LOLOld age is getting to me.Wow.You all jumped on here and posted up a storm yesterday after I was here.I hung a little window up in the corner of the screen while I was reading the posts so I could remember what I was going to comment on.Mercy! age has its drawbacks.Hmmmm of course I was equally forgetful when I was younger too wonder what I could blame that on hmmm.
Oh well,
Yes, the dogs were so comical. The little dogs caught on much quicker that the big ones though. Ive talked a lot about how smart Maxim is, but he still went to the den door this morning. The little ones high tailed it straight to the right one
R & M made it home safely with reports of a lovely wedding. Everyone was tired this morning. Rachael had to drive to Bellefountaine this morning. She had to be there at six AM. That meant an hour and a half drive to get there. Damaris, don't ever complain about having to take Alex to work the next rainy morning! Think about Rachael and her FOUR THIRTY departure time. It will make you count your blessings. lol. I woke up without even an alarm clock in time to start her coffee and wish her good bye. I fixed Michael's lunch and made sure the coffee pot times was set. I left him a breakfast strudel in the toaster and went back and sat down to watch Mike and Mike. But they didn't come on for an hour! I think I dozed off a bit but woke up several times before Michael went to work.
Then Notah called on his wat to work and my day ws off to a wonderful start. You all who have Mamas--even if you cant get home to see them, take time to call them. They love to hear your voice. Take it from me!
Okay that's enough
Love you all .. Oh yes, Damaris, thank you for calling us all beautiful!I love it!
Sheila, yes, your concerns are not silly at all. All the opposite, I find you a very brave and determined woman, who strugles one day at a time and who does recognize her strenght is not from her, but from God. What a beautiful role model! You are a blessing with your contributions for the Group. We (all of us here) should bring you before God. I'll do my part, count on that.
Vondi, I hope R&M had a great weekend away. And you were in charge of all the animals in the house? I bet they kept you busy busy busy. I can see them with the confused look in their eyes:
"Let's go outside, yes. Hey lady, what are you doing in that door?, It's through this door. Lady, don't you get it? Come, open this door. Lady, you are confused...!"
My Matt gets the face to the side when he can't fully understand something... It's funny. I'm pretty sure they do it too, don't they?
Vicky!!!! Hope you are doing all right. Yes, you mail whatever yummy things you have.... lol. Tomorrow is Monday again.... To you, and to the rest of the group members who have to work tomorrow:
Your concerns are not silly at all, Sheila but I'm glad you placed them at the Lord's feet. He will handle the situation in His way and time and that is good to know. In the meantime I will keep you in prayer my friend.
Evening Salutations, dear Vicki... November 29, 2009 8:32 PM
Thankyou for thinking of me & my silly concerns etc... I've again just dumped it all in our Lord's lap & that's that !
My days go farely quick, thankyou Lord, still get letters on Alcohol Health Afflictions & grief @ loosing loved one's... I figure Christ must want me in His plan, so, as long as I can handle one day at a time - for HIM I'll do anything... right ? Yup, I do miss my precious ones greatly... Especially my Mom, as I know she would still be my best-friend, especially through this... But at least they're all safe & secure, at HIS feet !
Blessings Vicki & again, many thanks for your thoughtfulness...
Hello Sheila, Vondi, CC, Damaris, Linda, Kathryn, and Donna Belle.
Sheila, so good to see you and I am so sorry that you are having trouble with your neighbors and also for the sadness you are experiencing due to the loss of Gary and your parents 3 years ago. Vondi's scripture is very soothing indeed. What do you do in your spare time? Perhaps if you stay busy you won't be as depressed or sad, or at least you won't think of it as much...I will pray for you.
Vondi, that is so funny about the dogs trying to figure out which door your voice is coming from. Poor babies. I would think you can freeze pumpkin or pecan pie if it is only a day old. The picture of that turkey looks sooo good! That is so sad about the way the parents/grandparents are treating your neighbors. Some people are just so negative and crochety, especially during the holidays. It was very nice that you took Josh in to share a meal with.
Damaris, I hope you and your family are safe and maybe for Christmas Vondi and I can mail you some of our 'cookings'. I'd love to try some of yours, too!
How are you doing CC? It is good to see you again.
Thankyou for this beautiful photo & perfect wording... I just happened upon it, as its nearing the end of the day & was exactly what I needed. Having continued problems with one of our neighbours here & so for the last 2 days, I've been down-in-the-dumps... This is my 3rd Christmas without Gary, nor my Mom or Dad & it feels like each one gets worse with time... & therefore I'm taking this intrusion harder than before...!
But, saw your posting & was soothed... very soothed indeed !
God is so good. I have to think of that this evening as sunday draws to a close. Let's take a minute to thank Him. May He bless each of you with his Peace tonight.
Isn't this pretty? I'm sitting here imagining what Jeanne's wedding will be like. That's where Rachael and Michael have gone today and tomorrow. Actually they left last night fir Pittsburg Pennsylvania. I'm pretending to be a grown-up for the weekend! LOL
The dogs are taking their protection duties very seriously. They didn't go to sleep last night until probably one o'clock. Every single little noise from outside provoked a frenzy of barking and fierce defense attitudes. Thank goodness this is a secure neighborhood or I would have been very worried.
Actually we are doing well. I decided to go for a break this morning and have a couple fried eggs instead of turkey. I DID have cranberry salad though. Couldn't pass that up. I am through with the dressing though. I just can't keep eating that. It tastes good but it is almost pure carbs-98% bread infact. LOL I had a piece of pumpkin pie lst night and the pecans off the top of a piece of pecan pie. The dogs got the rest of the pecan pie. They loved it. They thought it was their birthday! (Has anyone ever frozen pumpkin pie or pecan pie? I am afraid it is going to sour before R&M get back...)
I'm keeping close tabs on my blood glucose though and it is remaining around 100. For those of you who don't know about those things--that's good. "Normal' is between 80 and 100, usually in the 90's I believe. so I'm pleased.
Michael and Rachael changed the dining room to the end of the den. and now we are using the other set of doors to the deck as the 'going outside' door for the dogs. LOL they are soooo confused. It took Sebastian a long time to figure out where I was calling from this morning. He was in by the den door and kept running back and forth while I called him.
I like this door. Michael moved a chair there so I can sit with my feet up and read while I wait for the dogs to do their thing.
Have a good day everyone!

Vondi, thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving dinner with us. I enjoyed reading it so much. I'm happy for Josh, that he spent the time with you guys. You are so nice and loving, that I'm sure he forgot about his trouble and enjoyed dinner with you. I'm sure he felt a lot better after having a beautiful thanksgiving from you guys.
Donna-belle, Vicky??? What about you ladies??/
CC, It's great to see you around!! Hope your Thanksgiving gathering was blessed too.
Yesterday I was very late today I'm very early. It's a little after six AM here. Rachael just left for work and I set up the coffee pot so Michael will have some when he gets up to go to work too. Now I can sit down and baby my knees for a while from over doing them yesterday.
I have to thank the Lord though that they have improved since I've been here with R & M. Eliminating all the stress I put on them while I was working and living alone has done wonders. And also not going out in the cold and damp every day helps tremendously.
It is cold and snowy here today--not real snowy but flurries. Rachael put the big dogs out this morning and came back to say there were flakes fluttering around. Brrr.
All of the turkey is pulled off the bones and in the fridge. There is just a dab of noodles left. All the mashed potatoes are gone and almost all the corn. There's a dish of dressing left and lots of cranberry salad. We never even touched the pies- not cuz we didn't like it but just cuz we didnt' have any room left. Rachael, Michael and I are not used to big carb-heavy meals any more. Since Doctor Nicholson put me on this eating regimen, we have all dropped the potatoes and breads and pastas from our menues. We were all full, full ,full!
We had the neighbor kid over for dinner. His maternal grandfather has cancer and they moved the grandparents in to live with them, but they appear to be very critical people. They were complaining that Josh and his dad are lazy and never do anything. and saying other negative things about them. What nasty people to act like that on Thanksgiving! Josh got mad and walked out. His dad left the room or ignored them or something...
Keep in mind that Josh is going to school every day (I guess they think he should be going at 800 Am till 500 instead of afternoons and evenings..) Barry, his dad, has a full time job and a broken foot!! Granted, he doesn't do much right now when he gets home, but for petes sake give the guy a break! he was even nice enough to take them to a restaurant for dinner after that! (Deb had to work. She's a nurnse. Maybe the parents were mad cuz of that. I dunno. )
Anyway, Michael invited Josh over for dinner with us. We enjoyed him and he saved us from having a LOT more left overs that we would have had otherwise. Good man!
Well, all of you have a happy day after Thanksgiving and I'll be around.
I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome and that you gathered with your friends and family to enjoy the love you share. We haven't eaten yet because Rachael just got home. I have the turkey in the oven and the dressing is all done. so is the cranberry salad.
i just wanted to stop and tell EVERYONE how thankful I am for you each one. I've known some of you-- Donna-elle and Vicky --for a long long time; others of you I haven't know quite so long. And some of you are brand new. But you've each come to be real friends.
Damaris and Ildi, I wish we could share all our good eats with you. I know you have good things where you live, but it's not so much the food as it is the sharing.. Maybe some day....
WHOA1 I'm really late today. I was busy all day. I did the bread for the dressing this morning and Rachael and I worked on the cranberry salad today... well, she worked and I gave directions. lol Our cranberry salad is scrumptious.
I pulled this pic off the web, but it looks just like ours. Rachael puts raspberry Jello in it but the cranberries and oranges and nuts are sooo good. I never put the marshmallows in, but she has a sweet tooth.
Tomorrow I'll make the dressing.
So. early morning I will put together the ingredients for the dressing and I'll have to bake it then because there won't be room for it and the turkey both in the oven. About four oclock I'll put the turkey in so it will be pretty well done by the time Rachael gets home at 6:30--did I tell you she has to WORK.
Then when she gets home Rach will cook the potatoes, make the noodles and cook the veggies. Ooooooh I see my carbs piling up right now! That's okay though. My glucose numbers are always good and I continue to lose weight. THAT is the amazing part. lol One day with mashed potatoes and dressing will not kill me. I'll live on celery all day until I get the goodies at seven!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Damaris, even if you don't have THanksgiving in Mexico, have a great day too.
Hi Damaris!!! Feel free to visit and eat at my house any time you like or in the area. I would love to have you.
Sometimes when you click 'close' on a tab you can hurry and hit the 'back' key and sometimes your post will still be there....unfortunately sometimes not. I've lost many.
Mmmmmmmh! Vicky, I bet it tastes delicious....!!!! Send a slice over here please...... mmmmmh! CONGRATS ON YOUR FIRST HOMEMADE PIE!!!
Yes, I think everybody is busy-busy in the kitchen by now..... I wish I could visit each of your houses and have a little bite of EVERY SINGLE THING....! lol
Linda, I love the Cracker Barrel, as a matter of fact you just reminded me of it, and I think I'll cross the bridge just to have lunch over there. I'll be picking Seth from school today, in about an hour, it'll be fun to have lunch there. I love the cozy atmosphere there. I wish you a beautiful time with your friends.
Vondi, I thought Nick was restricted from contact because of the swine flu, but now I see there are major concerns about his health than the flu.
I had a decent, well elaborated post, but I accidentally closed the tab and it disappeared, .
I know God doesn't want us to be proud but I just had to brag on my very first ever homemade pie. LOL Well the crust is premade but the Lemon filling and meringue is mine and it was so simple. How is everyone doing today? It appears slow so I guess many are cooking and making preparations for the Thanksgiving holiday (if they celebrate it). Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Hello Linda, Vondi, Damaris, Kathryn, Donna Belle and anybody else who comes in.
Linda, that is nice that you and friends get to meet and dine on Thanksgiving and that is become like a yearly ritual. Family and friendships at holidays are special times to share and if it is impossible to be with family then friends are the next best thing. In fact they probably seem like family now anyway.
Vondi, I am so sorry about Nick and his health issues. Will he be susceptible to infections and things all of his life? Poor child.....he is in my prayers. I know you will miss seeing him and the others around the holidays.
Damaris, that is good that the family tradition is still strong in Mexico. I talk to so many here that still has get togethers but not like it used to be. What a good idea to take your tithe money first and then pay bills with the rest. I have never done that or even thought to but I see that it would bring blessings to do it that way.
Hello to Kathryn and Donna Belle....I hope everything is working for the good for both of you. How is your foot/ankle, Donna?
Good evening everyone. Had a long day at work today. Everyone's been busy setting stuff up for the day after Thanksgiving. Everything has to be ready to go by closing on wednesday. Thankfully I don't have to close. Thanksgiving I will be getting together with a couple friends. We are planning on going to a restaurant called The Cracker Barrel around 2pm. None of us have any family close by so we've been getting together and going out for Thanksgiving the past several years now. It will probably be sometime next week before I'm able to visit the group again so I will wish all a blessed Thanksgiving.
Oh Hey!Everybody go check out Pastor Jimmys Bible Study Thread.
Help out with the discussion to help Donna when she goes back to her bible study. We are looking at the 19th and 20th chapters of John,Jesus crucifixion
Hi all! Is this cute or what! I picked it because Damaris asked about Nic and the flu. He had swine flu! (LOL Okay, I have a weird sense of humor!)
Nic's illness was complicated by the fact that his respiratory system is compromised because he was premature when he was born. Or maybe it was fortunate that he had a weak system because the doctor said that if they hadn't already been monitoring him for an ear infection and upper respiratory they would never have caught the swine flu in time to save him. He was in the hospital almost a week. on oxygen and an antibiotic IV drip and a bunch of other stuff.
He has been on restricted contact outside the home since school started. Now he is on NO contact. They can't take him to church. He can't go to school. He can't go visit grandma. And he can't come see Granny Vondi!!! Not because he will infect anyone but because he is so susceptible to respiratory infections. The doctor is afraid he will get pneumonia or some passing germ that doesn't bother anyone else but will kill him. She said they had about exhausted all the treatment alternatives. They were talking about putting a port in one of the big veins in his chest because his blood veins whee they put the IV's are all collapsing due to the fact he has been on IV's so many times. Poor baby. Well he's not a baby any more. He is going on seven and he is beginning to realize how restricted his world and life is...
I understand entirely about living at home until kids go away to college. I did that and my children did the same. Of course they weren't either one interested in sleeping around or wild parties or running around. It pays a lot to raise children in the nurture of the Lord. And really neither of them moved that far away until Notah and Kerra moved to NM. both were close enough that an hour and a half or at most two hour drive brought them home to me! I DO miss having Christmas and Thanksgiving with them all though.
Kat, keep us posted on the job situation.
Keep praying for Donna-belle and Jimmy and their finances too. That weighs on my heart.
Vicky, it is good to see you more regularly... I know everybody doesn't have my take-it-easy kind of lifestyle, but I look forward to seeing ALL of your names from time to time.
Kat, that is so big news!!!, and it seems like we are being blessed at the same time because after serving four to six patients per day, I brought 8 samples from just one office today! There are 4 in another one and 4 in the main office, so, God is just blessing us both! He is faithful you see. I had always been taught that one must separate tithe first, and then divide the rest among all the bills and payments, etc., and I thought this was common teaching. We always do it like that, first tithe, then the priority expenses, and the less important ones at the end.
Vicky, well, here in Mexico we still have big family gatherings. We usually don't leave our parents house when we go to college, we usually leave until we marry, hehe. And in general we tend to stay in the same city or state, so no problem to get together. Of course, there are people who move, etc. , but I would say the majority of the people still stay close to the family yet.
Vondi, I wish you three a beautiful thanksgiving dinner. I'm sorry to hear your usual guests won't be able to be with you. And about the little one with the flu. Until spring??? That seems an excessive measure to me...He will miss all the fun, thanksgiving, christmas, new year,....
