Rhonda, I thought you'd be particularly be interested in this...
According to Nielsen, over a quarter of all Americans have been following coverage of the Royal Wedding. What about overseas? Hardly. America's fascination with Harry and Kate has outshined interest in both the UK and Australia. Why is this the case? Georgetown University Professor Chris Chambers says that this ratings builder is being capitalized on by mainstream media as outlets everywhere market a distraction that Americans are gladly eating up. My sister called me this morning around 8 and asked me "did you watch the wedding!"
me: "No.. no TV remember, but even if I had one I wouldn't have watched, just not that interested."
her: "I got up at 3am just so I could see it! I watched Diana's so I wanted to see this one too."
me: "I definately wouldn't have gotten up at 3... I didn't even get to bed until 3... thanks to the 5 police that showed up at my house at about 1:30 or 2!"
her: "cops?!? for what?!?"
Yes, the queen of segue has done it again! thank you very much!
Well, I recorded it because I wanted to see Kate's gown and veil (I just watched bits of the ceremony - good ol' 'fast forward'), which was, I thought, positively beautiful. Classic, elegant, understated... very reminiscent of Grace Kelly's gown; but Kate's veil was my favorite part - in my next life I'm wearing one like that (assuming I marry again lol) the tiara was understated too (compared to most of the Queen's jewels) and just perfection When the front of it was pulled back she looked very Madonna-esque (not the singer). Didn't care for William's red uniform coat, I thought Harry looked much more dashing in his dark uniform.
And omg, the dress Kate's sister wore ... droool!

I enjoyed the entire pageant--the music , the entry of all the prople , the really strange hats, the raucous crowds having such fun inspite of hard times, the dresses, the uniforms, the horses, the carriages, the ceremony--everything. I certainly enjoyed it more than watching the constant barrage of pictures of protests and bloody reprisals. They do a lot of good in their duties as ambassadors and charity folk around the world. And the whole wedding did not cost a fraction as much as one of the aircraft the governent of Britain is using against Libya.

Yes they do, and good point
Thank you! I seldom get any feedback on my opinions--good or bad.

I'm in full agreement .. If ever I get the chance to wear a wedding dress/outfit I would not mind if it is like hers ..
(I've never worn a wedding dress .. the opportunity had escaped me all these many years since my birth ..)
Yep. I'm a total brat expecially when dhe's 8 years older then I am
I'm sure it will be on youtube and news channels (internet) enough for me to see it if I change my mind.
very Madonna-esque (not the singer)
It's kinda sad that anyone would have to add that
I logged in to FaceBook after I posted here only to find that not ony had sis watched but that she had pretty much narrated on FB... "waitng on Kate"... "now they're getting into an awesome open carriage..."
Mary I don't know the cost of either but will take your word for it and be glad that it seems they are totally unlike their elders.
[BTW-Cops were looking for one of the delinquent from down the road and someone told them that his mom lived at the end... well, that's OLD info, his mom live across the street but lost it all by blowin' her $ on pills, but anyway... all good here ]
[edt: UN-like their elders]

It cost 1000+ times more for one Typhoon fighter jet than it cost for William and Kate's wedding. The wedding estimate cost was 32 million and one fighter jet cost approx 35 billion. And Britain had originally ordered something like 265 jets but have since cut that order by 73 due to inflation of costs to produce the jet.
