Almost done

Hi Anita, nice to meet you. When I joined Maria was the Host. Tried to Sign this in newly Submitted stories under Animals when I submitted my Bluefin Tuna Petition, but kept getting an ERROR message so thought I'd come here and I found it. Signed but will probably won't get to Confirm Signature till I clean out my E-mails as I have almost 2 thousand to go thru. So much going on in my life right now that I am very behind. Count on me I'll get to it, when I find it. Thank God for that kind family. I can't believe how cruel some people are. Come to think of it. Yes, I can believe it.

Dream within reach to help abused dogs & cats gain dog shelter

Small dog charity Rudozem Street Dog Rescue against all odds, are almost within reach to win Junes Sunsuper Dream of $ 5000.  RSDR need your VOTE to help them renovate before next winters dangerous snow conditions to help the abused dogs & cats in Bulgaria.  With 2 weeks to go, RSDR are now slightly behind the leaders.  Are you able to help achieve the Sunsuper Dream and place your vote?

Background History on RSDR (Rudozem Street Dog Rescue)

In 2007, Diane & Tony Rowles and their 4 children made the move to Bulgaria to have a more peaceful life from the busy lifestyle in the UK.  The Rowles bought a family property in the outskirts of Rudozem.

After living in Bulgaria for a few months, the family saw the plight of the street dogs and started feeding them and patting them.  They were shocked by the locals reactions and abuse towards the street dogs, and saw dogs spat on, kicked or had stones thrown at them.  They continued to feed the dogs on the streets when they could out of their own money.

In September 2007, their youngest son Luke, befriended a street dog named Ranger, and the dog started following him.  Ranger became the families first rescue dog when a man was trying to shoot him. You can read about Rangers story on this link

In following months other  street dogs went home to the Rowles family.

With the continuing number of street dogs needing to be fed on the streets, it was getting harder not to do something, so in March 2009, Rudozem Street Dog Rescue (RSDR) was formed, and officially became a registered foundation.

Adoptions to other countries were then organised to help find homes for the dogs rescued.

Dangerous condition of Roof

In 2010, RSDR managed to purchase a beaten down old building on a block of land but this building is extremely dangerous and needs the roof to be renovated.

$ 5000 would go towards renovating one section of the roof, that is badly needed before next winter.

Just this past winter, the roof was in danger of collapsing due to the heavy snow, and all 130 dogs and cats and humans inside were in danger. Please this money is vital to help getting the roof fixed before the next winter, to ensure their safety.

With a shelter, RSDR eventually can start a spay/neuter programme to reduce the population and save many more animals in Bulgaria on the streets from dying in the winter months.

We are asking if the Care2 community could help this small shelter, and vote for them on Anita's Sunsuper Dream at:
