A friend
who was my neighbor for over 2 years, then moved to California, has returned to San Antonio and lives in the apartment complex right next to mine.
She has a new 4 mo-old boy in addition to her 7 yr. old boy. She is from India, so that is all the children for her.
Well, I can't say it made me smile exactly, but it is a great relief to know Social Security granted my disability status. ![]()
The judge adjuticated me disabled at the hearing... That's a rarity. Usually the judge gets input from the vocational rehab person & then has something like 4 to 6 weeks to decide & submit the findings. A judge almost nevewr gives his decision at a hearing!
Peace & blessings,
Marge

Is this too hard to read? OK. What I'm grateful for today is having finished correcting the errors on my annual medical expense report for Housing Authority. I think tomorrow I will be happy to drive downtown and turn it in! ![]()
Today was our # 1 grandson's 3rd birthday party... And the (simultaneous) party for the adults: me, my son, my hubby, my son-in-law and my #2 grandson's. Actually #2 grandson had his party much earlier in the month. All the adults were to have their collective party 3 weekends ago, then 2 weekends ago... "But the best laid plans of mice & men..." (R Browning).
Nevertheless, we had a wonderful day with family. That's what matters most.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
This weekend I had much to smile about.
My hubby gave his boss & our family a scare on Fri. (just about a week after the 1 yr. anniversary of his surgically induced cerebral hemorrhage.) So we dragged him to the hospital ER. Since the drs. there knew him & his history they kept him overnight, and after doing nearly every expensive test they could find, declared him healthy. The whole problem was probably a drug "hangover," as he had started a new medication for sleep. ![]()
Our new dog is getting more and more aclimated to us. ![]()
We got our greatroom painted.
Now we're sprucing up the electrical switches & socket covers as the previous owner painted them to match the wall. ![]()
And we are starting to put a UV film on our sun porch windows. ![]()
We got to see our grandsons. ![]()

Well, we're really excited about our new dog... My hubby discovered today that we're getting a "hybrid" dog called... are you ready for this one? It's called a Shorkie Tzu (Shih Tzu / Yorkie mix). ![]()
Now earlier in my life this dog would not be considered a "designer" dog, or hybrid, if you will. It would be referred to a mixed breed and/or mutt. My how times have changed...
Peace & blessings,
Marge

I'm getting a dog on Sat. It's a rescue, Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier mix. Does that make it a York Tzu? ![]()

I hope this works out for us. She almost sounds too good to be true.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
Lucy made me smile today. Some months ago there was a misunderstanding between us due to a third party. She was sent to my home again today and we talked and cleared things up between us. Both of us were happy and relieved. It was a gift to see her beautiful smile again.
My grandsons always make me smile.
However, my son made me
with his mother's day card...
They say the nut doesn't fall far from the tree...
... That just scares the h*ll out of me.
Too true... too true...
Peace & blessings,
Marge
I am smiling because Bahrat's wife makes him laugh.
A good sense of humor is a wonderful gift to have, and I am glad he appreciates her!![]()
Patricia
My grandsons made me smile... even when I'm tearing my hair out as I care for them.
They are wonderful & "perfect," of course.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
I love this poema nd it made me proud and grateful
John Wayne's America, why I love her
![]()
"America, America,
God shed his grace on thee..."
You ask me Why I Love Her?
Well, give me time and I'll explain.
Have you seen a Kansas sunset
or an Arizona rain?
Have you drifted on a bayou
down Louisiana way?
Have you watched a cold fog drifting
over San Francisco Bay?
Have you heard a bobwhite calling in the Carolina pines,
Or heard the bellow of a diesel at the Appalachia mines?
Does the call of Niagara thrill you when you hear her waters roar?
Do you look with awe and wonder at her Massachusetts shore,
Where men who braved a hard new world first stepped on Plymouth's rock?
And do you think of them when you stroll along a New York City dock?
Have you seen a snowflake drifting in the Rockies, way up high?
Have you seen the sun come blazing down from a bright Nevada sky?
Do you hail to the Columbia as she rushes to the sea,
Or bow your head at Gettysburg at our struggle to be free?
Have you seen the mighty Tetons?
Have you watched an eagle soar?
Have you seen the Mississippi roll along Missouri's shore?
Have you felt a chill at Michigan when on a winter's day
Her waters rage along the shore in thunderous display?
Does the word "Aloha" make you warm?
Do you stare in disbelief
When you see the surf come roaring in at Waimea Reef?
From Alaska's cold to the Everglades, from the Rio Grande to Maine,
My heart cries out, my pulse runs fast at the might of her domain.
You ask me Why I Love Her?
I've a million reasons why:
My beautiful America, beneath God's wide, wide sky.
"And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea."
words by John Mitchum
from the Album & Book:
John Wayne's America, Why I Love Her
Michele,
You never have to apologize here unless you purposely hurt someone... then an apology is required.
We do NOT give people "the boot" unless they are disruptive, mean-spirited, or the like. I don't think anyone like that is apt to join our cheerful little group.
Peace & blessings,
Marge
because this group is still a pleasure to come to,Forgive my long absence and thank you for not giving me the boot!
conversation with a good friend made me smile today....
Peace & blessings,
Marge
