Interfaith - Peace
Living In and As Peace

This thread is for sharing your beliefs, ideas, links, discussions, or items of interest from your faith or non-faith base as regards living “in”  and “as” peace.  How can we co-exist peacefully?  What role do we play as individuals in contributing to a peaceful existence on earth?   What role does each faith/belief play in creating a peaceful planet?
The Peaceful One...
There once lived an older man whose name meant "The Peaceful One."  While he was in the market place one day a younger man approached him and asked, "Please, dear sir, what is your name?  I have noticed your serene countenance."
He smiled and said that he merely went by the name, "The Peaceful One".
A few minutes later, the younger man asked the older one if he would please repeat his name.  Again, the older man responded, quite annoyed, that he went by the name "The Peaceful One".

After a few more minutes the younger man asked yet again, "Just one more time, dear sir, what is your name?".

The older man became angry and yelled that his name was "The Peaceful One!"  Then he shook his cane at the younger man who quickly ran away.

While running, the young man shouted back over his shoulder, "Now it is clear.  Your
name is actually "The Angry One - The Burning One".

Saying and doing are often two different things.  How often do we find ourselves in
situations when we respond in less than "peaceful" ways while purporting to be a champion for peace?  On a daily basis, there seems to me, there are ongoing situations that challenge our "peace of mind".  How about traffic?  The oft long, slow moving lines in stores?  The way our local, state, federal governments operate?  The way another dresses, behaves, believes, looks?  Our children, spouse, in-laws?  The religious differences that appear to be less than to our liking?  And, on and on...  Can we achieve a peaceful planet if we, who espouse to be the holders of peace, act less  than peacefully on a daily basis?

Do you believe that thoughts held in mind produce after kind?  If so, what does that mean when it comes to creating a peaceful existence?  How can we overcome being "The Angry One - The Burning One: when this behavior arises?  Is repression of these
feelings all it takes to resume a peaceful composure?

Peace - harmony, without conflict

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peace describes a society or a relationship that is operating harmoniously and without violent conflict. Peace is commonly understood as the absence of hostility, or the existence of healthy or newly healed interpersonal or international relationships, safety in matters of social or economic welfare, the acknowledgment of equality and fairness in political relationships.

In international relations, peacetime is the absence of any war or conflict. The study of peace also involves the causes for its absence or loss. These potential causes include: insecurity, social injustice, economic inequality, political and religious radicalism, and acute racism and nationalism.

Peace On Earth - U-2

 video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kivf5Wi1q0c

lyrics

Heaven on Earth
We need it now
I'm sick of all of this
Hanging around

Sick of sorrow
I'm sick of the pain
I'm sick of hearing
Again and again
That there's gonna be
Peace on Earth

Where I grew up
There weren't many trees
Where there was we'd tear them down
And use them on our enemies

They say that what you mock
Will surely overtake you
And you become a monster
So the monster will not break you

And it's already gone too far
You said that if you go in hard
You won't get hurt

Jesus can you take the time
To throw a drowning man a line
Peace on Earth

Tell the ones who hear no sound
Whose sons are living in the ground
Peace on Earth

No who's or why's
No one cries like a mother cries
For peace on Earth

She never got to say goodbye
To see the color in his eyes
Now he's in the dirt
Peace on Earth

They're reading names out
Over the radio
All the folks the rest of us
Won't get to know

Sean and Julia
Gareth, Anne, and Breeda
Their lives are bigger than
Any big idea

Jesus can you take the time
To throw a drowning man a line
Peace on Earth

To tell the ones who hear no sound
Whose sons are living in the ground
Peace on Earth

Jesus in the song you wrote
The words are sticking in my throat
Peace on Earth

Hear it every Christmas time
But hope and history won't rhyme
So what's it worth

This peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth

Peace is it achievable?

Seems to me that until you stop running away from the hypercritical peaceful one whose actions do not parallel his claims, you run away from yet another small but significant opportunity to grow peace. The man claiming to be the peaceful one needs to be engaged, the olive branch accepted even if one fears it may burst into flames and devour us.

Until the words of our worst enemies are heard, considered, understood and through careful respectful dialogue embellished in any way possible including helping the hypocritical claimant to deal with his issues calmly and compassionately, how can peace be grown with this man, this man you have run away from so that you can tell the story to others which you now by doing so, excercise the same pre-emptive judgment upon all who do the same (i.e. most people of the world)..

So here is a real case to test your ability ... and hopefully to give me just one breath of hope that the great divide can be breached.

Hypocrisy is prevalent in every society fueled by self-righteousness and belief that whatever the side of the divide, you are on the side of right.

What do you say about this?

Peace

Wonderful poem, Open Heart

Thought provoking comment, Teddy Bear B

It seems that Peace must begin in your own life and heart.  Then, refusal to allow anything unpeaceful to "rock that boat" leads to extended peace in your life.  This is very hard to achieve and have any other people in your life!  It takes time to achieve and most people "don't have the time", are "in a hurry", have "things to do" that are more important than peace.  Peace is not something that just happens, it takes effort and desire.  Actions speak louder than words.

It's an example of: the butterfly effect, the Quantum Theory of Physics, the stone dropped into the water... the ripples started by just one person, just one heart, will eventually affect the whole world.  The big question???  Once the peace reaches the "ends of the earth", will that first heart desiring peace still have peace itself?  So goes the events of the world.  The key ingredient is Patience to wait for the "Peace of the world!"  Many a heart has begun the process, only to be the one that caused the failure of completion!

Church closing song recommendation; Let There Be Peace

This is a great song to close a religious service or interfaith event with.. or even an environmental, political or other event.. It is definitely interfaith and intercultural.

Peace Ignites Anger

Can you imagine or have you experienced the outrage and anger aroused in people especially religious people, when you show support for an "unpopular religion"? There was a time not very long ago when having any religion force fed as most devout "anykindofreligion" person are prone to do, was unacceptable to me. Now, though an atheist, I understand that if truly faithful, such people should be doing their very best to save my soul, so now I smile and listen and thank them for their concern.

Now I turn to them all and ask that they read and live by their scriptures and encourage all to (including people like me) to do the same, live like their prophets would have them live and demand that their leaders do too.

Forgive those who do wrong because they are driven by desperation, but punish, vilify and shame those who do so only to increase their already substantial wealth and greed .... these are the EVIL ones.

But why is it when I show understanding and compassion for especially Muslims I am subjected to anger and contempt? Seems I can be tolerated as an atheist, but try to argue that Muslims in their millions are peace God fearing and loving people, like any good person of any religion, and I am in trouble!

Why not listen. learn, respect, understand, discuss and find ways to gently influence reform ....... while considering ALL criticism of our ways which seem to have become so beyond change that just to be challenged is considered unacceptable.

What would your prophet do in such circumstances?

Anonymous
Two concepts ring out. Real, and unreal.

There may well be another way to see this, if peace is truly desired.

Punish, vilify, and shame.? No true prophet of peace uses these thots.

If anyone tries to fear and love they will always be in unresolveable conflict. One idea must be released. Only one is real.

The world is populated with those of the split mind. Their number cannot make them more right. Truth is not an opinion rendered by a superior judge. It is one whole and holy thought, truly believed and understood, and all the rest disapears.

There is insane thinking portrayed in the Bible and the Kuran. It is there for you to choose among, not to embrace both. A Loving creator cannot love and punish, nor can He hate anything. Which part of your Holy Creation would you choose to hate? What is real is also not changeable. Only what is real is eternal. You cannot have things as you would have them be and see the truth.

Is there a universal way to look at this?

Could all of the Holy Books be interpreted to focus on our own spiritual growth process, instead of being literal events that have no other possible meaning?

If yes, it changes the meaning and effects of any Holy Book drastically. When seen from a mystical or metaphysical viewpoint, all people and events in ANY Holy Book are but reflections of various aspects of ourselves, going through a spiritual growth and unfoldment of consciousness and awareness.

Because this viewpoint and interpretation of meaning  is infinite in potential and limitless in terms of possibility.. it also means there is no right/wrong, no dogma, no 'religion'.

Metaphysics  or mystical meaning is present in all paths, all religions, just about all beliefs, as well as all Holy Books..

Just by going inside, we can discover our true Self... We can discover the ultimate Truth for ourselves, without having anyone tell us how or what to believe...