When we were honeymooning in Florida, 6 years ago, there was a thanksgiving dinner held at the hotel, but we were required to dress pretty fancy, like for a ball or something in that level, so we missed it. We had Bennigans "to go" (because they closed early) instead...lol.
VIcky, Kat, Linda, Screamingbelle, and everyone else. How will you spend thanksgiving?
Kathryn! So glad you checked in...I was concerned about you. Praise God for the library so that you can stay in touch via their computer and for the jobs (no matter how small) that are coming your way. I'm glad you all are able to start paying your bills again and I know how happy you are about that too!
Damaris and Vondi how are you both? Is it me or does it seem like families aren't as close as they once were? I don't mean any particular family and not because they don't love each other but in the 'old' days it seems there were more gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Today it seems that families live so far apart and unfortunately don't always get to visit during the holidays.
Oh Kathryn! That is wonderful news. I'm so glad you are getting jobs. I'm happy you are able to use the library computer to post to us. Hopefully before long things will be back on track again.
Oh yes, Vicky ws just asking me in an email this morning about you.. Send her a personal message just in case she doesn't check back here. that would put her mind at rest.
Hello dear friends. I'm at our local library using their computer since my internet did get cut off last Friday. It happens. But I do have some good news though. Praise God, we are beginning to see light at the end of this very long tunnel. We are getting calls for work. It's small jobs, but it's work and money. We just might get enough this week to make our truck payment that is 3 months behind now. So, I'm praising God right now. We have had enough money to buy groceries and tithe. Actually I heard a preacher this morning that told me that we have to give to God first and then the bills afterwards. Makes sense to me. We have to give blessings to HIM in order to be Blessed. Just thought I'd pass that along. Well dear friends, I have other groups to check in really quick. I pray everyone has a truly blessed Thanksgiving. Everyday is Thanksgiving. Love ya'll dearly, Kathryn
[send green star]
Oh BTW! Here you all go! Here is your personal invitation:
If you are EVER in Columbus, Ohio. CALL ME! EMAIL ME! Or stand on the courthouse steps and yell for me! But somehow find a way to let me know you are here....
We'll have dinner or maybe just spend the afternoon gabbing. Whatever works.
Mmmm. It's getting on toward NOON. Anybody need a pick me up? That is for YOU.
LOL I've got my old standby!
What a treat! Rachael is home today again. This is nice. She was off Friday, worked early saturday, closed sunday and is closing again today... The bad thing is that she has to work on thanksgiving day- nine to five! Rats. We hve it pretty well planned though. She and I will prepare tomorrow and wednesday... Then on thursday I'll just put the turkey in about three and when she comes home we will be ready!
We wuill be just te three of us this year. Usually Dianne and Kris come but this year Nic had swine flue and the doctor has restricted him to home until spring! So they won't be here. Michael's mom and dad are going to be having Thanksgiving at their plce, but since Rach had to work she and Michael won't go. Of course Notah and his family ae 2000+/-miles away.
Oh well. Life will go on. Do you do anything non-traditional for thanksgiving? Everybody has their own traditions but lots of times they are different from the story book variety.
Hello everyone! Sorry I was out for the weekend, but usually weekends are our busiest days for us. Between church work and service, theology uni, family, groceries, etc., friday, saturday and sunday are full of things to do, away from the computer.
Thanks Linda and Vicky, for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. It's a blessing to have friends like you all, in this group. To know that someone else is talking to the Lord about me, it's, well, a wonderfully encouraging thing.
Vicky, Alex had to travel from work to Ohio, and I went with him. We stayed there for 3 days, and we arranged to meet with Vondi in our last night. I really never imagined I would be meeting Vondi here on earth (I was waiting to meet her up in heaven, as I'm waiting to meet the rest of you there), so I thank God for giving me the chance.
And Vicky, do you work more too during the holidays, as Linda? I'll pray that you two do well in this season, and don't get too tired, and just do what you have to do and please God. Thanks God for our jobs.
Vondi, Kat, Ildi, CS, Donna-belle, Donna M, Sheila, Jennifer, and everyone else,
Wishing all you a beautiful and rested night! *paceful dreams*
Wow, I just read down throughout the posts and realized I was seeing a picture of Vondi with Damaris and Alex! How cool that you all got to meet each other. Damaris, how did you come by being in the same neck of the woods where Vondi lives? How long did you all visit and did you have to drive back to Mexico? Vondi, what state do you live in again?
No one relaxes like a ca! I hope your evening is as quiet and your night as comfy as this. Don't have a lot tosay today. I'm tired. You each have a good night and rest safe in the Lord.
Good afternoon everyone. We had some light rain earlier in the week. Today is just gorgeous. The sky is clear, the sun is out,and there is just a slight breeze. Don't know what the temp is but I had to take my jacket off. I intend to enjoy these unusual warm November days while I can. Not having to work makes it even nicer. This will probably be my last free saturday for awhile as we our getting close to the holiday season.
Vondi-I love the bacon and eggs graphic. It looks so delicious. Breakfast is my favorite meal to have when I go out to eat. I'm glad alot of restaurants serve breakfast anytime of day now. What bugs me about McDonalds and other fast food places is that they stop serving breakfast at 1030am. I think you should be able to order breakfast items at least to noon.
Damaris-It must be scary living where there is so much violence. I will keep you in prayer that God will keep you and your family safe.
Looks like most in this group are partial to Dell computers. I have talked to others who also rate Dell very highly. I have been leaning toward either Dell or Hewlett-Packard. Several members of my family have an HP computer and have been quite pleased with it.
Life is GOOD. Let's take a minute to thank the Lord for everything He does for us! We are all here, we all have relative degrees of health and we are living in the Will of god. Certainly we can thank Him!
Brrrr. It's chilly here. I'm doing good this afternoon, other that feeling a littls shivery from the look of the sky outside... I'm not even cold, just the feeling of the grayness.
Vicky I love your rat. We used to raise rats (as snake food. yeah ) but we had a couple mamas that were real babies. They do make good pets.
Also I want to tell Linda that I got a flyer today from DELL with some great deals on laptops and big computers too. Go to www.DELL.com to se them.
Good morning Damaris, Kathryn, Vondi and others. How scary is that video!! Damaris, you, your family, the children and all the innocent people in the community are in my prayers. What is the fight about anyway? Gee I miss the good old days when people were happy and lived together in harmony. Drugs and greed have totally ruined the world as we once knew it.
Kathryn, I pray all is well with you dear friend. Be strong and of good courage.
Damaris, that is really scary knowing that there is so much violence so close to where you live. And for the children to see such deaths. I'm keeping you & your family and those in Reynosa in my prayers.
I did not have a good day at all. I am heading off to bed now.
I do want ya'll to know that I may not have service after tonight or tomorrow. If I don't, I just want ya'll to know I love you all and I pray everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving. Hugs, Kathryn
Vondi, the video you shared is exactly the one of
the day when they were fighting just in front of an elementary school,
you remember I told you about that day I think. The crowd you see in
the street is there because of the school; parents fled to the site.
You can see there were dead in the street (bad guys), and children had
to witness all that. Schools were closed until the following week. At
the beginning of the video, the reporter is on a bridge. My house (your
house down here friends) is aprox 1 mile from that bridge, to the left
(not where the stores are, to the opposite side). I was still at home
when that happened and I heard all the shoots. I didn't go out for the
rest of the day, and almost all business and works closed the next day
too. We weren't sure what to do, so most of the people stayed at home
with their families.
Thanks for your prayers everyone. I know you care about me...
Hey
Kat, Linda B, one of our friends here works, in retailing, I think she
could give you some advice if you get to work for Sears (which I think
is kind of cool too, the ladies employees there are always very well
dressed and with perfect make up, ) The
librarian work is good too, very quiet, calmed environment, tons of
books... I could do that job very pleased..! Whatever God has for you,
that'll work out great, you'll see.
