We lost our little dog Tater 10/29. She got through my legs when there were trick or treaters at the door. John gave chase, but she ran out on to a busy street. The guy who hit her was so apologetic... It wasn't his fault... Tater's... coloring blended in with the color of the road at dusk.
We didn't have her long, but she sure got her fur into our hearts so quickly.
So why I am I posting this in an Attitude of Gratitude? A number of reasons...
We really enjoyed Tater... she brought a lot of life & joy into our lives...
She was so cute...
Although my hubby had to witness the accident, if he'd been able to reach her "in time," he would probably been the one hit... and for that I'm truly thankful.
All this hurts right now, but given time to works through the grief, we will be able to see what Tater brought to our lives without being blinded by tears.

Peace & blessings,
Marge
Marge, I am so sorry that you lost Tater. It doesn't matter how long you've had a pet—Once they've got their fur in your hearts. I love that expression! My old cat Simon (17 y.o.) got in a heated battle with a stray on our patio the other night. I'm surprised he didn't die from a heart attack. Then I laughed at myself for picking up some clumps of his hair to keep for when he is gone.
I really have decided to be grateful for the time he has left. I hope it makes him happier also.
Dear Marge, I really feel for you loss as I have had many special animal friends in my life too. I believe that once the hurt subsides a little you will be full of gratitude for the love Tater brought to you and grateful that you were blessed to have an 'angel' beside you even for a short time. For I believe that animals really are angels sent to love us and teach us how to love unconditionally. She is definitely with you in spirit. Blessings to you and your family.
