TRANFORMATION~

TRANFORMATION~WHAT IS TRANSFORMATION?~

Corrected~

Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary:

Definitions:

Transform:

1.] c.) To change in character or condition.

Transformation:

1.] an act, process, or instance of transforming, or being transformed.

When you give your life to Jesus you become a new creation! When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you are also transformed. This is an act in which you have an instance of tranformation. In otherwords, you change in your charactor and in your condition. However, this is just the beginning! In Ephesians 5:26

26.) That He might santify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Titus 3:5&6

5.) Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

6.)Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

There is much more to these verses; however, for the purposes of definition of transformation, I will stop here.

Transformation is brought on by the act of asking Jesus into one's life. With the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; regeneration and renewal, come also. However; this is an act which happens as an instance, but also as a process!

The Holy Spirit will continually work on your character; and your condition, by washing you to regeneration, and renewing you, and you can only be baptized in the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is a continual process of cleansing, (but the actual act of giving oneself to Jesus; and thus gaining salvation is done only once in the beginning, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit happens once also). Jesus sheds the Holy Spirit on us, both in salvation and in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; and we are instantly transformed. It is after this that a process begins of washing, renewing, and regeneration begins. The Holy Spirit will work on your charactor, and transform your very being, on a continual basis.

Ephesians 5:26

26.) That He might santify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

You can not be saved by reading the Bible. The only way you can gain salvation is by repenting, and turning your life over to Jesus. Jesus is often referred to as the Word! He has santified us with salvation, and shed the Holy Spirit upon us. But the word, can also be the written word, written down, by men guided by the Holy Spirit. In other words, the Bible.

The Bible does not mean much to an unsaved person, but to a saved person, it is a light and a spiritual guide; and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, gives us an even deeper, spiritual insight to the word of God.
This is why I urge you to study the Bible on a regular, because you are not just gaining head knowledge by doing this, but you are gaining heart knowledge, and a spiritual washing.

The Bible also washes us as we study! For when guided by the Holy Spirit in our Bible Study, we will be shown things, we have not noticed, and have not understood before. We will understand Godly principles, and gain deeper insight as our spirit in Christ grows, and we will gain a deeper spiritual wisdom. and sometimes we will be wowed, or say to ourself, wow! For sometimes there are no words that we can find to express, when we are shown the word of the Lord; through the Holy Spirit! God provided us this way to keep us cleansed, on the right path, and to transform us!

PRAYER~

PRAYER~HOW TO BEGIN?~

After you ask Jesus into your life; you need to establish a regular prayer life. Prayer is important and is how you keep that life-line open to Jesus! At first it may seem difficult; and awkward to pray but even if you just say a few words to God each day and use the words in Jesus name at the end of the prayer you will be strenghtening your relationship with Jesus. Some people also have trouble praying to God as a Father because their own fathers were abusive, or non-caring, but the Holy Spirit will help guide you in prayer and Jesus will heal you of your past hurts. It might take some time; but the healing will happen.

The next thing you will want to do is establish a place in your home to pray. You can pray anywhere at any time; however, regular prayer is important and this will happen when you make yourself prayer. It is easier to establish regular prayer when you establish a time and place to pray. Some people have great success when they create a 'Prayer Room', for themselves, also called a 'Prayer Closet'. This could be an extra room you have in the house, or even your bedroom. Fix your 'Prayer Room' up for yourself; making it comfortable and inviting. Some people use candles and some don't. The candles won't make your prayers more effective, but they will give the room a nice atmosphere. I use scented candles sometimes, but keep in mind that there are prisoners of faith who pray in filthy; and uncomfortable cells, (often hungry and suffering from beatings) and the Lord hears their prayers as well as ours. Your surroundings do not make your prayers more effective; however, your sincerity does! There are times when I have merely uttered God help me! or Jesus help me!; and He has. But in most situations, the Lord wants you to pray a sincere prayer, not just asking for things, but He wants to hear your praises, and thanks also. He is happy to give to you; when He knows it is best for you, but as any good father, He wants to know that you appreciate Him, and to hear a thank you.

Once you have a prayer room, you need to visit your prayer room; and prayer every day! Daily prayer keeps you in touch with God, and strengthens your faith in Jesus.

1.] Daily prayer is more effective when you set aside a prayer time; and stick to that time. That doesn't mean you can't pray at other times, but regular prayer at the same time every day will establish a good habit, in the Lord, and will be easier to remember.

2.] If you can; try to pray when you first get up,( which will make a difference in the rest of the da)y, and you might even find another time during the day, for a second prayer time. Some people pray throughout the day, on their breaks, or in spare moments of their day. Greeting the Lord will help you in your spiritual walk for the rest of the day!

