I soo wish you would stop sending traffic or visit yatoula.com.. The reason being that they are thieves.. They've stolen some 2-300 animations from me alone (those quacking ducks above are mine) and I've written 3 times to them already, without any reply... So many sites on the Internet build collections and draw traffic (they offer the gifs for "free" - without having paid any artist any licenses - and then they make $$ on advertising or collecting member databases..) Yatoula makes revenues from ads, partnerships (they even have a partnership page stating your site needs to have this much traffic to swap links and in exchange for traffic they'll advertise in their newsletter - which, of course has more ads, and so forth...
If you stumble across a site that:
1) Has a lot of *different* animations
2) Has a lot of ads, or ask for your e-mail address to access the gifs
and
3) Has a text that says "These animations are public domain as far as we know. If these gifs are yours, please e-mail us and we'll remove them immediately..."
Then you can bet they have something in there they're not supposed to have! All 3 criteria fits in perfectly on yatoula. So please boycott...
By a lot of *different* animations, I of course mean a lot of animations made by various artists, all lumped together without any links or artists names given credit to.
Camilla, I'm sorry about them stealing your gifs, but I don't think anyone here is "sending" anyone to Yatoula. In fact, I recall sending you a post on CF&S telling you that I found some that "resembled" yours & that you could check it out. If it appears here, it is because it is elsewhere on the internet & listed as public domain. I haven't been to their site nor posted any of their graphics in a very long time that I am aware. I personally likeDIDDL MOUSE& ArtnSkins ~ which I use frequently.
PS: Camilla, if you notice, when I post, I post the homepage graphic which is linked to that page on the post where I collect the image. So all you need to do on my posts are to move the cursor over the homepage name & click. I really don't know how we would know which gifs or jpgs that we fing are an original of yours.
PS: PS: Camilla, can't you set your animations not to be copied & pasted. I find a lot of times a pop-up say something that "that's not allowed," or "these are (c)" etc.
I don't mind anyone at Care2 using my anims in postings. What I mind is Commercial Companies, such as yatoula, using them. Every time someone opens up this page - this very thread - a hit (per anim) is registered on yatoula...buidling their traffic.. So not only the person surfing through their stolen goods and posting the anims here was sending traffic - you Cherish, me, anyone seeing these, are..
Cherish, I don't know why you got upset but by the look of all PS's you seemingly were. All I can say is don't blame an artist for trying to protect their work. If you had an interest in this subject, you would know better than to steal bandwidth - and you would know all my animations have clear copyright notice embedded within the files. As do many artists, you just don't check for it..
the kitty seems to be using the right paw to bat at a mouse. The mouse seems to be at the end of a tether and attached to the frame (of mirror?). YOu can see something just slightly below the upper left corner attached to the frame. When the kitty's paw comes forward, you can see the string/wire/cord flex. When the paw is withdrawn, you can see that attachment return to the start position. I think the left paw is resting on the surface of the mirror.
Well, of course I'm not sure if this is absolutely right -- but that's what I read -- I even cleaned my first