How does this relate to peace and war? Stories in the Bible relate to the wars going on inside of us.. the battle between our dark side and light side, the unconscious, the superconscious, and the ego.. Which one wins, which one 'loses'? Christ could be seen as our own Christ Consciousness, which everyone has the potential of reaching.. When seen from this viewpoint, that kind of Consciousness is present in all religious paths, whether Jewish, Hindu, Christian, etc..

Could it be possible that as we move from thinking and coming from an ego viewpoint, along with it's black/white, right/wrong type of thinking, we may be able to grow in consciousness and awareness?

Would that mean that we then move or grow into more of a state of pure Being, where there is no judgement, no war, no separation, no right or wrong? Could this be the way inner peace is achieved, as we 'win' the war being waged within each of us?

As we each grow into this state of Beingness, could it be possible that we affect those around us, much like a sun warms the Earth, or a stove heats a room? Just by Being, peace may  be achieved, whether for a moment or a lifetime.

In my opinion, peace is always there, has always been there, will always be there, and has always been.. There is no effort involved in achieving peace when it comes down to it.. Peace is..

Peace and the Prophet

The Prophet comes in Peace to bring a Message from God.  The presence of the Prophet doesn't necessarily bring Peace.  I can tell you this from experience and from what is documented in the Bible.  People tend to hate the Prophet while the Prophet is alive and presenting his/her Message.  In retrospect, the masses come to Love the Prophet because hind sight is 20/20.

The Prophet, if it is me, will cry!!! I'm sure Isaiah (and the other Prophets) had his way of grieving over the people.  ...because the people won't listen and don't want Peace, or the Love of God, if it causes them to give up anything in the life they want to live.

I must comment, though, that I have never read or "seen" any insane thought in the Bible.  Insanity is relative... if someone or something is not the way you are or want things to be, then it is "insane".  And, that "insane" person may just think the same thing about you.  The Bible is a 3D document.  With Wisdom and Understanding comes the Truth of what is actually there.  I "see" only Love from a God who would do anything for us, give anything to us.

Baha'i Prayer for Peace

Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp unto those who walk in darkness, and a home to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath of life to the body of humankind, a dew to the soil of the human heart,
and a fruit upon the tree of humility.

May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid, and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power, and may people think of befriending one another.

and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood.

Blessed are the Peacemakers,
for they shall be known as the Children of God.
But I say to you that hear, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you,
pray for those who abuse you.
To those who strike you on the cheek, offer the other also,
and from those who take away your cloak,
do not withhold your coat as well.
Give to everyone who begs from you,
and of those who take away your goods, do not ask them again.
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Jainist Prayer for Peace

Jainist Prayer for Peace

Peace and Universal Love is the essence of the Gospel preached by all the Enlightened Ones.
The Lord has preached that equanimity is the Dharma.
Forgive do I creatures all, and let all creatures forgive me.
Unto all have I amity, and unto none enmity.
Know that violence is the root cause of all miseries in the world.
Violence, in fact, is the knot of bondage.
"Do not injure any living being."
This is the eternal, perennial, and unalterable way of spiritual life.

A weapon howsoever powerful it may be, can always be superseded by a superior one;
but no weapon can, however, be superior to non-violence and love.

Jewish Prayer for Peace

Jewish Prayer for Peace

Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
that we may walk the paths of the Most High.
And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares,
and our spears into pruning hooks.
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation—
neither shall they learn war any more.
And none shall be afraid,
for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken.

A Prayer for World Peace

A Prayer for World Peace

by Jane Goodall

We pray to the great Spiritual Power in which
we live and move and have our being.
We pray that we may at all times
keep our minds open to new ideas and shun dogma;
that we may grow in our understanding of the nature of all living beings
and our connectedness with the natural world;
that we may become ever more filled with
generosity of spirit and true compassion and love for all life;
that we may strive to heal the hurts that we have inflicted on nature
and control our greed for material things, knowing that
our actions are harming our natural world and the future of our children;
that we may value each and every human being
for who he is, for who she is,
reaching to the spirit that is within,
knowing the power of each individual to change the world.

