My next test is Wednesday October 10, 2009 5:51 AM
I haven't studied for it yet, but it will be John 9 and 10. Third time in a row I got 7 out of 10 right. BUT, I got the first part of the 3 part question right on number 10. I can't believe I even remembered the first part.
The Pastor is our Bible study leader, and he makes the easiest questions for us, but he said if we don't get number 10 right, we should throw ourselves on the floor and pray. Woe is me. I asked how I can throw half of me there as I got the first part right.
How many books are in the bible. Got this right. 66
Got both of these wrong.
How many in the old testament?
How many in the new?
Now, I asked someone else who has been studying the bible pretty good, and she gave the same answer to me as I wrote down. She went to another church that night to see TJ Jakes.
Shoot, I'm stumped on that one, Donna without looking. I almost said 33 in O.T. and 33 in N.T. but that is not right for sure. Let me guess.....46 in the O.T. and 20 in N.T.?
I wish you the best when you take your test again.
LOL Well, I knew there were 66 books in the whole Bible. Didn't have a clue how many in each testament. I guess I won't bother trying to remember that exactly. LOL, I CAN find almost any book you name with in a minute. AND I can tell you whether any specific book is in which testament.....
Well, I am not going tonight or I would tell him that the one question he thought was the easiest in the world was NOT. I didn't meet anyone who knew the answer.
I have to go and put my foot up. I fell down a step hitting my lower back first, skidding into a blanket with my little plate of Pukka's pork chop pies flew across the room, while my right foot went under and got sprained as I also knocked his water bowl over and went back down on the middle of my back into the step, almost knocking myself out, but I couldn't, as I had the stove on frying Jimmy's dinner on medium to high/ He came in 5 minutes after I got myself up to go back into the kitchen. It is one step down, and a wooden step is very wide, but I slid off of it with my flip flops.
Oh Donna how awful for you....how is your ankle and back doing? I am so glad you didn't get knocked out or your house may have gone up in flames from the food cooking on the stove. You have a cat named, Pukka? LOL The real Pukka is in one of my groups.
I am just now seeing this. I over looked it. That would not have happened if we still had the tracking system.
It is over 2 weeks now, and my foot is still swollen and a little colorful, but I got up and walked the day after I was prayed for. It is a miracle too that I was not knocked out, and never hit my head.
The Pastor was there tonight. I don't know what happened to the womens bible study. Shirley might have been sick. So, we had a test from 2 weeks ago On John chapters 12 and 13. I failed miserable as there were no multiple choices. I did read those verses a couple of weeks ago.
Now, the books of the bible were in the test, so I figured I had it made. Since I got them wrong before, I remembered the 27 and 39. HOWEVER, I got it backward.
The Pastor went to some kind of a party at work, and they were going to throw away all the rest of the good food, and he brought it back for us. Cheese steaks, and string beans, Pasta salad and garden salad. It was fantastic. I said the heck with running out to make it here in time for my show, but I actually ate, and fixed Jimmy a platter, and came home, and had time to put on my night gown to watch the show.
Donna, I don't know if you remember that we used to have bible study on thursdays, held in a different house every week? Well, at those studies we always had dinner, either at the end or the beginning, but it was a great opportunity to actually have communion among us. There is something about food that unites people and makes them bond better! I'm sure you had a good time during the meal.
As the say goes, Families that eat together stay together, or wait, families that pray together, and eat together stay together. Food is comforting, and nurturing, sort of like our Father in Heaven !
You hear people say, that the first thing they do when they go out as missionaries, is to feed the people first, and then minister to them, as a hungry stomach is pretty hard to preach to.
I don't think anybody there last night had a hungry stomach though, but after a couple of hours it has a chance to make it's self available for food.
I think one of the things we do best over food is fellowship. Church meals are always fun I think. you get to gab with everyone and lots of times you end up sitting close to someone you don't know very well and the conversation just develops. You know you say, "Who made this lucious... meat loaf, swiss steak, fried chicken or whatever" and the stranger person says, "Oh I know isn't it good!" And pretty soon you are comparing notes on which thing tastes the best and what the recipe is for her cherry cheese cake!
It is easy to talk to people while you have a plate full of lasagna or a pile of scalloped potatoes with him sitting in front of you. And by the time I get to the inevitable gooey chocolate cake and cherry pie...well, I'm positively mellow and can talk to the nastiest old crab in the church! LOL
I'm glad your foot is doing better Donna. Personally, I stopped getting those messages telling me about posts in my groups. Way too much email for me so I fixed it where I no longer received them. I just go to my groups and check for new posts but lo and behold I still have lots of email anyway. LOL
I love to fellowship over food....especially when you talk to someone that has a mouthful and doesn't mind showing it.
I love crab ANYTHING and brownies, too! Shrimp cocktail anyone?

Oh I love shrimp cocktail. .................. I like plenty of horse radish in the sauce too.
Oh I don't know about talking to someone who eats with their mouth open. When we had the food, the bible study was over, and it was in the kitchen. I was too busy eating to even think about talking.
Ooooooh Yes! Shrimp cocktail! Love it. In fact forget the cocktail part, just give me the peel and eat kind!
LOL Look at this. I just unpinned the potluck dinner thread so we just moved it to the test thread. Hee, hee. I know why too. Eating always helps study go better. When I was in college. We never started to study without coke or coffee and crackers or chips or lollipops. Something about food and brain cells.
