(AP) NJ Gov. Christie: Call from The Boss made me weep
New Jersey's famously tough-talking governor finally got a hug from his longest-running unrequited love.

Speaking Monday at a briefing on storm recovery. Gov. Chris Christie revealed he unexpectedly spoke with Bruce Springsteen earlier in the day. Christie had been discussing storm-related matters with President Barack Obama when Obama handed the phone to Springsteen, who was traveling with him as part of a campaign trip.

Christie also said he got a hug from Springsteen at Friday's benefit concert for storm victims.

The famously liberal Springsteen had never previously acknowledged the Republican governor. Christie considers himself among The Boss' biggest fans and has attended more than 100 of his concerts.

Christie has praised Obama's handling of the storm, while continuing to back Mitt Romney.

Christie says he wept at home after meeting his idol, calling it a major highlight during a tough week.

Puke.....maybe this was Christie's promise from obama if he would do a  photo op with him and praise him.  Trust me.....many are saying Christie gave obama a bump in the polls because is made obama look presidential and able to reach across the aisle......wth????  I think Christie mucked up.......he had another motive in all this...not just his state....maybe a promise in obama's cabinet if he helps him win the next four years....I just wish Christie wouldn't have done this....especially at a time when Romney was showing stopped him dead for 2 days while obama got all the high fives with Christie by his side.....not happy about this at all.....and imagine this....the liberals are slobbering all over Christie...who they absolutely hated the man before....HMmMMM

Christie is a RINO!!!

He did what he had to do in order to get help for his people.  He is surrounded by Dems who would get the help anyway.  Is that not what you would expect from YOUR Governor?  I have to say though I once thought Christie would be a good Pres - but not anymore.

I see what you are saying Cam and yes I would expect my Governor to ask for help but I would not expect my Governor to slober all over Obama in order to get it which IMO is what Christie has done here. It's MO..but in all honesty this is what I saw!

I never liked should have listened to some of Mark Levin's opinions of him...he had him pegged from the start.  Christie is not presidential material at all....not even VP.  I think slamming your own people in townhall meetings is very immature and rude.....Christie never wants to admit when he is wrong....never wants to listen to any one who doesn't agree with him.  He is worse than obama.....and that is saying alot coming from me!!!!

There was an alternative motive in Christie's photo op and praise.....I think that 3am phone call with obama the night before was only some back patting going on.....jmho

Hey I just heard your first polls open and close at midnight in Mass - about an hour and some from now.  If I am recalling right Obie won most of those votes and it went downhill from there.  I am hoping to see something different tonight for sure.

By tomorrow morning we should have a fair amount of votes in and counted so I will wait until then..gonna hit the hay here for tonight so will check back in tomorrow!!

That's what I'm seeing -Christie rino.  Being big enough to ask for help is great, but that doesn't mean you have to act like a teen idol to get it. And if you do, to hell with that and I would be slandering the bozo for what he is and what he expects from a person to get help, damned if his ass would be kissed to get it.
