Dear people of AudibleGAIN, please - again, forgive my brief absence over the summer.  Thank you for hanging in there...

As this is a group *for* the people, I wanted to open a suggestion box/thread for ideas that anyone would like to add to the group.  You may certainly post in this thread, or feel free to email audible.gain@gmail.com with ideas you would like to share.  Additionally, if you are interested in co-hosting the group, there are some spots available...

Looking forward to further discussion in this group...

Would you feel more comfortable if this were a closed group?  We can put this up to a vote if there is some interest or concern.  Many discussions we can have in this forum can be very emotional and intimate - we can certainly change the settings to allow for a more personal and intimate setting so people can feel more comfortable discussing things that may be difficult to communicate...  The internet forum is also handy in allowing us to communicate without allowing our hearing status to affect how we (might allow ourselves to) participate in discussions...  [ send green star]
 
I suggest starting another group for your private closed group September 16, 2005 1:28 PM

     That would allow anyone who wants to come hear

to do so and we all can still go join your new closed group if you invite us to do so or shoose who you wish to be there as well.

     Just a suggestion.

Thanks for you input, Wolfgram.  You have a grand point, and hit the nail on the head.  I started AudibleGAIN for anyone...  However, the discussions have not been ... fluid ... yet.  I worried that perhaps people might not be comfortable discussing some personal things that are open for the world to see.  At least we don't have to put our faces on our avatars, right??

So, dear people of AudibleGAIN - should you like a 'closed' area, I can certainly open a sister site - or if this is not an issue (and I am just a worrywart) then we will merrily keep rolling along...

The only thing that really ever concerns me is those dang Trolls that roll through stirring up discontent. I mean I have no problem speaking my mind in an open forum but have upon occasion been pressed to munched on a Troll from time to time.

From reading another of your posts I see you have some experience with a Troll that hurt your feelings. Either way you want to go is fine with me- We'll just keep an eye out for those Trolls.

Just my two beads worth.
