I put the news about Afghanistan on several different threads. This is because Afghanistan is so dangerous and hostile to Christians in so many ways! The Taliban and others are especially hateful towards Christians and the present society there does not accept Christianity. Many Christians die in Afghanistan, while others must go underground, symbolically. These brave Christians need our prayers! God Bless, Donna
I'm very thankful for our family in Afghanistan, as it is written in Matthew 9:10 While Yeshua was in the house eating, many tax-collectors and sinners came and joined him and his talmidim at the meal. When the P'rushim saw this, they said to his talmidim, "Why does your rabbi eat with tax-collectors and sinners?" But Yeshua heard the question and answered, "The ones who need a doctor aren't the healthy but the sick. As for you, go and learn what this means: "I want compassion rather than animal-sacrifices." For I didn't come to call the righteous,' but sinners.! and in Matthew 5:14 "You are the light for the world, A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Likewise, when people light a lamp, they don't cover it with a bowl but put it on a lampstand, so that it shines for everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven, and then there is my favorite Deuteronomy 5:6 I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where lived as slaves. 5:7 You are to have no other gods before me. 5:11 You are not to misuse the name of Adonai your God. 5:12 Obeserve the Shabbat, to set it apart as Holy, as Adonai your God ordered you to do. 5:16 Honor your Mother and Father. 5:17 Do not Murder. 5:18 Do not commit adultery. 5:19 Do not steal. 5:20 Do not give false evidence against your neighbor. 5:21 Do not covet your neighbor's wife; Do not covet your neighbor's house, his field, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
I know that our family in Afghanistan is being victimized, tortured, murdered and even worse things. I am so honored that they our a part of us and we apart of them. They may not feel us or they might think they alone. Thank God is with them may He give them strength, comfort and wisdom. Thank you God for their faith in you. I know how difficult it is for them to live in Afghanistan during these years. I know how tempted they are not to be a light and to try to hide who they are what they believe and what they stand for. God Bless and Keep them!
