GROUP PRAYER! EVERYONE JOINS IN!
Today
I am trying something new! I want to start a group prayer. I will still
keep the prayer request thread, but I want to put on one subject every
so often, and have everyone join in to pray. If this works out we will
have it as a regular feature, but people have to join in or it won't
work. Please help me to keep this thread going!

Sister as I started
equipping and train people to preach word of the lord house to house in Pakistan,
please pray more fervently. Persecution is going on as well as government about
to demolish our houses due to expanding width of dirty stream as we live on the
stream due to this stream every year we hit by the flood. From Pastor Victor Sirdar in Pakistan

We are excited to invite you to attend a special conference call forum on Monday, August 24 from 10-11AM (PST).
We have created this unique opportunity because you are an avid and loyal advocate for persecuted Christians and have demonstrated your commitment to pray for the persecuted church.
The
forum will be hosted by Open Doors President, Dr. Carl Moeller, the
Prayer Director, Michele Miller, and the Advocacy Director, Lindsay
Vessey. We'll provide an update on the situation in Orissa, host a time
of prayer for our brothers and sisters in India, and unveil an exciting upcoming advocacy campaign in which you'll play a vital part.
Make sure to RSVP because we'll need to save your spot in the forum!
As regular participants in the Prayer and Advocacy Programs at Open Doors, many of you know that this August marks the one-year anniversary of the outbreak of anti-Christian violence in Orissa, India, which was started when Hindu leader Swami Laxmanananda was assassinated.
Since
the outbreak of the violence last year, at least 120 people were
murdered, 250 churches were destroyed, and over 50,000 individuals were
displaced. Sadly thousands of Christians are still in relief camps and
little has been done to bring justice to this situation. Watch the video>>
For this reason, we need to join hands in prayer and advocacy to seek justice for these precious brothers and sisters.
We hope you can join us! To join the call, dial 712-432-0031 and use enter 1063343 for the pass code.
Hi, Please
pray for Rhonda! Her brother and a friend were killed in a car
accident. Some of you may know her because she is a member of Care2.
Please pray for the family also! Donna

College Students Need Your Prayers! Last
year as I studied with my tutor in the college hallway, I couldn't help
but notice the activity going on in the hallway. This particular
hallway was a large circular room with a staircase going down in the
middle. It is a multicultural and diverse, travel way and meeting
place; much like the well was in the days when Jesus walked the earth
as one of us, a mixture of strangers, acquaintances and friends,
constantly flowing and changing. A cultural center. You see a lot when
you are sitting in this particular area. You see students who are
struggling, students who are happy and celebrating, students who are
thoughtful, and some that are sad or scared. One day while I was
working on my assignment, I suddenly realized that these
young students needed prayers. I felt very strongly that I should pray
for them. So I bowed my head and prayed silently. As I prayed; I felt
one of those
rare moments where it seemed as if Jesus presence were all around.
I lifted up my head, a girl who moments before had
tears in her eyes had dry eyes, and the room was silent. Somehow the
students had formed a
circle around the room and were looking at me. I don't know what they
were thinking, but I could feel the presence of the Lord throughout
that room. Then they scattered and went to their classes. That moment
was so indescribable and spiritual that I could not and still can not
deny that Jesus was there in that room and that others felt His
presence also! College students clearly need us to remember them in
prayer. While they may seem to be light hearted and happy, the weight
of the world may be on their shoulders. We do not know the troubles
they live with, the fears they have, the pressures and temptations they
live with, and many college students do not know the Lord as their
Savior. We should save an allotted time each week to pray for college
students. Please
consider doing this!

College Prayer Partners and Prayer Groups! [Helping each other with prayer!] The last years
on the college campus has been the most chaotic environment, and I
have seen the most hard hearted people that I have ever seen in my
entire life. I also see many students that have a frightened look or
lost look on their faces. How does one survive this type of environment? "Jesus, Prayer and partners!" + <>< There
are two goals that I hope with all my heart that you strive for, and
that is to develop a regular prayer life, both by yourself and with
others! Prayer is powerful and when you trust Jesus you have put your
life in mighty, and powerful hands. "Jesus is the most powerful
force in the universe." Search for a prayer group, and search for a
prayer partner that will be able and willing to meet with you on a
regular basis to pray! MATTHEW 18:19 & 20
19.) I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something
you are praying for, my father in heaven will do it for you. 20.)
Whenever two or more of you come together in my name, I am there for
you.

