Explanatory Style Test (Optimism).
My results:

Some people, the ones who give up easily, habitually say of their misfortunes: "It's me, it's going to last forever, it's going to undermine everything I do." Others, who resist giving in to misfortune, say: "This was just circumstances, it's going away quickly anyway, and, besides, there's much more to life."

In other words, your explanatory style can be broken down into three main components. When bad (or good) events happened, you see them in varying degrees of:

PERMANENCE: Is it likely to continue?
PERVASIVENESS: Is it reflective of your whole life?
PERSONALNESS: Is it your fault?

The 24 questions you just answered measure all three components for both good events and for bad events. From that information, we can determine:

HOPEFULNESS
YOUR OVERALL OPTIMISM SCORE