We pray for social justice,
for the alleviation of the crippling poverty
that condemns millions of people around the world
to lives of misery - hungry, sick, and utterly without hope.
We pray for the children who are starving,
who are condemned to homelessness, slave labor, and prostitution,
and especially for those forced to fight, to kill and torture
even members of their own family.
We pray for the victims of violence and war,
for those wounded in body and for those wounded in mind.
We pray for the multitudes of refugees, forced from their homes to alien places
through war or through the utter destruction of their environment.

We pray for suffering animals everywhere,
for an end to the pain caused by scientific experimentation,
intensive farming, fur farming, shooting, trapping,
training for entertainment, abusive pet owners,
and all other forms of exploitation
such as overloading and overworking pack animals,
bull fighting, badger baiting, dog and cock fighting and so many more.

We pray for an end to cruelty,
whether to humans or other animals,
for an end to bullying, and torture in all its forms.
We pray that we may learn the peace that comes with forgiving
and the strength we gain in loving;
that we may learn to take nothing for granted in this life;
that we may learn to see and understand with our hearts;
that we may learn to rejoice in our being.

We pray for these things with humility;
We pray because of the hope that is within us,
and because of a faith in the ultimate triumph of the human spirit;
We pray because of our love for Creation, and because of our trust in God.
We pray, above all, for peace throughout the world.

Almighty God, the Great Thumb
we cannot evade to tie any knot:
The Roaring Thunder that splits mighty trees;

even the footprints of an antelope on a rock mass here on earth.
You are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call.
You are the cornerstone of peace.

O Great spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you;
To your messengers in the four winds, and

Let us learn to share all good things that you provide for us on this Earth.

In the name of Allah the beneficent, the merciful. Praise be to the Lord of the Universe, who has created us and made us into tribes and nations that we may know each other, not that we may despise each other.
If the enemy incline towards peace, do thou also incline towards peace, and trust God, for the Lord is the one that heareth and knoweth all things.

Although the people living across the ocean surrounding us, I believe, are all our brothers and sisters, why are there constant troubles in this world?

Lead me from death to life,

Prayer

Thank you, Green Road.  Well said.

Thank you, Open Heart.  If you looked deeply within, with acceptance and Love, what would be your own prayer to share with us? We can all read the writings from the past which aspire to eternity, but how does that open your own mind to oneness right now? With great appreciation, I would really like to hear your intuition. Thank you for your offering and your will for peace.

Can you accept the challenge?

I have asked many people to accept my challenge .... listen carefully to this man and tell me why it is that his olive branch, his offers and thoughts as to why the world is in such a mess shattered by no less than six major wars and many many more not so major wars under ruling regimes which have failed.

Shouldn't we be at least considering his ideas for world peace and if only one of many such is acceptable to begin a dialogue then why don't we?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IKUsbHfRew

Am I mistaken believing that no western culture is willing to even examine objectively what is said?

For me, some meaningful response to this is critical to my hope that it can be seen that there is only one path to peace and to get there we all need to be on it.

Each with his own path with barriers and knights to ensure that only those acceptable to our particular path are allowed to walk it ... normally requiring denouncing of all others and swearing allegiance to the new!

I don't understand why the only responses I have had here and elsewhere to this challenge have ranged from strongly negative to out right walk out anger. And in all cases the discussion is about world peace!

Open Heart's Peace Prayer...

Let us turn within…  and enter into the inner stillness.  It is there we find the peace that passes understanding.  Peace is always with, in, and as us.  Our hearts call, and open, for the full expression of that inner peace to express as us.  So within, so without.  Though we are imperfect, we are yet made in Your perfect image.  Lift our eyes and fill our heart’s so that we might know a higher, gentler way, a way that is love in action.

Let us be pure in thought and word and deed and love all.  May we know ourselves as

I AM...

I am One with You.

I am not a body.

I am not a mind.

I am my brother and my sister, and live and breathe and bleed in the same way in the

physical.

I am the earth, the universes, the unknown mysteries.

I am a conscious, living, entity, a soul.

I am now manifesting your perfection and serving in peace.

I am open to be good and do good.

I am One.

Let us live a life of humility and simplicity.

Let us be the peace we wish to see.

