CD/DVD scribe April 07, 2005 11:44 AM

Have you heard of a "scribe" program that writes your label?

After you burn your CD/DVD, turn the CD/DVD over & laser scribe the label onto the CD/DVD directly instead of a paper label.

I just saw the CDs at WalMart & they have the HP scribe for $100 but I don't want any more HP products. I'd just like to get some more information on them. Thanks.

Haven't heard of that software....

But I do have a bit of an HP aversion myself.

I'm doing a search for one right now & all I'm coming up with is a stand-alone, not one which is attahed to your computer.

Lightscribe, Light Scribe, CD R, DVD R, Media

Actually, that looks like what you are talking about.  Aparently, it requires special disks that allow the "scribing" on the label side, as well as a special drive to make your labels.

The prices you posted were for the CDs.

This is a list of drives by Lightscribe...

I didn't see any prices, but they mention on their site that HP is going to release "light scribe enabled machines" soon.  I'm sure you can't wait.  [ send green star]

So that's how threads get all wacky....... (too long of a string entered without a break..)  [ send green star]

I went to the link you gave me & it had to search for the scribe. I found a demo here:
