Was It A Shock? February 08, 2005 4:57 AM

When you first got on CARE2 as a Newbie and found there were people who weren`t really into the truth?

I don`t mean they were just innocents but they didn`t want to hear it.

Made you wonder why they were even on CARE2 in the first place....

i don't know if i was exactly shocked, but i do think it's weird that some ppl are on care2 when they apparently (obviously?) don't care at all...  it boggles my mind that anyone can claim to care about environmental and social justice and at the same time think the current usa administration is a good one.  i mean, what the fucque?!  and, yeah, it's amazing that these ppl refuse to look into the copious amounts of evidence available that refutes their weak and ridiculous arguments of how good bush and his cronies are.  [ send green star]

I've never understood it but I'm used to people being illogical.

Actually no .....sad to say ... I was not shocked at all.

To me there is way too much logic going on. It tends to get in the way of the heart. Where Truth is.

I must disagree February 08, 2005 2:59 PM

It seems to me most of the problems of the world come from people reacting emotionally, rather than looking at evidence and thinking things through.

I didnt mention "E-motions" which the true meaning of that word means lack of motion.

I said .....the heart....your soul....that is where the truth will always be.........not in the head where one is ruled by all the E-motions.

Ya think long.....ya think wrong. People think too damn much!

If you come from your core spirit....your true heart....you will never be in reaction....you will then be in action. Much much bettah.

Ok, I didn’t understand.  And to confess absolute truth, I still don’t.  You sort of described your truth to me.  Let me describe mine to you.

My heart is the primary organ of my circulatory system.  It’s an organ that oxygenates my blood.  It is vital to my existence but there is no truth there.

I don’t believe in the soul, there has never been any evidence to suggest there is anything beyond brain function.  I believe everything I am is the direct result of the formation of my brain and the influences that made it what it is today from genetics to life experience.  I have intelligence.  I have principles.  I have understanding.  These reside in my brain.

Should something happen to my brain by disease or injury I am changed forever.  This has been documented hundreds of times.  The function of this organ is not to be taken lightly.  It is who we are.

In my opinion, people don’t think enough.

Perhaps we just speak different languages.

No Soul? February 08, 2005 3:37 PM

How can you say that you have no soul/spirit?

Who told you such things, that you dont?

Soul February 08, 2005 3:38 PM

Define the soul.  Where does it exist?  [ send green star]

Your not stupid at all, and know exactly what I am speaking of.

Who told you that you dont have one?

Soul Definition February 08, 2005 4:18 PM

Thank you, I don’t believe I am stupid either.  I don’t believe in anything unless I’m given a darned good reason.

So define for me what a soul is.  Is it your feelings?  I have emotional responses, just as every creature with a cerebral cortex.  All mammals have emotional responses.  Does a cat have a soul?  If it is not feelings, then what?  Your morals?  My morals come from my education, my personal observations, and my cultural influences.

Is it some ethereal completely invisible light that surrounds you?

What is a soul?  If you cannot even define it, how do you know it exists?

I’m not trying to be difficult.  This is how I am.

Soul February 08, 2005 4:23 PM

Well then, lets not be difficult. Why have you not answered my very first question? Two emails and no answer.

Who told you you dont have a soul?

Thank you,

Feather

No one told me.  Just because someone says something is there, doesn't make it so.  I try to find my own truth.  What does it matter anyway?

Can you define the soul?

For the sake of clarity February 08, 2005 4:35 PM

What I meant to say was, what does it matter whether someone told me this or not.

By avoiding the answer and then the answer you gave..... it was very defensive. And I dont believe that someone didnt tell you that.

My first gut reaction was someone told you there is no soul/spirit to us all.

Until you get honest.......how can we move further? And yes I can describe it.

Always,

Feather

And by the way. The soul/spirit has been defined, described and seen and witnessed by many, more than a hundred times to boot.

Not even Science can deny this any longer. Yes they too have tried.

And by the way also....... I am not speaking about Religion or any sort. This has nothing, whatsoever to do with Religion.

Why assume I am not telling the truth? February 08, 2005 4:51 PM

I never intended to be evasive or defensive.  I merely found it immaterial.  I don't see how it matters to what we were discussing.

I did arrive at this conclusion myself.  If you choose to believe that I'm a liar, well then I guess there is nothing more to say.  I don't know why it is so impossible to believe someone can subscribe to a naturalist point of view.  No one ever said to me that there is no soul.  I have never had any reason to believe there is such a thing.

It is very relevant to the conversation we were having. It matters completely.

And why do I say you are not being honest? Because there is proof there is a soul/spirit to all things that live. So for someone to say there is not one........ well.........how can we go further? And surely someone had to tell you that. Science has proven it, people have seen them. There are countless studies that have been done on this. Its a truth that you are denying.

Feather

 February 08, 2005 5:20 PM

I'm afraid you are going to need to tell me about these studies and this scientific proof.  Just to say it was proven, is not enough.  You'll need to list your sources.  I don't remember reading anything about science finding evidence of a soul.

I'm sensing hostility.  I hope I am wrong.  There is no need for hostility.

Hmmmmmmmm Intersting that your sensing hostility. There was nothing hostile about anything I said. Nor am I feeling hostility.

What I am going to do is this. You stated there is no soul. Prove that please, that there is no such thing.

Thank you,

Feather

 [ send green star]

 February 08, 2005 5:46 PM

Well, I'm glad I was wrong about the hostility.  It was just that whole calling me a liar thing seemed rather hostile.  Anyway, onward...

How can I possibly prove that something doesn't exist, when there is no evidence that it exists in the first place?  That doesn't make any sense.  Ok, how about this...

Let's say I asked you to prove to me that the All-Knowing Giant Invisible Pink Unicorn doesn't exist.  Not only can it not be done, it is an exercise in futility.

You said science has proved the soul.  All you need to do is merely list a credible source.

lol Pink Unicorn.

"""How can I possibly prove that something doesn't exist, when there is no evidence that it exists in the first place?"""

How do you know that it doesnt exist? I bet if we asked everyone here this, that many would concur with me. Does that mean I am a liar? That I am wrong? Feeble minded? I was talking about it earlier about speaking from the heart, guts, or soul....and you said....................it does not exist. Prove it. Prove to me that we have no soul, when I can bring countless in here that will tell you we all do.

There is actually much evidence about the soul/spirit in all things.

The actual burden of proof is on you. Why would I need to prove something that is universally known?  The task is for you to prove us all wrong. Arent it? *~

We can leave the others out if you wish. Prove to me that there is no soul, since you are so certain there isnt one. You obviously have heard of this, so its not something that is an oddity such as your pink unicorn. I have ony heard of white ones.

Show me how there couldnt possible be a soul.

I will await your reply.

Always,

Feather

You also stated this and I forgot to answer you.

""""Is it some ethereal completely invisible light that surrounds you?"""

Light would not be invisible.....would it? I mean,...to state that something is a light or has light......it had to have been seen, correct?

And the thing that does surround us that can be seen, is called the Aura. They come in colors too. Which color depends on many things. But all living beings, whether it be animal, plant, or human, all have auras..............oh....lets not leave out the mineral kingdom too, like rocks etc.

Talk with you soon.
