I was doing my many "clicks to donate" yesterday for Freekibblekat, and discovered a link to a post on the Halo site about photographer Miyoko Ihara's photographs of her grandmother, Misao & odd-eyed white cat, Fukumara.
I loved these photographs, not only because of the heart-warming relationship between them, but for the glimpse of the earth-centered, beautiful life they lead together.
“When I see the way my grandmother is living her life, I really feel that she has a kind of strength that my generation simply can’t match,” Miyoko tells Nippon.com. “She gets up with the sun, and goes to bed when it sets. She loves her cat and the vegetables in her field like her own children.”
By this morning, Ihara's project, now a popular book in Japan, was an item on the main page on the Huff Post - a post titled "Images of Grandmother's Friendship with Cat Go Viral".
This is my favorite link, though:
