Obama Boots Pastor From Inauguration For Holding Biblical Values

(AP) The evangelical pastor chosen to give the benediction at President Barack Obama's inauguration withdrew from the ceremony Thursday after remarks surfaced that he made two decades ago condemning the [so-called] gay rights movement.

Just another show of proof he is the Muslim he is!!! promote the Muslim agenda and silence the Christian one!! Who ever voted him in or voted for someone else...they OWN this monster!!

I totally agree with that Ivonne!   Yet, if I had been that pastor, I would have had to decline in light of knowing those things about Obama.

Since when does being pro-Muslim equal being pro-Gay?  Don't be ignorant.  They don't have anything to do with each other.

His statements were his feelings and opinions. Yet, he urged his congregants to welcome gays and lesbians into the church.

Then, you get this stuff about diversity:

"We were not aware of Pastor Giglio's past comments at the time of his selection and they don't reflect our desire to celebrate the strength and diversity of our country at this inaugural," Whisenant said in a statement.

Pastor Giglio also said something in there about people having the rights to or respecting differing opinions even so. So, he welcomes gays and lesbians into the church, having differing opinions than his, accepting diversity in his church, but they infer that they want to celebrate the strength and diversity of our country, and I tell ya, he was right to step down, as it's plain they don't accept his being able to be diverse.

Might as well condemn the black rights movement.  I don't accept that kind of "diversity."  I don't have to share a Big Tent with bigots, even bigots who say it's ok for the darkies to come to Church.  But of course the darkies are lesser in the eyes of God, or whatever the bigot excuse of the day is.  Just someone's "opinion," their "diversity" ....

The kind of diversity I do accept, is that the Nazis have the right to march in Skokie.  I don't find Nazis socially acceptable.  If someone gave the Nazis the boot from a Presidential function, I wouldn't think even once about it.  But they do have the right to make their views known in this country, somewhere, sometime.  The only reason I protect their rights is so that *I* can speak as well.  Who knows when I'll be the one wiht the unpopular opinon?

I am sorry, I am missing the point here somewhere, where this discussion got turned around to diversity. It is simply the fact the president chose a non-christian minister  forthe inaguration...once more confirming  his non-faith as a christiaan. At least all of the other presidents whether pretending to be one or not, never even consider to be inagurated by any other but a christian minister.

He shows it all the time Ivonne. It was their statement of celebrating the strength and diversity of our country. -Not when they  got up in arms about Giglio having an opinion.

I went back to the original article.  I didn't see anything about Obama picking a non-Christian pastor for the inauguration.  To me, that would imply that he picked a Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or Shinto "pastor" or some such.  Picking a Christian who holds different views about gays doesn't make them non-Christian.  And if you really believe that's a bright dividing line, you need to look back to the Reformation, to the history of wars between Catholics and Protestants.  Which ultimately by several generations results in the founding of this country, partly to escape religious persecution in Europe.

The "Neutering of the White Male" video is an interesting perspective.