Peace

Peace Be

Peace Be Still

Peace Be Still and Know

Peace Be Still and Know that I AM

Open Heart's Peace Prayer (continued)

Peace

Peace Be

Peace Be Still

Peace Be Still and Know

Peace Be Still and Know that I AM

Peace Be Still and Know that I AM GOD

For as we come to exist in our Oneness, the Universal Consciousness, we let go of the fear, the heaviness, the pain, the feeling of separation, and our differences of opinion that keep us from the Light-Life-Love-Abundance-Peace that is our Truth.

And for this Truth, for Peace, we give thanks, grateful for our ever expanding capacity to seek and know Peace.  May we let Peace live and move and fill our beings.  May we be instruments for Your Peace.

 Peace... be still

And so it is…

As I grew older and learned history, war, and separation, I dreamed of peace among the people, the religions, and the countries.  I lived and taught overseas for 32 years, and watched from afar America's struggle with an insidious type of control and greed.  Love, respect, and trust was not leading.

I wish I could embrace all humanity on earth and instill belief in 'themselves', in one another with total love, respect and trust.  This, then, would finally give us peace on earth.

"Peace is inevitable, if we are willing to explore the inherent truth of human unity-if we are willing to contemplate the undeniable fact that we are all one, that we are interdependent, and interconnected."  Dennis Kucinich

Truth

Thank you for reminding me of Dennis Kucinich. This sent me back to Wikipedia to read of him again, the only reading I have done on this clearly brave and exceptional man. Add to this the fact that in the last two days I have been listening to Jesse Ventura on Larry King, I start to hope that there may be some chance yet for the only country with the chance of delivering peace in my lifetime may have enough such influential people to grow a new approach.

Truly, the USA has to accept that it has failed to deliver peace and that it's policies ARE creating the foundations for MORE conflict.

If the USA does not see this before China moves from it's imminent accession to the worlds #1 economy to the world's #1 power, then it will require another 50 years of muscle flexing and reformation of human rights before the chance for peace presents itself again.

Kucinich's words are fundamental to world peace. America does NOT command societal morality over ANY other nation. Is it just possible that it's leadership IS corrupt and distracted towards the two party political war and their corporate masters, to the point of almost losing sight of the needs of the people of the USA, driving the country into serious economic turmoil, while “saving” the people of Iraq, meddling in the affairs of Iran, supporting the Nation of the area which has participated in approximately one war per decade since it's inception.

Please, now resist any temptation to react emotionally to this last comment -

You list the prayers of many different religions and faiths. How many trillions of such prayers have been uttered by how many billions of faithful and good people in the last century where no less than six major wars and at least a dozen "ordinary" wars have been perpetrated.

Prayer is not going to do it.

If you and I and others like us do as Kucinich asks especially "explore the inherent truth of human unity" and equally clearly by Dr. Ahmadinejad on July 23 to the UN assembly, we have a chance.

Until each of us realizes, that we need to listen first to others and try to find every possible point of agreement, pursue each together with willingness to recognize and concede that the other "side" has been created by our actions as much as by theirs, that what we believe to be true is open to question and careful scrutiny by the other “side”, what chance can there be?

May as well go on praying for another hundred years to the higher being that clearly has shown us all, it is a problem which is not going to be sorted FOR us, rather BY us.

Surely it is clear to every faith, there will be no divine intervention.

Anonymous
Not in the World Outside Your Own Mind!

I Pray and Spirit guides me; Divine intervention comes when asked for, and it comes from within. All that is not Love is a lesson in Love's awareness. This is not to say one may be a lesson maker for others, unless one is knowing that the illusion and it's attendant pain and suffering will be visited upon the self also.

Two thots.

Gods will is perfect happiness. All thots extend like themselves.

You can create peace - God clearly will or can not

Anonymous wtf is this?

"Punish, vilify, and shame.? No true prophet of peace uses these thots."

.... then neither Jesus or Mohammad was a true prophet ... just go and read .... and the first testament at least, simply on these terms CANNOT be the word of God! ... it is a testament to Gods relentless punishment of mankind!

"A Loving creator cannot love and punish, nor can He hate anything. " ... absolutely, so there can be no "loving" creator at least.

Perhaps a creator who does not love or hate? ... difficult concept as to why such a supreme being created anything ... boredom perhaps? ... nothing better to do?

A hating creator ... like creating ants so you can crush them from time to time for something to do! .... makes no sense either, though while if this was the case, there might be some evidence throughout time of such a hating God, returning from time to time to inflict dreadful catastrophic punishment on his creations!

