Hi all. thanks January 16, 2005 4:10 PM

I use to have a pen friend from The Gambia, His name was Mohamed Debassi. (i think i remember the spelling ok).  i lost track of him when i moved and lost his address.

I also met a nice man here from Siera Leone..

I was wanting to know if there is a problem of kidnapping and being sold into slavery in West Africa.  Ive just finished reading a book about a young girl who was kidnapped at age 11 or 12 from Nuba mountains in Sudan.  she only obtained her freedon in 2000.  How much of a problem is this in West Africa if at all.

Welcome January 22, 2005 3:30 PM

Hi and welcome Colleen I don't think there's much of a problem with West Africans sold to slavery in Arab countries - but I'll look into it.  [ send green star]
