| Blue Label

This is a petition site that anyone can use specifically for petitions to help Christians. You may put on petitions for Christians and we especially welcome petitions for Persecuted Christians and those who are being challenged in their faith! We welcome petitions for home and house churches, and the right to freedom of religion. We also hope for petitions to help teens and college students to establish independent interdenominational student worship centers.

Dear Friend,

I’m overwhelmed by the incredible response we’ve had to help prevent Makhset Djabbarbergenov from being forcibly returned to Uzbekistan!  The Kazakh government now knows that Christians care about Makhset’s situation and are watching how they will treat him.  But we need to keep the pressure up, so please take action today if you haven’t already sent a message on his behalf!

Makhset is a former Uzbek house church pastor from Uzbekistan who was arrested and brought into court six times! Following a police raid on his family’s apartment in 2007, the Djabbarbergenov’s fled to Kazakhstan where they applied for asylum through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The UNHCR determined that the family qualified because they would face prosecution due to their Christian faith should they return to Uzbekistan.

Unfortunately, the Kazakh government disagreed and has ruled against Makhset at several turns. His case now rests before the country’s highest court, which has yet to set a date for his extradition hearing.
Kazakh authorities arrested Makhset on September 2, and are holding him in Almaty’s investigation prison. Prosecutors have also moved ahead in response to Uzbekistan’s request to return him to face charges.
That’s why we are asking our supporters to urgently send a message to the Kazakh Ambassador to the United States, asking that the Kazakh government not forcibly return Makhset to Uzbekistan!

Uzbekistan wants Makhset repatriated to face charges that he practiced religion outside of state regulations. The two charges awaiting him in Uzbekistan each carry a maximum penalty of three years in prison.
Makhset is married to Aigul who is currently expecting their fifth child. Please pray for divine intervention in this situation. We also ask that you forward this campaign to your friends and family as we need to spread awareness and action as quickly as possible.
Advocating with you,

Lindsay Vessey