Tonight we'll attend a conference called "Learning to Love in Family", as part of our thursday studies on family values. After
that, we have reunion because one of my nieces (from my cousin) will
have her birthday party (she will be 5). So, BIG FAMILY gathering
tonight! YAY!
Wishes of a beautiful evening and rested night. *bye*
Hello friends. Well, it's Thursday and all is well in my little neck of the woods. Vondi, I agree with the coffee. And I love your coffee graphics. As a matter of fact, we're about out of cream & sugar and looks like today is my last day for coffee for a bit. I pray not, but I may need to lay off for a bit anyways.
Damaris, I am in agreement with Vondi that I am truly concerned of your surroundings. I couldn't understand all that was going on in the video, but hearing the gunshots ring out was very apparent. Just know that I'm keeping you & your family in my prayers.
Well, I filled out more job apps yesterday online. I actually have an interview with Sears on Monday the 30th. I think it would be cool to go to work for them. We're going to the Workforce today. Hubby is even looking for work. So, God's will be done. If it's meant for us to find a job, then one will come through for us. I even filled an app as a part time librarian in the next city over. So, you never know.
I have a few more groups to check into. I'm praying that everyone has a blessed day. Love ya'll dearly, Kathryn
I was looking for something else on line and I ran across this. My Spanish is very rusty, but I know what the title says: SHOOTOUT IN REYNOSA! Watch the video. It kind of speaks for itself. http://www.youtube.com/user/3l21C92
Let's remember the people of Reynosa in prayer! Wow. This is frightening and yet Damaris says they just go on with life and refuse to be intimidated by it. Thank the Lord for such faith in the face of all this kind of thing.
You will understand, Damaris, if we tell you that we are concerned for YOU. I know there are many others in danger, but you are our connection.
GOOD morning! I hope you all don't get tired of my coffee graphics. I can live without it, but life is much nicer with it. I told Rachael that if ever our economy broke down to the place where shipping was ended the thing I'd miss most would be coffee. Dearie me!
The rain that I was looking for yesterday was all over the deck when I let the little dogs out this morning. It was rustling on the leaves and falling straight down on everything. It was neat. When the little dogs came back in they left wet tracks so big I thought they could have belonged to Maxim. When Gable shook off he sprayed water everywhere and then he hopped up in the chair beside me! Oh my.
CC I am so sorry your internet connection will be suspended for a while. We will look forward to the time when you can be back with us.
Kat, we will just keep trusting. You keep doing your end of things and God will certainly hold up his end.
LOL Damaris, I THOUGHT of you when I posted that cat picture but I was too nice to say itl..LOL You are really much prettier than him--even if the expression does match.
I need to get to work on the threads. I need to post something else on the portestant thread and also a daily study. And Pastor Jimmy's bible study. Too bad we didn't get it completed before Donna had to be at bible study. Maybe we can get it all done before she goes back after thanksgiving.
Ildi! no note from you this morning, but I trust you are good.
linda, donna, everyone else. Take care and I love you all.
Hi Kat, hope you find a job, if that's in God's plans. Keep sending applications, so you'll find out.
CCS, I'm sorry that you will be away for sometime, but time flies, and hopefully we will be able to have you back with us soon. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers during all that time, you can count on that. Blessings for you.
I went to the branch office I'm working at this week, today again. I was so cold I kept my jacket on the whole morning! I sure looked weird, but I was so cold. ...Since we opened that office on August, the heating is not installed yet, but it's about time to start thinking on that.
Hope all of you are having a peaceful rested night. Sweet dreams everyone.....! I'll go check the other threads right away...!
Due to financial reasons, I will be offline until December 4th.
I am very saddened by this, but I will be back as soon as possible.
I would like to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. though things are really tight right now, I have much to be thankful for, including my special Care2 friends!'I will miss you all and look forward to my return.
Please hold all messaging beginning this coming Saturday...I will change my profile to 'GONE' before I go offline.
Hello dear friends!!! It's Wednesday and it's cold here. Our heating unit wasn't working. We called our landlord yesterday evening and boy if she didn't call the AC guy to come out and look at it. We have an electrical problem but the technician was able to get the heat to work. I mean it got cold here. giggles I still slept under my 2 favorite blankies. Hehe!!!!
Vondi & Damaris, thank you for your prayers. Work still hasn't come through yet. I have been looking for jobs online and filling out applications. Some of these places are crazy with all they are wanting you to do. I mean, taking a Behavour Assessment test. I despise these things. What I might do is going to be different than someone else. I do them anyway.
Well, I've got a few more groups then more apps to fill out. Have a blessed Wednesday everyone. Love ya'll, Kathryn
I love this guy! LOL I wake up early, but I'm not always bright and talkative. I used to have a cat with a face like this. She was a sweety though.
Alright, Kat! You got groceries! We will keep praying for the cash you need for other things.
I'm becoming very partial to my cheese quesadillas. Remember I told you about the carb balanced tortillas, Rachael found? I've started putting whatever kind of cheese cubes we have on hand on half of one and then a bit of salsa on that. I fold it over and nuke it for about 30 seconds. Mmmmm. Good anytime, but I like it for mid morning snack. I decided that when we have our 'breakfasts' together we can serve those to Damaris too--a little protein in the mix.
Ildi, I'm so happy to see you joining in the discussions! Everyone go look for the Pastor Jimmy's thread. We are talking about Christ's crucifixion. ( never could spell than and I'm not gonna go look it up.)
Vicky, Linda, Donna... Hope you're doing good.
It looks to be a dismal day here today. Mica came in the room with me this morning. That tells me it is going to rain and probably even thunder. She likes to stay in the living room where she can see out the window unless it is raining. She's afraid of storms...
I wish you could see my bed! The little dogs are snggled in their beds, Maxim is laying on his bacK (!) with his head on the pillows and Mica is curled up like a lady on the far side beside sebastian. Funny pups!
Since my dad is out of town with my mom, I'm covering for him, who was covering for the employee who had surgery, remember?
So I'm the cover of the cover, lol (... yeah, I'm being silly...)
Anyway, we did had a cool day here again, in the 50's. It feels just great. I'm loving it. Alex didn't want to put a jacket on in the morning. He said it was just "fine". .......I bet he is cold by now, ha-ha-ha.
Well, hope your day is going great. Just taking some time to stop by and say HI !
Hello dear friends!!! Vondi, it's definitely a bacon & egg kind of morning. It got cold for us here. I tried to turn the heat on during the night to find it wouldn't come on. Hubby thinks when the new unit was installed the technician probably didn't turn the valve on for the gas. So, hubby gets to play in the attic sometime today. Right now, I'm wrapped in my favorite orange blankie and the oven is on to take the chill out of the air.
I do want to say that God is awesome. Yesterday, hubby's counselor, called us to tell us that they had some food for us. When I stopped by to pick it up, I was overwhelmed by their gift. We have quite a bit of food to feed us for quite some time. We have been truly blessed.
Damaris & Vondi, thank you both for showing me in scripture & experience how we should handle our situation. Right before I read ya'lls posts, hubby informed me that he didn't want to take the pastor to court either. This is a new church that does not have a board yet. So, I'm willing to give him a bit more time. I agree Vondi, what is this man preaching then. I do question his relationship with others though. Thank you ladies for being truthful & loving in your replies. I appreciate you both.
Well, I have other groups I need to check in with. Still praying for work. Thank you for your continued prayers dear friends. Love ya'll dearly, Kathryn
This seems to me to be a bacon and eggs kind of day... I don't know why, but it just does. Wish each one of you could be here. We could all sit around R & M's big table and have breakfast and drink coffee, tea, or juice and feed Damaris plain hash browns and toast and have a wonderful time.
Sound fun?
Well, close you eyes and imagine and have a wonderful morning!
Kat, I started to write my last post before you posted yours, that's why I didn't respond there.