A MARRIED COUPLES BIBLE STUDY! A
woman in my village invited me to a bible study, so last night I
decided I would go. There were five married couples there, so~as you
can imagine I felt somewhat out of place. I was led upstairs to a room
in their beautiful house~kind of a study room~where we sat in a semi
circle in front of a television. Everyone was very nice to me, even
helping me carry my tea and bible up the stairs, because stairs are
very difficult and I needed the use of my cane. once there everyone
introduced themselves and a DVD was put in. I truly felt as if I were
intruding, here were five amazing Christian couples who had been
Christians for years, and had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord.
They all were in one accord and there was harmony. I on the other hand
was a single person. I thought to myself, "What am I
doing here, Why am I here." But the bible study was on faith, and
everyone needs to hear that. It was in fact a very good bible study
about faith replacing fear. Not only was I reassured, but realized that
I should spend more time thanking the Lord. I still do not know why I
should be allowed into a bible study where there were only married
couples; however, I do know with all my heart that I would not be at
that bible study if the Lord had not opened the door, and so I have to
be grateful that the door was opened to me. I have to tell you that
after seeing great effect that these married couples had when gathering
together, that I am most definitely in favor of married couples
gathering for bible studies and prayer meetings!

How do we know we are being led by the Holy Spirit? These
is a prayer exercise that everyone can try. You can use pieces of
paper, or use index cards. Write your prayer request to Jesus, the date
you prayed, the time and be very specific on what you prayed for. Put
the prayer request in an envelope with the prayer date on it. Put it in
a shoe box, security box, or drawer, [anyplace that is safe!], and each
time you go to prayer do this, than when a prayer is answered, find
your prayer request and write when and how your prayer was answered,
and on the envelope write prayer answered! At the end of the month
count how many of your prayers have been answered. Do not throw any of
your prayers away, just keep working on this, and at the end of the
year, on New Years Eve count how many of your prayers have been
answered!

YOU CAN NOT HAVE FAITH AND FEAR AT THE SAME TIME! 1.] Fear takes over and grows with time, the longer you hold on to fear, the more of a reality fear becomes! 2.] Faith can replace fear! 3.] Faith will make your spiritual life strong! 4.] You can always make requests to Jesus! 5,] You should make your request with faith! 6.] After making a request you should say thank-you to Jesus!

Hi! Well,
I just returned from the weekly bible study that I went to. Tonight,
not only did we watch the DVD, but we also discussed some of the points
brought up. I felt very much that this was a beneficial meeting. Again the minister brought up faith verses fear. 2nd Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but power, and love, and of a sound mind. Some points made by the preacher: 1.] Fear is faith reversed. 2.] Faith comes by hearing the word of God. 3.] Fear is contaminated faith. 4.] Fear and unbelief go together, hand in hand. Genesis 3:1-10 10.] And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. [Fear began because we listened to the serpent instead of to God.] Philippians 4:19 19.] But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Some more points made by the preacher: 1.] Everyone must deal with an area of unbelief. 2.] The word should determine your next move in life, not fear. 3.] Spend time meditating on the word. Matthew 7:7-11 7.] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you; 8.] For everyone that asketh receiveth: and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9.] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10.] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11.]
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,
how much more shall your Father, which is in heaven give good things
to them that askHim? Philippians 4:6 "Be
careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God." More points made by the preacher: 1.] Be consistent in your faith and do not give into fear. 2.] Faith comes by the word, and believing the word, and putting it into action replaces fear.

COMMITMENT! THE LOG I PHOTOGRAPHED WAS LAID OR HAD FALLEN OVER A NARROW BUT VERY DEEP STREAM. If you have ever had to cross a log bridge, you know how frightening and uncertain that can be. For
some people, and maybe for all of us at certain times, commitment can
be as frightening and uncertain as when we have to cross that log
bridge. Commitment comes with a price. We must learn new behavior,
overcome a fear, or give something up. Commitment is a choice, a
decision and when you commit, you are saying, I will follow through
with this. When we commit to Jesus, we are saying, I will follow
you, whether it is the popular thing to do or not. I will follow you
when others do not agree. I will follow you, when I am tempted to do
otherwise. I will read you word, I will listen to what you have to say
Jesus, and I will let you guide me. I will not give up on you even in
the face of someone's hypocrisy, even when I can not see the light and
can not feel your grace. I will follow you. I will follow you when I am
lonely, alone, overwhelmed, sad, hurt, frightened, confused, in danger,
or struggling. I will follow you Jesus, no matter what. I will commit
myself to you! This seems like a tall order. But you are not alone
when you make this decision, for you have Jesus to carry you, the Holy
Spirit as a helper, angels to guard you and the Bible to guide you.
Jesus will never give you more than you can handle, and will give you
strength and courage, if you only ask. And Jesus told us, that we only
have to follow him one step and one day at a time! When we walk through
those valley's we should also remember that we will also have mountains
to rejoice on! So, I ask you to join me in
committing or recommitting your life to Jesus. Make this your first and
foremost goal. Grace and Peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! Your sister in Christ, Donna

