think they are asking for some type of repercussion - couldn't read the whole petition - too bad for me.
This one really got to me...
Sasha is a 1½ year old American pit bull that has been with Lane County Animal Services since November. What makes her case special is that she is completely deaf. Because she can't hear, animal behavioral specialist Cindy Ehlers has been teaching her
Animal advocates in India ,Humane Society International &FIAPO scored a major success when the Animal Welfare Board of India issued an order directing owners of egg production facilities to immediately discontinue forced molting starvation regimes.

The widespread practice, by local administrations,in dealing with their own incompetence and the pathetic care provided to "pets" by their own citizens, of hiding the problem, just won't go away.
They take the easy path. Kill the victims, hide them away. It is cheaper and less "inconvenient" to the rate payers ( after all re-election is the goal ).
I see it all the time at the totally unfunded cat refuge that I work at.
As for Logan City. They get the "Big Turd Award".
"I have written before that it is a problem created by the citizens of Logan.
Punish those who create the problem, the irresponsible "owners". Enforce strict animal ownership laws and stop punishing the victims.
I am appalled that Logan has this Third World approach of dealing with the issue of abandoned animals.
As for my Alma Mater..I am very, very disappointed."
Thank you everyone - sent green stars to all I could - for the others...
Simon- I agree - Utah seems to have many issues.
this is horrible
A diabetic alert dog named Shots warns the active teen when her blood glucose level is too high or low. "Shots goes everywhere with me, including school, and sleeps in my room at night," she says in an e-mail from her home in Texas. "He saves my life

Earlier this month, CNN's champion for animals, Jane Velez-Mitchell, featured the story of Alice. You may know Alice as "the dog in the box," a pit bull in Toombs County, Georgia, who was found living in squalor in a makeshift box of wood slats and sheet

Thanks again . All signed. A couple of comments:
On using primates for advertizing:
"If you need a fool to promote your business, then you won't find any better than humans. Cease the exploitation of those who have no voice."
On kicking a dog:
"This is no trivial matter. A family dog is a member of the family. How would the employee have been treated if he had kicked a child. The person needs to prosecuted for animal cruelty and dismissed as unfit to interact with households".
On "trophy hunting" :
"There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the concept of "trophy" hunting in the year 2011. At a time when wild animals are fast disappearing, why should people, who obviously have a distorted view of their place in nature, be allowed to execute such magnificent creations. ? "
Thanks for the post!

- it's like we can't win - my opinion only....they should hook them up with people who have lost loved ones as comfort and give tem free dog food. Would save $ on psychiatrists.
Kitten season is fast approaching."The spring is when most litters of kittens are born," says Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies. "Should you come across kittens, you may be tempted to pick them up and bring them home with you, but that might..

He was able to get one of his daughters to safety by dropping her out of a window, but couldn't reach the second child. When firefighters finally got to her, Diamond was laying on top of the girl in an effort to protect her from the flames.

Thanks Val. All done. The last (foxes) failed. Tried 3 times . It came up with "Sorry etc.)
Canada is getting a disproportionate representation in petitions. The "politically correct term for "Third World" countries is now "Emerging Nations". I'll have to come up with the opposite term for Canada, in respect to animal welfare, as it is seems incapable of moving into the present. It would appear that to be a member of the Canadian Government applicants must undergo brain surgery to re-set them to the 18th Century.
Thanks Val once again All signed & noted.
Good one Simon

A happy surprise, and one that dog rescuer Jason Flatt hopes to make common knowledge about the breed. Flatt had rescued the emaciated, deathly-ill Apollo from an Atlanta-area shelter in 2008, one of hundreds of pits he's saved since 2005.