3.] Your prayers of course are personal and private, but there are certain prayers you can say that will be helpful.

a.) Greet the Lord will praises and if you can; even song, in your prayer~

b.) Thank the Lord for the day, and for answered, and even unanswered prayer~

c.) Ask for spiritual guidance and direction during the day~

d.) Ask the Lord to keep you on the right path; to help you to do His will~

e.) Ask for protection from the Lord during the day~

f.) Petition your personal prayers than~

g.) Pray all this in the name of Jesus~

When you ask Jesus to Baptise you in the Holy Spirit, you will find that you are helped in your prayer!

When you are Baptised in the Holy Spirit, you will find that you gain help with your prayers! When Jesus Baptizes you in the Holy Spirit; you are given certain spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit will also help you in prayer when you do not know what to pray! One gift the Holy Spirit gives you is speaking in tongues; or other languages.Your prayers will reach the Father in a different language; that the Holy Spirit has given you. And sometimes the Holy Spirit provides you with the right words to say, in your own language! The Holy Spirit also gives you the gift of singing in the Spirit, and praying in the Spirit. Sometimes you may find yourself singing a prayer, either in another language, or in English! The Holy Spirit will also give you insights, teach, and give you guidance! Ask Jesus to Baptize you in the Holy Spirit, and you will recieve the Holy Spirit poured down upon you! Sometimes it will be very emotional and sometimes not, but always you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus does not lie; nor break His promises!

BIBLE STUDY~

BIBLE STUDY~HOW AND WHY?~

Why do we need to study the Bible?

Consider Ephesians 5:26

26.) That He might santify and cleanse her with the washing of the water of the word.

This verse has multiple meanings; one being the church, but for this purpose we will of individuals reading the Bible. Reading the Bible actually cleanses us; for when we first come to know Jesus, our heads are full of ideas, that are false, and not of Jesus. Through reading the Bible we come to understand what God actually wants from us; however, you can't understand the Bible by reading one sentence, paragraph, or one book of the Bible, and reading the Bible just one time will not lead you to a true understanding either. You must read the Bible each and every day; and never stop reading the Bible. My recommendation is that you read the New Testament completely through; at least one time, and than read the Old Testament. The Old Testament is very symbolic, prophetic, and contains alot of history; while the New Testament tells of Jesus, teaches about salvation, and Godly Principles. The Old Testament teaches Godly principles also; however, some principles are based on ancient Jewish practises which are no longer valid, and the New Testament will explain this to you. And some principles of the Old Testament are very valid; and the New Testament will explain this for you. My recommendation for New Christians is that they read the Bible at least 15 minutes a day, or more if they feel led to; but not less, starting with the New Testament.

So now we know that the Bible-

1.) (The word) washes and cleanses you; according to Epehsians 5:26.

2.) We also know that the Bible  teaches Godly principles.

3.) We know that the Bible teaches about Salvation.

4.) The Bible also teaches you how to live from day to day.

The world teaches us many different ways to live; and is confusing, and sometimes very hostile. The Bible will teach you what Jesus wants you to do; and how Jesus wants you to live. Since Jesus is the Son of God, and part of God, He knows exactly what God wants us to learn. When I feel confused about everything that the world is teaching; I  know I can rely on the Bible, and on Jesus to help me. For Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

And one thing that the world is teaching us; is to harden our hearts. But throughout the New Testament you will find that we are to have compassion, and care for others. This is one example among many examples that I can give. Since you a 'New Christian' you will not understand alot in the Bible, but you will understand what the Holy Spirit wants you to understand, and the Holy Spirit will guide you in your study of the Bible. At first you will be given milk, as a baby drinks milk and would choke on meat, but later you will be introduced to meat.

There will come a day; when you will say, wow, why didn't I notice that before, and why didn't I understand? You didn't understand; because you weren't ready to understand.

#5.) The Bible will teach you how to deal with the world! As I have explained, and many of you already know, the world is a confusing, and frustrating place to live in. People have become hardened, mean, and unforgiving. Christians are often critizied; and even persecuted, and standards set by the world can be very unGodly, and the Media sets up quite a double standard.

Jesus tells us to forgive others, and to pray for our enemies, while Ephesians 6:11-18 tells us to put on the armor of God.

#6.) The Bible also gives us encouragement!

Throughout both the Old Testament; and the New Testament there is encouragement to help in our walk with Jesus, and to help us deal with life in general.

#7.) The Bible will renew your mind; along with the Holy Spirit. You will understand things that non-Christians will not be able to understand, and will be given wisdom. The Holy Spirit will do this; however, the Holy Spirit also uses the Bible to teach and to give wisdom; and will guide you to what you need to know!

The Bible can do so many things for you that I can not list everything; but I hope to have given you an idea ofwhy you should read the Bible and study the Bible.

How to study the Bible~

I have given you a couple of tips on reading and studying the Bible; and now I will give you some more tips on reading the Bible.

So far I have told you to read the Bible:

1.] Fifteen minutes a day~

2.] To read the New Testament first~

3.] To read the Bible everyday~

4.] Now it is important to set aside a time of the day to read the Bible. This is good discipline and helps you to remember to read the Bible. It keeps you on track to have a certain schedule for reading the Bible. If you stick to this schedule and read the Bible everyday for fifteen minutes everyday; you will find that you are actually beginning to be fed; or to get some meaning out of the Bible. For some of you it may be more difficult; than for others, but do not give up, for the more you read the Bible, the easier it will become.

How to study the Bible~

5.] There are several other ways to study the Bible~

By subject~ for instance if you are interested in  love, prayer, or any other subject, you can study all the verses, that contain that word. you  need a Bible Concordance.

A Bible Concordance, is a large book that alphabetically list words in the Bible, and where to find those words. Bible Concordances are sold in most Bible Book stores, and occassionally you can find used ones in used book stores, e-bay, etc. You can also cross reference with concordances.

They are extremely useful in studying the Bible.

6.]You can study the Bible by doing a study of one book of the Bible, such as John, or Romans, etc. Many  study books are sold and sometimes very cheaply; which will take you  through certain books of the Bible, and they are helpful; however, do not give up your daily reading of the Bible, because the Holy Spirit, will guide you in this, while a book study is written by humans.

7.]There are Bible Study groups in churches and fellowships all over. This is where a group of Christians gather to do a Bible Study and a pastor or spiritual leader teaches and guides this group in a Bible Study.

8.] There are also tapes, books, television Bible Studies, and internet Bible Studies.

While you may participate in all of these; please do not give  up on your daily Bible Reading and study!

GATHERING TOGETHER~

GATHERING TOGETHER FOR FELLOWSHIP, PRAYER, AND BIBLE STUDY~

Gathering together is both a privalege of Christians; and a right. It keeps us in unity, and encourages us in our walk in Christ. Gathering together is meant to edify, and build us up in Christ. It also strengthens us, and keeps our faith solid. Fellowshiping is a learning experience; as we learn to interact as a Christly family, and as we practise forgiveness, tolerance, and agape love.

Not only this but a fellowship can pray for us, and we can pray for our fellowship. Together as a fellowship we can combine our gifts, to help, heal, teach, edify, and to communicate prophecy, direction and instruction.

Ecclesiastes 4:12

12.) Though one may be overpowered by another,

two can withstand him.

And a threefold cord is not easily broken.

Fellowship in prayer is also a something that is important when it comes to encouragement, and edification, as well as faith building, and creating unity; however, it is also important because the Lord wants us to gather in agreement in prayer.

Matthew 18:19-20

19.) "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask,  it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

20.) "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them.

Prayer groups from your fellowship can also pray for healing, safety and protection, prayer to for you family, community, individuals, and to undo troubles and curses. As a fellowship group, prayer can be said to place a hedge of protection, chase away demonic spirits, bind evil spirits, or to build foundations, and walls of Godly principles. A fellowship praying in agreement  and faith, can send very effective prayers indeed.

HELPING OTHERS~

Part of being a Christian is helping others.

Matthew 9:13

13.) "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice. 'for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentence'.

So as we go about our daily lives, we should remember this verse. And other teachings of Jesus, such as the Good Samaritan

Luke 10:30-35

30.)Than Jesus answered and said;"A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jerico, and fell among thieves, who stripped  him of his clothing, wounded him, and left him half dead.

31.) "Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed to the other side.

32.) And likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked and passed by on the other side.

33.) "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

34.) "So he went out to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine;and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35.) "On the next day, when he departed he took two denari, and gave them to the Inn Keeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'

Like the good Samaritan, you are comanded by Jesus to be a good neighbor.

But helping can be anything that comes along in life. For instance shoveling the sidewalk; or salting the sidewalk of a neighbor who can not shovel for himself, or herself, giving transportation, helping out with a gas bill, or helping with groceries.  Any kind of help; however small, even (giving a small child a glass of water), is important and appreciated by the Lord, who wants us to be merciful.

Whether you help a person that you know; or help a stranger, you are doing the Lord's will. Whether you are helping a neighbor; or your family, you are also doing the Lord's will. Read Matthew 6:1-4

And what pleases the Lord most is when you help secretly; without bragging or showing off. This is truly the Lord's will, and I know that it is not always possible to help secretly; however, when you do, your reward will be in heaven. If you help out in the open; however, do it sincerely, without wanting others to see, and without bragging. The Lord will see your heart, and know you are not doing it just for the attention, or for the praise of men.

For instance a few years ago, when we had a frigidly cold day, I saw that my neighbors had around the corner, had a very slick layer of ice on her sidewalk. I knew she was elderly, and could not salt that sidewalk herself, and I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to help, so I salted her sidewalk. I had just barely finished when a young mother with a stroller; in which a young child sat, walked over the sidewalk. Because it was so very cold, she was walking quickly to get to her destination, and if I had not salted this ladies sidewalk, she would have fallen, and perhaps her and her child, would have been injured. I use this example to teach, because it is a wonderful example of how important it is to help; and to listen to the Holy Spirit.