About the question on this person that owes you money. I can relate to you because we give credit too. We, as you, have serviced many christian people (from our church, but also from other churches, and pastors too). You also know that we as owners and runners know who to give credit to and who not to. If client 'X', any given person, comes and asks me for credit, I won't give it, because I don't know this person, right? But if a 'sister' or 'brother' comes, and asks me for credit, I might be more likely to give them credit, because I have a sense of certainty about them. And that is when we are mislead by the "feeling" of certainty. It's easy to give in into the "I'm a christian too" tag.
Giving credit is a thing we have to do, regardless if the person is christian or not, thoroughly thinking about all the situations we may face, and be prepared to assume the risk that we may not be paid, and be able to deal with the consequences.
I, personally, would not make it a court thing, but that's me. We do not invoice large amounts of money, so, for me it's not worth the hassle of court and law expenses and that. In our
business we have had people who does not pay at the end. We make the
calls and visit them to remind them about their invoices, and we try by
all means to keep in touch with them, just don't lose contact, but we
don't get into legal actions really. (Besides, the mexican style of dealing with court and lawyers is way more dirtier that the US-onian style , so we try to stay out of it by all means.)
I don't know if you had a signed contract with payment terms and clauses (like for every month they don't pay, charges could be added, or other kind of clauses), or if it was just a word agreement. Also, if you decide to proceed and make the court thing, I think you should have record of all the collect attempts you have made, just to support your case maybe. And if I were you, before heading to court and file my case, I would give him one FINAL warn, and explain to him that he has crossed the limit and I'm starting legal action as of (date), so he can be aware and maybe have one last chance to prevent it.
Above all things, trust God. He will cover all your needs. We work and make bussiness because that's what we have to do in life, but at the end, we must not depend on our work and bussiness to supply our needs, it's God who takes care of us. We ask God for our daily bread, and He gives it to us. It's up to Him if it comes from our work/business, or from the lady next door or a relative. The important thing is that our basic daily needs are covered by Him one way or another.
Pray. We will be praying too that you and David can take the decision that pleases God.
Good morning! This just seemed to fit my morning today, so I thought I'd post it instead of a conventional 'good morning' graphic.
It is looking kind of gray here today. No blue sky anywhere, but it is the coming of winter, not milder temps! I hope everyone is doing well today,
Kat, it looks like we are the only ones around. Oh I pray that you will either get paid for back work or get a job like RIGHT NOW! I think you should still apply at the new businesses though. Cover all your bases!
As far as the preacher who owes you money. If he is doing that I question his commitment to God! He doesn't even sound like a Christian to me. Neverthe less Paul covered this very thing in I Corinthians 6: 1-6 He said: Dare any of you, having a complaint against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? ... I speak to shame you! Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, no, not one, who shall be able to judge between his brethren? ( I used the 21st century KJV)
I don't think you should just let it go, but before I would go to small claims, I would possibly go to the Church Board or the Elders and ask them to resolve the situation. I cannot believe that any congregation would have any confidence in his preaching or want to support a preacher who is dishonest. I would certainly not even respect him as a brother in Christ.
Of course I'm a pretty strict fundamentalist and I realize that in modern chruches much is skimmed over or ignored entirely--that doesn't mean it's RIGHT, but only what is done.
So I'd say petition the board first then, if the preacher is still not paying or you get no help from the board, THEN you take him to court.
That's my opinion. Maybe others can offer other thoughts.
Good morning everyone! I'm sorry I couldn't catch on during the weekend, I had stuff to do. Mom and Dad left to Oaxacalast Saturday, they'll spend the week there. We are staying at their place so we can sit on my grandma, my sister and my nephew, as usual.
CC, I'm sorry about the pain. Hope you are feeling better by now that you have been taking your meds. But it was nice to find you here, and know that you are still with us. Please don't keep from comming whenever you have a chance.
Ildy, how have you been? Wish good. How's the Bible study going? Share your thoughts with us.
Vondi, thanks for posting the pic? Don't we look great, people? . (And just for the record: we ate chinesse on the Friday for lunch, when we came back, and we had chinesse for dinner on Saturday night too. We had chinesse for 3-days in a row!! Oh, my husband...)
Oh, Kat I'd like a thread about pics. I will very much appreciate it.
Today is a holiday here in Mexico, anniversary of the Revolution. Alex is not working, but I am, because the personnel decided they wanted to trade it for next Saturday, so they are all working today, but we'll close on Saturday. I don't go to work on Saturday, I go to theology uni, so it will just be the same for me. And all this week I'll be covering in another office for the employee that had her surgery, so I may not be able to post in the morning.
HOPE YOU ALL ARE HAVING A BEAUTIFUL MONDAY! (the day here is cool, in the 60's F. GREAT!)
Hello dear friends. It's raining here this morning. We're looking at being in the mid 40's tonight. That's pretty cold for us folks here in SE Texas. BRRRRR!!!!!!! I've already got some windows open to help air out the house a bit.
I woke up around 5 something and just couldn't fall back asleep. So, I got up and started reading my Bible. I have a question I need to slide by ya'll. We did work for a pastor and he still owes us $300. He was supposed to have paid us on 10/22. Well, he won't return our calls and we have left many, many messages. He has begun services 2 Sunday's ago and he did tell us last week that he would get us some money. We've been by the church countless times only to have him tell us lies. Do I take him to small claims court? I'm truly troubled by all this. I was reading in Titus today and it says not to be foolish. Would it be foolish of me to take him to court? I just need to know what would ya'll do in my shoes. Thanks for listening on this one.
I also need prayers dear friends. Our cupboards are getting bare and our internet service will be terminated if we don't make a large payment by Thursday. Work is just not coming in, mostly due to the holidays. I am searching for a job away from the company we own and I'm praying something will come through for me. A brand new Popeye's chicken restaurant is being built around the corner and a new Aaron's Rent Center is also being built across the street from Popeye's. So, work is out here, it's just getting the apps done. I am just praying that work will come whichever way God's plan is for us.
Now that I have written down all that is going on with me. LOL!!! I pray that everyone has a great Monday. Love ya'll so much, Kathryn
I'm headed to bed dear friends. It's a bit chilly tonight, so I'm grabbing my extra soft blankie & favorite teddy. Have a blessed night everyone. Love ya'll, Kathryn
Oh Vondi, it's awesome to hear your morning is going so great. I actually got to sleep in a bit. I really needed it too.
I will be more than happy to get the steps of posting images onto a thread for us. Give me a little time and I'll make sure to get that here today. Like you suggested, I don't want to forget any small detail.
Well, it's Sunday and the sun is shining so brightly today. Hubby & I grilled pork chops yesterday. We had such a wonderful time outside. We're thinking of grilling chicken this evening for dinner. I made a yellow cake from scratch and I personally think it's better than my chocolate cake from last week. Hehe!!! I guess my Susie Homemaker side is popping through. LOLOL!!!! Well, I pray everyone has a blessed day. Love ya'll dearly, Kathryn
I haven't even opened my curtains yet, but I have had such a wondeful morning that this is how it feels, even if it is raining it cannot spoil my day.
CC!!! It is so good to see your name here! I'm sorry for the pain. I can relate. Some days I hate to even try to stand up it hurts so bad. My biggest blessing though is Rachael and Michael and the help they provide for me. May you soon feel better, my sister.
Kat, it would be the BEST if you would do a thread for how to post pictures... lol Much better than me. Please remember that some of us ( ahem, ME!, for example) are very slow, so don't leave out any tiny step. And I don't understand URL's and HTTP's and jpg's or jig's or what ever, and all those other letters, so tell me what I'm looking for, don't just use the letters. lol
I will pin it to our list IMMEDIATELY.
Ildi. I know we keep murdering your name. I post it all kinds of ways. Forgive us. We are glad to have you, no matter what I do to your name.
Linda, we anxiously await your new computer what ever or where ever you get it. As you can see, we are just partial to DELL.
Hello wonderful friends. Vondi & Damaris, I'm so glad you two were able to have some awesome quality time together. And Damaris, you bet I'm going to keep your word. LOL!!!! And if I ever get to Reynosa, I'll definitely chime in with you. Hehe!!!! What a great photo of all 3 of ya'll. Just warms my heart so much.
