a valid hunting license and the hunt organizers have complied with other Fish and Game Code provisions. This activity does not relieve hunters from knowing and following other local, State, and federal regulations.
If you would like to voice your opinion further regarding state regulations administered by CDFW, please contact the Fish and Game Commission at (916) 653-4899 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
