Congrats being a Gramma~Daria

Sorry this has to be really quick.  Had to share my news...  I'm a Grandma!  

  It was very scary.  Lucas wasn't breathing when he came into this world.  He had the umbilical cord wrapped tightly around his neck.  It took the doctors a good 5 minutes to get him breathing.  They gave him oxygen the whole time and his little heart never stopped beating. He was rushed to Neonatal ICU.  After a few hours he was able to come off the oxygen.  Thank God all the tests came back good and he's doing well now. 

 He was 7lbs. 12 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long.  Born 12:37 on Thursday June 19th.   Mommy and Daddy did GREAT!

 GREAT graphics and photos ladies!  Love the water strider one, Meralyn!   Thank you for the birthday wishes.  I had a nice day.   Well, we are closing on our house on Monday!!!! Wooo hooo!  I'm so excited!  This is a dream come true for me.  I've never owned a home before.  We are going up to Pa. tomorrow for a week.  Harry and I will get as much work done as possible.  The big move is most likely on June 12th.  We have the apartment for the month so we will be going back and forth a time or two to get the things we don't want to go on the moving truck.  I miss you my friends.  Please know you are being thought about even when I don't get here to post.  Take care and have a great weekend.

  Yes, I had a nice birthday.  Thank you for thinking of me.  Hubby got me a long stem red rose, a beautiful card and we went out to dinner.  We had my daughter's baby shower this past Sunday and everything went great!   All is moving along with the house also.  Our realtor feels we will be closing on June 2nd as planned.  What a busy, exciting time in my life!  I am blessed.  The next few days we will be visiting family and friends.  We're trying to get to see as many as possible before the move.   Meralyn and Nance...beautiful photos and graphics as always.  Your work always makes me smile.    Take care all!  Enjoy the rest of your week.

The above lighthouse is at Cape Arago out past Charleston, west of Coos Bay, Oregon.  It has been abandoned due to erosion that made the bridge that linked it to the mainland dangerous. Rather a shame.

      HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND EVERYONE!

I'm posting this greeting today as I wont be in here tomorrow.  My friend, Harry, and I are going up to Coos Bay and the Indian Casino.  We also hope to go out to Charleston Bay and photograph the light house and tour the beautiful Shore Acres Park.  The rhodies should be blooming now.  That's a red rhodie in the above pic, one of Harry's .

The last flower was a Pacific Silverweed, not a very pretty name for a beautiful little wild flower.  Beautiful graphics and pix girls and thanks.  Take care!

GREETINGS EVERYONE - I hope you all have had a wonderful day.  It was beautiful here, sunny and quite warm after the morning fog burned off.  I wasn't tired enough from fighting insomnia last night so I went out and knocked myself out in the yard!  I've also been supervising the contractor while he put in a new water line for me the last couple of days clear across my driveway and the neighbor ladies!  Whew!

This view greeted me this morning thru my kitchen window, the sun coming up over the hills behind my old crabapple tree. I wore myself out on a hike yesterday with my friend, got to feeling better so took advantage of it!    My pix from yesterday didn't turn out all that well even though we saw ospreys on their nest way across the river, mergansers saddly without their nests, the high river from all the rain washed them away, a goose, mallards, and an otter swimming by them upsetting them!  Gorgeous day, fantastic outing, I loved it!

 It's a pretty day here.  A little on the cool side but still nice.

  Meralyn, I've never seen a redwood in real life but with your photo it sure makes it seem like I'm standing right under them. They are majestic!

 Nance, love the tulips.  I have a couple popping up.  I hope these past couple of cold nights don't hurt them. 

 I've been working on baby shower stuff and spent LOTS of time on the phone yesterday catching up with family and friends.  Harry and I also watched a movie.. Martian Child.  It was good.

 Today I'm going out to look for the perfect wrapping paper for the shower gifts.   More crocheting is on the agenda also.   Take care and have a good day everyone!

GOOD DAY EVERYONE - Try to ignore the fact that its Monday and that you might be worn out from the weekend!  I am!  Whew, went on a walk & hike yesterday, photographed a pair of Ospreys and a few wildflowers, which I'll share with you later.  Also saw the horrible destruction from this past winter's storms in an Old Growth Park, WOW!  Unbelievable!  I didn't shoot any of the trees there so pulled up this old one of redwoods from my file to show you the awesome size & beauty of the redwoods and gigantic firs here.  Its a little long, hope it works?! I think I've posted this one some time back.

Daria - your photography is lovely, dont put it down!  And I absolutely hate reading manuals too!  Still havn't read all the "stuff" about my new camera, groan!  Have a good time, too. Nance your graphics are lovely, too. Have a good day everyone and take care!

   Absolutely gorgeous flower, Meralyn.  The above photo is one I took in Florida. Hibiscus' are so beautiful...aren't they?   I'm not a photographer like you Meralyn. lol  I love taking photos but I just point and shoot.  My kids got me a new camera for Christmas.  A Canon Powershot XS100.  One of these days I'll figure out all the features it has.  lol  I hate reading the manuals.   

 Nance, you make such great graphics.  Always enjoy seeing what you have done.

 Hello Friends!

   No...not house hunting. We put a deposit on a house in Pennsylvania before going away. Still waiting to here on it. We went to Florida to visit Harry's sister and our Care2 "adopted daughter" and her girls.  Tkay ended up in the hospital so we were watching the girls for her for 11 days.   She got out of the hospital on Wednesday so we are now at Harry's sister's home taking a couple days to relax before the long drive home.   I'll be home next week, but there is so much to do there with the upcoming baby shower for my daughter and the house stuff I will not have much time to get to Care 2.  I will be stepping down as host here, so if anyone wants to take the group over please contact Care2 as there is no owner for this group.  I am cutting way back on groups and co-hosting duties as I can not devote the proper time to it.   Nance and Meralyn thank you so much for all you do here.  ((((Big hugs)))) to both of you.    I must go for now.  Take care.  I'll be in touch when I can.