C.C., so wonderful to have you here. I will keep you in my prayers that you're pain will ease up. I'm just glad to see you up & moving around again.
Idkl, I can definitely help you with posting images here on Care2. If it's alright with Vondi, I'll start a thread so many of those that have difficulties can look there and I'll be able to help many.
Linda, I agree with Vondi about Dell. My Dell is over 5 years old and even though I've had a few problems, I wouldn't trade mine for any other brand. I know you'll be so glad when you are able to get a new computer.
If I have overlooked anyone, please forgive me. Just know that I keep all my Care2 friends & family in my prayers. And thank you Damaris & Vondi for your continued prayers for work to come our way. It's greatly appreciated. Have a truly blessed Saturday everyone. Love ya'll, Kathryn

I am sorry for my absence lately from Care2. I have been dealing with a lot of physical pain associated with my disabilities and have been resting on heat more than usual. I have also been off my pain medications for a while now and it is taking a toll on me. I should be able to resume meds and be here more often next week.
Well, here it is Saturday morning and Ive been up since four thirty or a quarter till five.Too many years of getting up early. My little dogs were up and bouncing around too.I put them out and made just enough coffee for myself and here I am online!
Here is Damariss photo. She is such a tiny thing she should have been in front of me instead of behind, but thats the way it goes. And she really did almost forget. They were getting ready to walk out the front door.LolIm happy that they enjoyed our visit as much as I did.We felt badly because we are only about ten minutes from the airport and they could have just brought all their junk and stayed the night.I didnt even think about it.We had a good visit and then they had to drive nearly an hour back to their hotel and then get up at 400 am to drive back and get on the plane.Rats.
I dont know too much about downloading things Ildi, but Ill message you through care2 with the little I do know.Kat is much better at it, but she is also much busier than I am. J
Linda, not to promote DELL too heavily, but when I bought my computer they had it all ready for me to use.I didnt have to do one thing except enter my wireless connection code. And Michael already had that set up.If I hadnt known how they would have walked me through that too.Theyare very nice.I dont know what you mean by technical assistance, but when my hard drive fried, they spent probably a couple or more hours on the phone with me, walking me step by step through the tests. Then when the new hard drive arrived, they again walked me step by step through the installation process. Now some people might think thats dumb but I had no idea how to remove the old hard drive and put the new one in.(yeah, yeah, Im a computer illiterate!) And for 80 dollars I was able to extend my regular warranty that comes with the hard drive to cover any accidental breakage that might be MY fault. And when you consider that I carry my laptop around while Im walking with crutches, that isnt so impossible as it would be to a normal person!
Kat,Im trusting the Lord to give you work enough to get you back on your feet andnot having to worry. Also, yall remember Donna-belle in prayer. She doesnt say much but she and Jimmy are having some financial headaches too with this countrys economic situation.
blessings from australia! November 14, 2009 1:38 AM
hello everyone, i've had a good saturday, it was warm, sunny and no rain. mainly i've spent it praying, reading the bible, having a friend come for coffee, listening to the radio and catching up on the inet. i would love to hear from anyone who could explain how to download images step by step if there is no 'html' code. thank you so much. god bless. and goodnight. peace and love from ildi p.
We are back in Reynosa now. What a wonderful time we had!! Awww, Vondi, you are just such a sweet friend! I was so happy we met. When we were driving back to the hotel from your home, Alex and I were saying how sweet and nice you were, and Rachel too. She made us feel very comfortable too, like we were also her friends, not just her mother's friends. Please thank her and Michael for making us feel welcome into their home. And thanks for your invitation, we'd love to go back to Ohio one day.
I have only one picture, -and we almost left Vondi's house without taking it-, but you know my firefox just simply does not let me insert any kind of pic or graphic. So, I'm emailing it to Vondi, and she would be so kind to post it for me, I'm sure.
Kat, whenever I get to your area, I'll be more than glad to pay you a visit too, . I'm happy to hear that you had a great time with dave on veteran's day. In the middle of the most difficult situations, God also gives us little moments of happiness, you see. Hug from you, .
Linda. I know about black friday. I went just one time, because everybody was talking about it, but I don't think I'd do it again. People go crazy! Hope you get your 'puter so you can visit us more often.
Last weekend it reached 70 degrees although Saturday was a bit on the windy side. This weekend is supposed to be nice as well with temps in the 60's. We have had quite alot of sunshine lately which is nice after weeks of rainy and dismal weather.
Damaris-I very rarely get a 3 day weekend so I very much enjoyed it. Usually I have saturday and sunday off which is unusual for working in retail. Once in awhile I have to work saturday so I will get a day off during the week. Of course, with the holiday season fast approaching I will probably be scheduled to work more saturdays. I am already dreading black friday.
Vondi-computer shopping is going well. I hope to get something where I can get technical support should I need it. If all goes well, I hope to have my own computer or laptop sometime after the first of the year. I love the photo of the cat watching the computer. Can't wait to have my own computer so I can post photos and graphics.
Good Morning dear friends. Oh Vondi, how wonderful to have Damaris & Alex have dinner with ya'll. I know all of you had so much to talk about and that it truly felt like having family over. That was a true blessing for both you & Damaris. Shoot, I live closer to Damaris than anybody here and I still have yet to meet her face to face. Hint, hint there Damaris. LOLOL!!!!!
Vondi, your vision was right on. He had $160 on him. And all of it was taken except for the dollar he spent on a soda. Hubby is still bruised, but praise God, his body is healing. I just keep praying for his emotional needs now.
Well, I gotta run. Please can ya'll continue to pray for work to come our way. Bills don't get paid unless we work. Thank ya'll. Have a wonderful day everyone. Love, Kathryn
It is cold but beautiful here today. I enjoy looking out at the brightness--just don't make me go out. The cold really hurts my knees.
I had a fantastic blessing last night when Damaris and Alex joined us for dinner! What a wonderful ocassion. Rachael and I agreed that it was like having family come to visit after they had been away for a long time. It was great! It really was like having family come home for a visit!
I told them that the NEXT time Alex has to come to Columbus for a meeting, they have to stay with us. Damaris and I will send Alex to his conference and WE can hang out all day. lol And I'm serious too. R & M agreed.
Now if only Donna-belle could get to Ohio, my life would be complete.
Of course any others of you who get into the Columbus area only need post a note or call me. We'll take you. LOL only you'll have to come to me cuz I don't get around very well. But my mouth works just fine. I can gab for hours. Damaris and Alex had to go too soon to suit me.
I'm here again late. I've been involved in a good bible study that I posted on the daily study today, but the second part is et to come. That really excited me. What a great though. But you have to wait until tomorrow.
We are having dinner with more friends tonight and I am really looking forward to it. i can hardly wait. So forgive me if I'm scatterbrained.
I was glad to hear that all of the job money wasn't stolen. I had visions of several hundred dollars being gone. And now your husband is on th emend so this is all workng out.
Hello dear friends. Damaris, so glad you're enjoying yourself on your mini vacation. Right now, we have temps in the 50's this morning. I imagine how much you are truly enjoying the much cooler weather in Ohio. Totally different than Mexico. giggles I miss being in a state that actually has 4 seasons.
Well, yesterday, we went to Applebee's to eat. Applebee's offered Veterans a free meal. We had such a good time. We made it there at the right time. It was between the lunch rush & the dinner rush. We met a young man that had been discharged 2 years ago from the Navy. He had been stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I was born & raised in Norfolk, and my dad still lives there. So, we had a great conversation. As we were leaving, we met a gentleman that was 80 years old and served in the Korean war. So, I say yesterday was truly awesome.
Today, I have left over housework to get done. Uggg!!! I have one more load of laundry to do and then that will all be done.
Vondi, no, Praise God, David didn't have all the remaining money on him from the job. We didn't get that until Tuesday. We were broke over the weekend because of what the robbers did take, but we managed. Thank you all for your love & support. David is healing well. His busted lip is giving him the most pain right now. It will heal in time.