Time to step forward as mankind, put aside the question of God .... behave as each of us truly knows we ought to behave ... do not do ANYTHING we know in our heart to be wrong .... and finally ... yes ...

Do not stand aside and watch the terrible things done by your neighbour, by your employer, by your leaders ... stand up, make yourself heard, reject and condemn, vilify and punish such behaviour by banishing those who perpetrate such from society as did Jesus and other "no true prophets".

Peace is not something to aspire to, something to pray for, something to live in hope for, something to believe will be brought to bear through the will, the goodness and the mercy of some God who will love you no matter what you do ... start by making it happen and demanding it of all around you ... and above all, stop believing that no matter what bad thing you might do in your life, God will forgive you ... instead, make sure there is nothing you might do in what remains of your life which you may need to be forgiven for doing or (just as importantly) not doing!

Just two days ago, I watched and listened to a man who had committed murder and other terrible things in his mafia style gang who described how he believed he was going to be shot dead by the man who was holding a gun to his head "I thought I was going to die, I was praying the whole time!"

Oh please .......

[PS What is "thots" and how can anonymous post on this "Anonymous posts not allowed in this group?"]

No takers

While I accept that few only pass by an read such things as posted here .... most are out there trying to scrape enough together to keep themselves in the luxuries we have come to see as "necessities of life" .... huge homes, multi cars far bigger than we need etc. ... while those at the top of the materialistic alter of true happiness could care less anyway ...

it truly bothers me that not here or in many other forums can I get response to my challenge relating to the peace initiatives mouthed by DR Ahmadinejad and I just need to repeat what I submitted under "can you accept the challenge" above.

Hear was a real and current and relevant example of the man called "The peaceful one" .. who may very well be the angry one ... but he offered real and constructive initiatives to moving forward to peace ... the only response to this was .... "Thought provoking comment, Teddy Bear B" but no comment on any one of the peace initiatives offered by this man .....

I don't get it .... why no response? ... especially here ... perhaps nobody has the time to listen to "the peaceful one" or perhaps like those who walked out on the speech (ie as far as I could tell, all Western Nations) it is not appropriate even to listen or consider the words of one calling across the chasm of war, of violence, of devastation, plunder and murder ... ?

Please tell me?

Is this truth? Why not embrace it?

“The world needs the logic of compassion and justice and inclusive participation instead of logic of force, domination, unilateralism, war and intimidation.” Dr Ahmadinejad UN speech September20, 2010

One of many initiatives .......

"Is it just possible that it's leadership IS corrupt..."

Actually, Teddy, America is owned by the corporate billionaires, and we, the people are the slaves.  The people have been alerted, finally, by the recession, and now the people are learning what it will take (Madison, WI) to fight our way back to freedom.  Rent the film/DVD:  America: From Freedom to Fascism, by Aaron Russo, 2006, and also "Inside job" Political documentary of the collapse of the global financial system narrated by Matt Damon.  We, the people, have a huge struggle facing us...FAITH will be the better word than billionaires...

Oh yeh!

Thank you Joy, I will look at these but I have read widely on the subjects both, and need no convincing on either subject. Global Economy I can tell you although far less qualified than people like Joseph Stiglitz.

Yes, it gives some of the most downtrodden nations the opportunity of growth, but here in Australia it devastates industry after industry and sees orchardists cutting down their trees because they cannot compete with fruit flown in from around the world.

But what it is really about is corporations paying 1$ a day for labor instead of $400 a day or some small multiple of that, flying in it's produce regardless of it's true cost to us all and selling on to the public at prices the same as those previously charged for the locally produced product .... in other words ... with no benefit to the Australian/American etc consumer other than unemployment and ever growing strains on social support!

Just sickening, just stupid!!!!

You see Joy, corporations simply do not care about anybody but their shareholders, and when the company elite management do well, the shareholders just stand back and approve outrageous "compensation" for all their "brilliant work" and their political servants just go right along with it because that's where their campaign money comes from.

and why would politicians go along with it all??? hmmmmm ... surely not! Could not possibly bribery, corruption and co-coercion! Not in free and democratic countries like USA, Australia, Canada, Britain ....

Peace is its own reward.
