OLDER CHRISTIAN COLLEGE STUDENTS!
So here you are; back in school or maybe even for the first time. Older than the majority of students and non traditional.
Not quite fitting in and perhaps new in town. Even if your not new in town, everything is overwhelming. You feel out of place, a little or a lot insecure. You may have health problems, you now have glasses, if your a man you may have thinning hair.
While young students are talking about their week end date, you are concerned about your adult children  and grandchildren.
It may be the first time you've used a computer and everything is different.
Do you even have time for a spiritual life? You must have time for a spiritual life. Without Jesus there is no life, and without spending time with Jesus you become drug down. But you are too old for Campus life and the young adult groups. What do you do. Besides church, there are sometimes campus bible studies and prayer meetings for older adults. Sometimes a ladies or man's Christian lunch which includes prayer and bible readings. If not you can do something, you can start a bible study or prayer meeting, a sunset breakfast prayer meeting, a lunch for Christians, or other Christian meeting. You have that choice. Some colleges have a meeting room that you reserve. Some colleges will even post your meetings for free or a small fee.
If not you can find a place close to the college, or if your in a small town maybe a church or restaurant.
Please understand that being older and/non-traditional does not mean that you are left out. There is much you can do.
And with the stresses of college life and family life, work and studies, you really need to spend time with Jesus [and brothers and sisters!]

PRAYING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Lesson #1
REPETITIOUS PRAYER!
When Jesus said that we should not repeat prayers over and over, he was talking about men who walked up and down the streets, repeating the same words over and over, as a prayer.
They sounded impressive, but their words had very little meaning and most certainly were not sincere prayers to the Lord. They were trying to impress the public.
But throughout the New Testament both Jesus and the disciples tell us to pray unceasingly and to keep petitioning to God. It is not wrong to repeat a sincere prayer respectfully to God. He doesn't want to hear the same phrases over and over, or to be chanted to. For instance, Jesus tells of the widow who had a petition to a judge. The judge did not think she was important, but because she kept on petitioning he listened to her. God does think we are important and he will listen to our petitions, especially when we continue to petition!

Lesson #2
Being led by the Holy Spirit!
How do we know we are being led by the Holy Spirit?
When we are being led by the Holy Spirit, we often either feel a nudge, as if someone were whispering to us to pray for someone or something, or we feel a heavy burden, that will not let up.If you are experiencing either of these, you can be certain the Holy Spirit is trying to catch your attention!
Some people may hear an audible voice, or have dreams, but most people will more than likely feel that nudge, or burden. Do not ignore nudges and burdens. If you are not certain of a nudge or burden pray and ask for guidance and understanding. You will not receive a snake for a fish, nor a stone instead of a loaf of bread. You will in time be give understanding and guidance.

THE FIFTEEN MINUTE PLAN!
[All college students are busy people!]
It isn't easy to fit bible study in with classes, reading and other assignments. If you have extra curricular activities, it is even more difficult!
Try the fifteen minute plan!
This plan is very simple and practical. You simply set aside fifteen minutes every day to read the bible. Start with the gospels first, or at least one gospel such as John, and than go to Acts and after this Romans. Read the New Testaments books one at a time, and finish with Revelation.
This will teach you patience, discipline, will not take up your study time and will only give you a small amount for you to digest at a time! Try this and you will find that you are actually getting through the bible! Trying to read a large amount of material at a time will only frustrate you and you might find yourself postponing your bible reading which would not be good. Fifteen minutes a day, on the other hand will keep you reading the bible on a regular basis!

WHAT IS A SPIRIT FILLED CHRISTIAN?
A Spirit filled Christian is a person who has taken these steps.
1
.] They know that they are sinners, everyone has sinned, no one is perfect like God.
2.] They acknowledge and believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
3.] They ask Jesus to forgive them for their sins.
4.] They ask Jesus to come into their lives and hearts, and to wash them clean.
5.] They decide to follow Jesus and turn their lives completely over to Jesus.
The final step is that they ask the Holy Spirit to enter into their lives and ask that they be baptized by the Holy Spirit.