Well dear friends, I'm off to check out threads & groups. Have a truly blessed Thursday everyone. Love ya'll, Kathryn
How are you people? Ready to start feeling the weekend approaching? Bet you are.
I've been enjoying myself, just resting and hanging around. We like this colder weather. We have not had cold weather in many years in Reynosa, only cool ones. Cold days like in the 30's F are rare in my hometown. This morning Alex found ice on the windshield in the car. Last night we came back to the hotel from having dinner, and we parked, and as soon as we got out of the car this HUGE smell of pine invaded our nose! WOW! Delicious. No smelly pines down in Reynosa. I also discovered a bird nest just on the tree by our window. I wanted to take a pic, but the window is not helping (reflection, etc). Anyway, this is our last day here, tomorrow we'll go back to MX at 8:00 am I think. We want to be in the airport by 6:30, that means getting up super early tomorrow.
Oh, and we have a super special plan for tonight that I'll share with you later.....
My life is much more exciting now than it was when I was working every day! Rachael and Michael have company all the time... whew! The good thing is that they are all nice people. Rachael's roommate Laurynn was back this morning for a short while until Rach took her to get on the plane for Phoenix a little bit ago. And of course I had to go and gab with her!
Kat! A robbery! My goodness. Thank the Lord he wasn't hurt any worse than he was! Did he have all the job payment on him or just part of it... I hope they didn't take so much to put any additional hardship on you all!..
Ildi, I was trying to remember without going and looking, exactly what the time differenc is between you and us... When it is 2 AM there what time is it here? Iwake up at odd times too. This morning it was 4:30 Not only did I wake up, but my little dogs were awake and ready to go outside! So I just went ahead and got up!
Damaris! Im so glad you have a beautiful day to wander around Marysville! I wish you could be here in Westerville! You could walk along the reservoir and see the beautiful water and trees. Sometimes we even have seagulls. LOL you could also throw a water toy for Maxim and get him tired out. He loves to swim and will keep doing it until he comes home and goes to sleep!
I'd better get on and read the other posts. I like this pink too. but I have one more I want to put up for you to look at... Kat, you didn't miss anything with the green. I liked it at first, but it made my eyes hurt after a while....
Hi Kat! I'm sorry to hear about David being robbed, but I'm so grateful he is in one piece. I've never been robbed, but I will surely not fight back, I have absolutely no self-defense skills, I'm a small thing (110 lbs, 5ft), and I'm not strong physically. David made a point though, nobody deserves to be taken away what's theirs, and he fought for that. Anyway, thanks God in every thing. And all the extra caution he is having, well, it really comes to the case. SO happy to see you back in the group!
I got up late today, and walked to have breakfast and stopped by some stores nearby. The day is beautiful, the sun is shining at its best. Alex will be free until 4:00 pm. I'll be around.
Hello dear friends. Vondi, I like the peach background a whole lot. Sorry I wasn't around for the green one. My internet was cut off and is only on temporarily. So much has happened in this past week. I wasn't able to stop by yesterday because Care2 kept kicking me out. Very frustrating. Well last Friday, my hubby was robbed at a convience store. He got beat up pretty good, but he said he fought back. He had just gotten some money on a job we were doing and he had stopped to buy a soda. He thinks he was eyeballed from the moment he got out of his truck. He came home with a black eye, busted lip and huge bruise on his shoulder. He's doing much better now. He's still very gun shy though. He triple checks the locks, etc... whenever we get home and he checks the whole house. I don't blame him for being frightened. We were able to finish the job yesterday. We were able to finally pay a little more on my internet and buy groceries. While I was at WalMart, I ran into an old customer of ours that asked us to stop by tomorrow. She may have some work for us. So, it does look like things are beginning to look up. We want to move, but our landlord is the greatest lady. We're just unsure if we can continue to pay all the bills etc... So, moving is up in the air right now.
Damaris, so glad you're enjoying your trip to Ohio. Well, today is laundry & housecleaning day. Ugg. Gotta do it though. Have a truly blessed Wednesday everyone. Love ya'll, Kathryn
HI! We are in Ohio by now. We took two planes. I'm not thrilled about flying, but what else. Alex was checking on me all the time.
I'm planing on enjoying my two days here. Alex will be in the plant, and I'll spend the days in the hotel, which I like to do, even though you may think it's boring...lol.
I have seen many lovely homes tonights, this is a very pretty city.
More tomorrow!
Have a rested night!
PS. Vondi, I like this design too. PS2. Ildi, sorry about your being up so early. I know about sleep troubles, I suffered them since a very young age (9 or 10 years old.) Once in a while, I'm hard to sleep too.

good morning vondi i'm here! November 10, 2009 12:51 PM
dear vondi and friends, i've been up since 2.30am listening to the radio pottering in the kitchen and hopping onto care2. i pray to god through jesus christ that you all are keeping well and i hope your day is a blessed one. enjoy! peace and love from ildi p.
Well for goodness sake! Where is everyone? I guess no one saw the green background theme that was up for the last couple days. It was pretty but hard to read. This is about my favorite...
Well, If someone stops by, Hello and the best of everything for you! Love, from Vondi!
Well I'm so tired of fighting with Care2 I'm givingup and going to bed! Or at least getting off care2. I've tried for half an hour to post a new welcome thread and could NOT get it to work.
AND I've already decided I don't like this background. You cannot see the discussion titles....
Too tired to mess around looking for a pretty graphic right now... We had company last night until this morning. Rachael's old roommate Laurynn came from Arizona last night; she stayed until her sister picked her up this morning. These people have more company in a month than I had in a year! LOL
It's been a nice day here... R & M went grocery shopping this afternoon. With Rachael's work schedule she has trouble getting to the grocery. LOL If she sent Michael, we'd have a cupboard full of twinkies, ho-hos chips, frozen pizza and probably Applejacks and Cocoapuffs. LOL
And then we'd eat McDonalds on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Bob Evans Tuesday and Thursday. On Friday we'd do Subway and Rachael would drag her broken and beaten body to Krogers on Saturday in self defense. LOL
Nothing much else hapening here. I think I'll go fiddle around with a new background and maybe go back to Facebook soon. Oh-oh... too late my guacamole salad for the cafe spoiled! ggh
Wow. It's beautiful here today. I can't see a single cloud frm my window. Michael left early for his overtime. I didn't even hear him go! Rachael has her first weekend off in a LONG time. Her friend Laurynn is arriving tonight from Phoenix. gonna be a big day.
Damaris. You can have OJ with your donut if you want. I'm not too sure how my mouth would react to the contrast. If I can't have coffee, I'll have to take milk.
Ildi, just gave me an idea... Maybe we should have a thread called "Today I read...." and we can post each day the scripture/scriptures we read. Not a competition, but just so we can be encouraged to read the Word. What do you all think?
Hey Kat, and Vicky, and Donna-belle, and Donna M and Sheila and all the rest of you!--We worry about you when you don't stop in. Just say Hi!
Linda, great to see you here! So, you always have 3-day-weekends, or is it a schedule thing and changes over the weeks? Hope you enjoy this long weekend for you!
Ildi! Good morning, it's great to know that you have been studying. We'd love it if you shared some of your studies with us here in the group. Feel yourself at home, and open a new thread on some topic you are studying. And happy weekend to you too, .
Vondi, thanks for donnuts, I'll get one gladly. But I'm not into coffee, can I have this with orange juice or will it be too weird?
Good morning everyone! Ildi, looks like I just missed you. I hope your day is going well.
And Linda! How good to see your name. We miss you. How's the computer shopping coming? I hope you can soon afford one and be here oftener.
Damaris, everyone else--we'll share the donuts with you too.
It's a beautifuls cold cisp day here in Westerville. the kind of day I loved when I was young enough to be outdoors. Well, I shouldn't say 'young' I should say when my knees worked right1 LoL It would be a gorgeous day for a hike. Hoq great it would be to take the dogs and go for a hike over by the reservoir!
hello friends, i have had a very busy week, studying the bible and sharing time with friends and of course doing my best on the internet to help with causes and such. i hope you have a wonderful weekend. god bless you and your loved ones. peace and love from ildi p.
