Peace and the survival of life on earth as we know it are threatened by human activities that lack a commitment to humanitarian values. Destruction of nature and natural resources results from ignorance, greed and lack of respect for the earth´s living things.

Happy Valentine's Day to Everybody!!!!!!! Michela

Happy Valentines Day Michela :-)
Oct. 2010 The Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior's 'tour' of Indonesia: started with high hopes that our peaceful campaigning ship would be able to support the Indonesian president's stated aims of ending Deforestation in Indonesia. But It ended with the Rainbow Warrior being denied vital supplies & being ordered – & escorted – out of Indonesian waters & well into international waters by 2 navy vessels, in breach of international maritime law.
News: Indonesia Using $1 Billion in Forest Protection Funds to Cut Down Forests?Nov. 2010 Norway agreed to send $1Billion to Indonesia if the nation would put a moratorium on logging its natural Forests & Peat lands & replant degraded areas. This would reduce carbon emissions by millions of Tons & prevent widespread Habitat Loss. Indonesia accepted & the details were to be finalized at the Climate Summit in Cancun. But Indonesian Politicians & major Timber & PalmOil companies appear to be gaming the agreement. They plan on declaring millions of hectares of perfectly good Forest 'degraded' so they can cut it down & replant it to harvest Palm Oil & still collect the cool billion Indonesian industry would essentially be using funds intended to protect the nation's Forests to instead chop them down. Greenpeace reveals that Indonesia has concrete plans to expand its destructive PalmOil industry twofold, & "to triple its Pulp&Paper production by 2025", cutting down vast expanses of its Forest.
Peat Forest leveled for PalmOil in Riau, Indonesia

Local people should be educated and honestly informed of what is at stake. When they realise they have contributed to the destruction of unique rainforests, impossible to replace, and unique species, it will be too late. How can other people (Norway in this case) be so greedy as to contribute to such an incredible disaster??? They simply have no respect for life - I mean that of the forests, the species living there and, in the long run, theirs, as they contribute actively to global warming. The balance of all the elements allowing life on earth is fragile. WQhen it's destroyed, it won't be possible to replace it. The earth will be a new Mars. And I'm not joking.
Is that what we want for our children?
Petition signed. Thank You Michela. I would not like my pension fund invested in destruction of rainforests, killing of wild animals, or invested in palm oil, or TSH. Norway is doing an about face with that billion dollars given to Indonesia to put a moratorium on logging it's natural Forests and Peatlands and replant degraded areas. Red lights go off in my mind when they turn Rainbow Warrior of Greenpeace away escorted by two naval ships. The President is not very wise to keep this destruction up, as soon there will be next to nothing left. Greed!!! Only found in humans!!!

News: Norway Cuts Palm Oil Consumption 64% in One Year http://www.care2.com/greenliving/norway-cuts-palm-oil-consumption-64-in-one-year.html An Example for the Whole World!! As the Destruction of Rainforests accounts for one fifth of Global Emissions of Greenhouse Gasses, growing PalmOil in the way that the biggest producers of it grow it right now –Indonesia&Malaysia– has huge social & environmental costs. That’s why I was so pleased to read that a campaign led by Rainforest Foundation Norway has led to a massive reduction in PalmOil consumption in the Scandinavian Country. It’s an initiative that should be imitated around the world!

News: As Norway funds Rainforest conservation, its pension fund invests in Companies driving Deforestation
March 30, 2012 – “While the Norwegian Government is using a finger to save Rainforest, it uses a fist to destroy it.” Norway, at the same time that it is committing hundreds of millions of dollars a year to Rainforests Protection, is investing more than 13 Billion dollars/year via its pension fund in dozens of Companies linked to Deforestation. This political incoherence is documented in the report “Beauty and the Beast - Norway’s investments in rainforest protection and rainforest destruction”, by Rainforest Foundation Norway & Friends of the Earth Norway
The report finds that Norway's Government Pension Fund Global has stakes in Companies operating in the Palm Oil, Oil&Gas, Mining, Beef, Logging, Pulp&Paper, Soy & Hydroelectric energy sectors in key tropical forest countries. The investments dwarf the $500 million or so the Norwegian government commits annually toward reducing deforestation & forest degradation.
“While Norway has become internationally famous for its initiative towards Rainforest Protection, the truth is that the same Government invests far more money in some of the worst industries on Earth, responsible for massive Rainforest Destruction,” stated Lars Løvold, director of Rainforest Foundation Norway.
Norway: spending far more on Rainforest Destruction than Rainforest protection
The Norwegian government keeps increasing its investments in industries widely known to be key forces behind Rainforest Destruction. At the same time as spending an annual 500 million USD & huge political capital on Rainforest Protection, Norway invests some 13,7 Billion dollars in industries destroying it.
1) Pet.: NORWAY: STOP investing in Rainforest Destruction. It’s home to Orangutans and other animals
PT Munte Waniq Jaya Perkasa is currently bulldozing Forests around Muara Tae in Eastern Borneo to establish an Oil Palm Plantation. The company is owned by Malaysia-based TSH Resources.
The Norwegian Government has a 1.8% stake in TSH Resources. SHAME ON THEM BOTH!!
Do you and you Government want to be linked to Rainforest destruction and mass killing of wild animals? No? Withdraw your Country's pension fund investment in TSH and other Palm Oil Companies!

Norway profits financially from the Destruction of the Orangutans Habitat & the Killing of Endangered Species while deceiving the public into thinking it is helping save Rainforests!! SHAME ON THEM