WHO CAN BE A SPIRIT FILLED CHRISTIAN!
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TURN THEIR LIFE OVER TO JESUS AND ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO FILL THEM AND BAPTIZE THEM!
1.] People who call themselves Pentecostal are Spirit Filled.
2.] People who call themselves Independent can call themselves Spirit Filled.
3.] People who call themselves non-denominational can call themselves Spirit Filled.
4.] There are many other churches whose members believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit!
5.] Spirit Filled believers are now showing up in the traditional churches that before have never believed in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Even whole churches are springing up in the traditional non-Spirit Filled churches, which now embrace the baptism and filling of the Holy
Spirit. such as,
6.] Spirit Filled Lutheran Churches~
7.] Spirit Filled Catholic Churches~

SPEAKING IN TONGUES!
BY JAMES FIELD
The word tongues means languages. The Holy Spirit allows a person to speak in languages he or she has never learned.
James Field says that:
1.] "Speaking in tongues is an act of the human spirit, apart from the human mind." 1st Corinthians 14:13,14,15
2.]"Speaking in tongues lets us address God from our spirits when our minds don't know what to say.
The Holy Spirit makes His unlimited vocabulary available to our spirits, and we speak forth adoration."
3.] "Tongues is a cooperative language." He says,  "The Holy Spirit never forces us to speak in languages our minds don't know. On the other hand, He makes His unlimited vocabulary available for born-again believers willing to speak from the human spirit."
Finally, "Jesus promised that the Heavenly Father willingly gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask for Him. [See Luke 11:13] After asking the Father for the Holy Spirit baptism, respond by choosing to speak. The God of miracles will act out in your behalf and enable you to praise Him in a language supplied by Him."
MY OPINION:
[You do not have anything to lose.]
First, have you experienced Salvation and Eternal Life through Grace? It is a simple act of extreme importance. A decision we all must make, one way or the other. Simple because of the few simple steps that must be taken to gain salvation and eternal life.
#1.] Find a place where you can be alone. [Well, you don't have to be alone, but it helps.]
#2.] Confessed to the Lord Jesus that you have sinned, for we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
#3.] Ask for forgiveness.
4.] Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life.
5.] Make a commitment to follow Jesus and to live for Jesus, and ask Jesus to help you.
After you have taken these five steps you are ready to ask God the Father to send you the Holy Spirit and to baptize you with the Holy Spirit. That is all there is to it. I pray that each of you will have this amazing experience and fulfillment in the Holy Spirit. I pray that whether the Holy Spirit comes to you as a burning flame, or a quiet whisper that you will know the peaceful Spirit that dwells within you.
What have you got to lose?

FAITH, POWER AND THE WORD OF GOD!
1st Corinthians 4:20
For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1st Corinthians 2:4
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
The preacher's notes:
The Kingdom of God does not stop at church, prayer, tithing, and fasting but must end in power.
Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and  scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
The preacher's notes:
Sons of God by manifestation are men and women who will act like their heavenly Father [God] here on earth-a demonstration in every area of life.
Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
The preacher's notes:
1.] Our time spent with God will not be a waste of time.
2.] The tithe is not important, the power is important.
3.] The power is only available to those who recognize that we need Him everyday.
The voice of faith!
Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The preacher's notes:
1.] It is not enough that you hear the word of God, but you must hear from God.
2.] The written word is vital, but what you learn and understand does not end with the written word, but with a spiritual awareness and an understanding of the deeper meanings behind the scripture, brought about by meditation and prayer.
Acts 22:6-9
6.] And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7.] And I fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest me?
8.] And I answered, Who art thou Lord? And He said unto to me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9.] And they that were with me saw indeed the Light, and were afraid, but they heard not the voice of Him that spake to me.
The preacher's notes:
1.] Everyone saw the light but only Paul heard the voice.
2.] Light is hope-the voice is substance.
3.] Faithfulness is doing what you were last told to do.
4.] Until spiritual deafness is healed, there will be no growth or power.
5.] Pray for healing of spiritual deafness!

Free to Believe

Please join the Open Doors advocacy team by signing the "Free to Believe" petition by saying NO to the Defamation of Religions Resolution being introduced in the UN.  While appearing to simply promote religious tolerance, in reality it promotes intolerance and human rights violations for religious minorities in some countries.

Why is this urgent?  While Defamation of Religions Resolutions have been introduced and passed by some countries in the past, it is up again this year for re-authorization. Policy experts at the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom believe there is a real opportunity to defeat it this year.  The Open Doors advocacy team will be conveying the level of support by our members against the resolution as we interact with the countries which have abstained from voting on this issue in the past.  Your voice is vitally important.  Please visit Open Doors website and say NO!

Praying with you,

The Prayer Force Team

I was talking to a friend and sister in the Lord, and she said that a preacher that she listened to said this, "That now is a very good time to for Christians to move to from the mega cities, super cities, large cities and medium cities to small villages."  He actually prophesied this, and this confirms what I believe. That Christians need to move out of the large, huge, mega, and super cities to small villages. Of course, some people are meant to stay in the larger cities to do mission work, but it's better to raise your children in small villages and in the country than in mega cities. People do better in small villages, and it's better all the way around for everyone. You need to pray and meditate about this. What does the Lord want you to do?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

A SAD TALE TO TELL!
When I was in college at the age of 18/19 I needed to know that there were Christians on campus that cared and loved the Lord. Instead, the only people that approached me were those who were of the world, those who liked to party, those who used drugs and drank and those did not practice Christianity . I got sucked into their world. It was decades before I found the Lord again, and my life was in ruins. I never want this to happen to anyone else! If I had been approached by Campus Christians and invited to their activities on campus, my life would be entirely different, I am sure of this. This is why I am so disheartened by the attitudes of college administrators and instructors now days. On really large college campuses and universities, you may still find that Campus Life and other similar programs are going strong and can put up posters and advertise their programs. You may also find coffee houses and interdenominational churches near by the campuses; however, in smaller campuses and communities, you will have to be creative and wise. Praying unceasingly!
One way to invite someone to your group while you are off campus is to invite them out for lunch off campus, or for soda, coffee, etc. If they say no, than do not make a big deal about it, [just say okay!], but if they say yes, allow them the chance to visit your group! Perhaps invite them to a Christian activity that your group is putting on. Never be pushy! Always be friendly!

Hi everyone!
I am so happy that all of you have joined this family. Lately some disturbing things have been happening in the Christian world. Well, maybe this is a long standing situation and not recent, but some Christians have taken to attacking the integrity of  Christians who are Baptized in the Holy Spirit. In the bible there are many places, many verses and chapters which tell us not to Quench the Holy Spirit, not to grieve the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit is sent to us by Christ, and that the Holy Spirit will Baptize us and give us gifts. It is truly dangerous for Christians to leave whole chunks of the New Testaments out of our understanding. We must understand that the Holy Spirit is vital and necessary to our growth and to our lives as a Christian. Your sister in Christ, Donna

WHY SHOULD CHRISTIANS MOVE FROM THE CITY TO A VERY SMALL HAMLET OR VILLAGE?
Cities are crowded, noisy, polluted and full of crime. The schools are crowded, the classrooms large, because of the danger of gangs and shootings, violence and alcohol and drugs, the schools have had to develop strict rules, security guards, security cameras, etc, etc, etc. The stores themselves are like small cities, crowded, noisy and confusing. The large churches are impersonal and the people you pass on the street are strangers whom you can not trust.
Hamlets and villages are small and personal, where you have alot of say in the matter. While there may be a lack of services you have many choices to correct that situation and if you have enough Christians in a Hamlet or Village you can start a small private school.
Another reason to leave the cities is the corruption that politicians have developed in this day and age, the anti-Christian attitudes and the immoral activities and belief systems. If you have had enough of the big cities, consider moving to a village or a hamlet, and make sure there are no bars or liquor establishments!

 Friday, 9:31 PM

I have been collecting books and magazines from second stores and give a ways at the laundromat; so that I could do some studying after I graduate and create some new lessons! I am thinking on how to create some new themes also. I'm not sure what yet, but here are some studies I would like to do!
1.]   Intercessory prayer- What it is, how to pray this way and what happens when you do!
2.] Prayers of healing and faith!
3.] Mission work!
4.] And more!
[ send green star]  [ flag for review]

 Saturday, 4:20 AM

Continued-
5.] The gifts of the Holy Spirit!
6.] The Homeless!
7.] Spiritual growth!
8.] Our role as Christians!
9.] Who are the workers of God?
10.] Weekly meditation!
11.] Some of the same things such as morning greetings and chat, graphic designs, welcome and inspiration.
12.] I may have other ideas also! And I would love to hear your ideas!
What are your ideas? Please let me know if you have ideas for this group! Thanks! Donna

Free to Believe

The UN General Assembly may vote as early as this week on whether to pass the UN Defamation of Religions Resolution.  If passed it may be used in Islamic countries to legitimize the unjust punishing of people, like Jeahanzaib Asher in Pakistan, and other pro-Islamic countries of the world.
Please pray for favorable results as Open Doors and other organizations travel to New York this week in hopes of influencing the vote and overturning the resolution.  If you have not yet signed the Free to Believe petition, please take action today!  We ask that you also share it with as many people as possible... The more digital signatures, the better!

Father, we call upon you to stop the passing of the U.N. Defamation of Religions Resolution.  Open the eyes of those voting to see the danger of this seemingly benign declaration; that hidden in the “good” words are intentions to harm those who love You.