Can't believe we are into November already. The past few days have been rain free but on the cold and sometimes windy side. Saturday they're predicting it to get up to 70 degrees. Finished another work week so now I have the weekend to look forward to. Can't stay too long so a blessed good night to all.
Hi guys I'm here. Late today, but I've been studying a long time on putting together info on the protestantism thread. Take a minute to go look at it.
I've had to discipline my self in playing on facebook. It is very addicting and it was cutting into my time in study and thinking on the things of God. That had to stop.
It's later now. Rach just called to say she and Michael would not be home until late today so I'm on my own for a couple more hours. Gotta go let thed little dogs out and grab a cup of coffee. (lol talk about being adicted!) I'll be back later.
How's everybody doing today? I hope you all are well.
Tonight we'll have our weekday study at church. These last month we have been studying about the family, and relations, etc. We are studying about the roles, parenting, communication, violence, etc. I really think our church needs this right now, as some of the families are having trouble time with rebellious children. Well, may we all be blessed at the study tonight.
And may God keep our families (yours and mine) safe and close to Him, in His infinite mercy. AMEN.
Vondi, what a wonderful surprise! I read about Irving's work on you blog some days ago. I even left a message that day. Anyway, I'm happy that you had this little treat from God, He totally knows what makes us happy!
About Rachel. I used to work many hours when I worked in the maquiladora (manufacturing plant). I would work from 7 to 7 most days. I was young-er, and I felt I could eat the world from one bite... The last two years of that work I was married, and yes, it can be tiresome sometimes. Right now, I don't work as many hours, but I have to stay in the office until we close, sometimes at 9:00 pm. Alex officialy gets off work at 4:30, but he always stays in the plan until 6:00. My point is, for me, in my situation (no kids, supprtive husband, etc) I find it good that I can work this long, and I know years will come when I won't be able to, so I want to make good use of this chance now. Time will come, and my priorities will change for sure, so I'm doing what I can do now.
I have had the most wonderful day! Let me tell you!
Last night Notah called Rachael. No big deal. A little while later she came back bursting with smug excitement, grinning with Michael.
She said, "Mom, you have a surprise coming tomorrow around noon. You have to look decent (lol translate that to mean not wearing one of my tatteredy old dresses that I'm partial to.. ) And when the doorbell rings you have to answer it."
WELL, turns out my nephew Irving was stopping by on his way home from the east coast! http://tangledhighways.blogspot.com/2009/10/bragging-on-my-nephew.html I was so excited when he came today. It is wonderful to see someone from home. It just made my day! He was driving a U-haul back home with a load of donated new and slightly used books for the Navajo Nation Library and reading programs!
They only stayed long enough to drink a cup of coffee and talk about home, then they had to be on their way. Irving said he wanted to be in St.Louis tonight.
Damaris, I don't know if I can take this much excitement two weeks in a row! Iwas sorry about the head lights.... I did that once or twice and more often left the interior light on! It is so irritating when you turn the key and nothing happens.
It is great to have new people joining. I hope you newbies come often and participate with us.
I got things to do that I've put off to play on the computer today so I'd better get them done.
AHHH. I'm back. Feeling much better. lol I actually had my 'lunch' I eat breakfast very early since Rachael often leaves for work at 4:30 or 5:30 and I eat with her. That puts my 'lunch time at about ten oclock. And I often have coffee in between times. you know me and my coffee.
This morning I had a carb balanced tortilla wrapped around ham and cheese. My favorite lunch item. I also had some egg drop soup.
So I'm satisfied. This morning Rachael had a two hour drive to get to the store she was straightening out. She has gotten a 'promotion' Her lien accounting trainer position ended on October 20, technically. But the stores were having such a hard time with the process that the Kroger company decided to hire her and two others to serve as trouble-shooters to go around and help those stores who were struggling to use the software. I'm proud of her. She isn't too sure how she feels. It means 12 hour days, like today. She left at 4:00AM and if she is home by 4:00PM I'll be surprised. It is nice that they pay her mileage and drive time....
It is a nice day here. The big dogs are outside and I'll have to go get them so I'm signing off for now.
Good morning Vondi, hope you are enjoying your coffee.
Good morning all, how's everyone today? Hope great.
I'm stuck at home because I let the lights of the car on, and now I have no battery. But the help guy from the office is picking me up in 15 min or so..... So I'm waiting.
Yesterday was a holiday here in MX, not official, but most of the poeple didn't work. Alex did, and I worked half day. The reason for the holiday: the dead. Everybody goes to the cementeries and bring flowers and food offerings to the dead. We don't participate in that though, but it was nice to spend the afternoon at home. Here are some pics of the holiday, click here. Please do not mix this with the Santa Muerte (Holy Death) cult.
In the Santa Muerte cult, people worships Death. In the Day of the Dead, people bring offerings to their deceased, like mom or dad, or grandpa, etc. On Novemeber 1st, they offer to the children dead, and November 2nd is for the adult dead.
Yes, this country has an obsession with skulls, skeletons and bones, hehe. So, the Santa Muerte cult is forbidenn by the catholic church, but the Day of the Dead is not, it's pretty much linked, because the make prayers and stuff to the dead.
Confused....? I know it wasn't my best explanation......
Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. Lots of things going on. I spent some time posting about my nephew on the blog and then also I posted Keva's drawings. so I was involved there. Then my friend Peggy got me started with FishWorld, a virtual aquarium, and Kenny made me 'buy' a farm in Farmville on Facebook. LOL So I was playing with that.
HEY. Did y'all hear that the Vikings beat the Packers yesterday! LOL I LOVE it. I'll bet the Packers are kinda wishing they'd worked with Farve a little more and kept him around. This the second time this year that the Vikings have beaten the Packers. HA.
and... It's national finals!
Now do you understand why I was a little preoccupied? Bull riding goes on for a week!
It seems like all of us are having a lovely weather this days. We are here, too.
Vicky, I found the news in C2NN, go here. And Vicky, how did you create your graphic? I want one of those....
Vondi and Kat, I'm happy to hear you are both doing good and it seems like you had a nice weekend. Kat, please feel free to open any thread you want, we the co-hosts can come and pin it later. Please my friend.
Good afternoon Vondi and Kathryn and others who come in. Happy November 1st to you and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! Cool with the sun out....absolutely awesome.
Vondi, congrats on your neice's marriage and I'm glad her wild days are behind her and that she and her husband are both Christians.
Kat, it sounds absolutely lovely that you sat outside under the moon last night with a blanket and ate on your porch with hubby this morning. I wish I lived on a dead end street...it used to be quiet here with no traffic but all that is past now.
Can you believe in a little over a month Christmas will arrive? Where did this year go?
This is Kathryn's post for November 1. It was in the old thread...
Hello dear friends. I know this thread is for October, and with it being the first day of November, I didn't want to overstep my boundaries and start a new thread. It is absolutely gorgeous here. I just fixed hubby & I pork chops & fried eggs and we took our plates to the front porch to eat. There's a gentle breeze with no cloud in the sky. The temp is perfect with lots of sunshine. Last night, it was around 55 degrees, so I grabbed my favorite blanket, a cup of coffee and sat outside. There was a full moon with loads of stars to look at. We live on a dead end street, so no traffic to bother us either.
Well, with it being Sunday, I pray everyone has a truly beautiful & blessed day. Love ya'll, Kathryn
Hi all, I'm a little slow getting going today, but it is a gorgeous November day here and 'm enjoying it!
I just had a looooong conversation with my niece. I haven't talked to her for several months and today she called and said she had gotten MARRIED! What a surprise. It sounds like she got a good Christian man, so pray for her that she will learn how much she needs the Lord. She has lived a pretty wild life...
Well I need to get up and move around a little bit. I've sat here too long...
Kathryn. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lose your post. I'll go copy it and post it here so people will read it too.