How can I get involved with the International Day of Prayer for 2009?Click here to learn how to get involved with IDOP.
By signing up, you may receive a free IDOP kit for your church or home
to get others involved and prepared for November 8th, 2009. If the International Day of Prayer is only once a year, what are other ways I can support persecuted Christians?Remembering
persecuted Christians is not limited to one day a year. Though the
persecuted may be far from us, we are to share in their sufferings. Of
the 100 million Christians who are persecuted for their faith every
month, their number one request is that you pray for them. Continue to pray
for those who are unable to openly express and share their faith in
Christ throughout the year. Another way to remember persecuted
Christians throughout the year is to act. Use your freedom to serve the oppressed. Lastly, you can give, thereby directly answering the persecuted's prayers. With $5, a bible can be sent into the hands of a persecuted believer.

Good
Morning
everyone! We have experienced our third snow this fall, all in
October. Only yesterday we had a blizzard. Anyone who has lived in this
part of the Midwest for any length of time knows you do not go driving
in a storm, yet I had to buy some groceries and do my son's laundry so
that he would have clean clothes for work. I felt so strongly about
this that I went even though I had a low tire and we were in a storm.
Now our highways are not flat and even with small ditches to the side
of them; they are hills with small canyons to the side of them. There
are some flat fields but mostly hills. So here I was on an icy, snowy
highway, no traction in my tires because one was low, and snow blowing
across the highway in many places. I realized that I should turn back
but there were no driveways that had been cleaned out yet and no where
that I could turn around. So I drove five miles an hour all the way to
McCook and prayed all the way there. If I had slid off the highway in
certain areas I would have fallen along ways down. I knew this was my
own fault but God was merciful enough to get me to McCook safely. Once
there I drove to Wal-Mart to see if they could put a new tire on. They
would have gladly done this but I had a badly bent rim which happened
when I ran over a large board in the highway the other day, so before I
could get a new tire I needed a new rim. Which left me with another
predicament. I now must either find a rim at a salvage yard, or go to
an expensive repair shop, which I didn't have the money for. Luckily my
nieces husband is a mechanic, and can probably find a rim at the
salvage yard, cheaply and Wal-Mart promised me that they would put in
on for me, but I knew that it would have to wait another day because he
was at work and the weather was so bad. So I asked Wal-Mart to air up
my tire which they gladly did for free and I bought a few groceries and
went home, by which time, the storm was over, the sun was melting the
snow and the plow was cleaning the highway. I did get the laundry done
later that day, and you couldn't even believe it was the same highway.
That night there was a knock at the door and a lady from the church in
McCook that I had visited had a cardboard box full of meat for us. She
and her husband had cleaned out their freezer and thought of us. So now
we have a full freezer. I learned this lesson. In spite of our human
foolishness, God is merciful to us! Everyone have a nice day! Donna

Thank You for Praying on International Day of Prayer (IDOP)
Do
your prayers make a difference? Recently a church leader
enthusiastically reported that, eople who didnt know anything about
the persecuted church before Nov. 8 came up to me and said; We need to
hear more about our persecuted brothers and sisters; please don't stop
sharing with us.
Another
church leader wrote, Once the flyers and banner were put up in front
of the church the members became excited. I felt over-joyed when the
Youth Department wanted to start the prayer service. People we haven't
seen in church for months were rededicating their lives back to
Christ. It was a divine spirit filled day.
God, we thank you for answering our prayers for the work You continue to do through IDOP and Open Doors. May there be an unstoppable groundswell of prayer and support for Your persecuted church worldwide.
CHRISTMAS HOMEWORK! 1.] Find a partner and set up a regular time and place to pray together! 2.] Find several people and start a prayer group! 3.] Pray that Jesus will help you to become a prayer warrior and set up a regular time and place to pray! 4.]
Pray that Jesus will help you become a prayer intercessor! A bit more
intense than being a prayer warrior. When I am finished with school we
will study intercessory prayer!
