Lisa A. Hello April 10, 2005 11:05 AM Just wanted to say hello. I just joined the group today. There are alot of great recipes on here and hopefully one day I'll have one to add. [send green star] Michelle P. Me, too... April 11, 2005 10:08 AM
I just joined today, too. I LOVE my crock-pots. I have to admit to owning 5. 3 of the three and a half quart (two old and a new), 1 Crock-ette (which only has the low setting) that is great for cheese fondue, and 1 two quart, which is older but has the removable crock. All except the crock-ette have the glass lids (I really dislike the plastic ones, and I read that they don't cook as well, because the weight of the glass plus the water makes a seal and the plastic ones don't), and they are all from Goodwill. They are all Rival brand, and I will be loyal to them forever. Here is my Rival story: I bought two crock-pots at Goodwill that were about 30 years old, one avacado green and one flaming orange. I flipped them over to check the serial numbers and such, and found that one had the nut on upside-down and a few wires sticking out of it. So I figured that I could fix it, and pulled as hard as I could to get the nut off. When I finally got it off, the bolt that it was attached to sucked inside the crock-pot and nothing I could do would lower it. With the crock loose, I found that the wires were part of the heating element that was wrapped around it. I can't imagine what would've happened had I plugged it in and turned it on. Anyway, I still liked the color (having a slightly retro kitchen) and I found the address for the repair center. I wrote a note stating that I bought it for three dollars at Goodwill, and that I busted it, along with the check. Two weeks later, they sent me a brand new crock-pot! The really strange thing, was that it was the one that I had seen several months earlier on the Rival website, and it matched the contact paper on my shelves and cupboard doors almost exactly! Needless to say, I'm a crock-pot addict.
Hi everyone!!! I learned about your group from the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Forum.
CrockPots (CP's) are great for us because we don't have a lot of energy.
I can wake up, put some things in the CP, rest a bit, put more stuff in, take a nap, add more, rest, nap and still serve my family a delicious & nutricous meal.
After dinner (and a rest) clean up is almost a breeze since there are is only the CP, plates and forks. I just thow them in the dishwasher and I am done.
I have several great recipies but first I want to look to see if anyone has already submitted them.
to all of the new members. Thanks Marion for inviting all of your friends. Marion Is a sweetheart she is a host with me in my other group, without her sometimes I dont know where I would be.
So everyone send Marion a star.
As a few of you know i was diagnosed with diabetes this past month, so some of my favorite foods I am no longer able to eat, but it doesnt mean That I cant share them with you.
I started 2 types of insunlin yesterday so hopefully soon I will get the right dosage and will start feeling a little better.
Hello everyone, thanks for the invite Marion. Between cookies and crock pots it wont be good for the waist line. I have to try everything.

not a problem i decided to invite all my friends because i know when i go to work, i can put food in my crockpot to cook on low heat all day and its ready when i get home.
but i also just started a new dessert thread. that i have been trying these dessert recipes all week. yummmy
I'm Ket, stupid Finn, and I don't have the slightest idea of what a crockpot is... the thingy in the picture looks very much like a normal pan or pot or caserole or what the heck it's called in English... but it has to be something special, otherwise there wouldn't be a whole group for it...
I asked this question in a new thread, because I didn't notice the welcome thread first - sorry
