Poison dart frogs, members of the Dendrobatidae family, wear some of the most brilliant and beautiful colors on Earth. Depending on individual habitats, which extend from the tropical forests of Costa Rica to Brazil, their coloring can be yellow, gold, copper, red, green, blue, or black. Their elaborate designs and hues are deliberately ostentatious to ward off potential predators, a tactic called aposematic coloration.

Beautiful frog!!! Thank you lynn.
Thank you Lynn. Amazing frog! Look at this one, please.

He aquí un poco de información acerca de la rana-mono que he encontrado en la Red. Gracias y muchos besos desde Isaba!
The monkey frogs are a group of species of tree frogs (Phyllomedusa hypocondrialis, phyllomedusa sauvagii, etc.) which are characterized by long limbs and a lack of webbing between their toes. This last trait allows them to grasp branches and to climb trees in the manner of a monkey (thus the name). They live in Peru, in rainforests such as the Tambopata Rainforest. The continent of Peru is S.America. The Monkey frog is a very large tree frog,
Certain species produce hallucinogens in their skin.

Vinnie and Wendy, there's a member on here who opens a different thread of FrogsRUs - Endangered Species: topic - TAG FOR GROUP and he can help you learn how to post graphics. His name is Tj H. - Terry. Here's his "sharebook" url: http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/sharebook/802863238 It will explain how to upload and post pictures, but you can just go into Discussions and look for the thread. Hope it will help you both. Hugs and kisses. xx
Vinnie is a member of one of my groups - Treelovers - here at care2, she sent me a thank you there, for joining here.
I have sent Wendy an intro msg and asked if I can Help.
Vinnie is aware that I have been quite busy trying to revive treelovers, as I was away for some tme & it got a little abandoned by the other hosts & members in my absence. All is sorted now & I have more time to help others.
Vinnie "I am here" any one "I am here" just send an intro "Hi, can you help" & I will get back to you - I can only help if asked, if I know the problem.
I wonder if this is also a GOLIATH Frog - It's certainly Large ... ?
